Newbie 2033: Borkdörkjello - Game Over

Okay so just rereading the game as a whole.
I know adorable asked for me to explain my voting, but if there's other players who have early -mid game points they want to raise with me, spam them now as IV got a bit of time to respond, and also I feel like just talking about my voting will be a short post.

I will mention my voting in the context of my view of the overall gamestate, and the first spot I have paused is page five just as dong joins.

When I said to DKK I have found 4/9 Town ( self included) on page two I sincerely believed it.
I read back and regret not defending sesq harder, but I guess I thought my little appeal may give town the chance to come round on sesq.
It was a very ballsy play to come out here and play like that as scum from post 2, I guess I figured sesq would win town over as well ( not defending sesq having crossed anyone's threshold by this point) I really like rannys response to sesq.

Anyway, vote stayed on JD and eventually the block of sesq/ag/koba became a thing. I had to unvote JD at L1 there because his (JD Vs sesq) defense read true to me, and I didn't fully trust ag or DKk at this point.

The vote on CW I did explain, CW was very defensive to start with and overreacted to any suspicions. My attempts with posts like #50 was to help him relax into the game .

I didn't trust DKk at all at this point. ( I can mention now I was in another game with DKk that had started at the same time) there I was the S in a T Vs S, and she was crushing me! I was looking for similar tells in this game that hadn't appeared at this point.

Ok just finished day one, what can I say?
Dong did well to keep the focus on the negative side of sesqs game, ranny went along with it, he never trusted sesq, JD went along with it, and gave a good selection of posts as evidence of his reasons, but couldn't break his self meta aware tunnel.

My initial scumreads of sesq/dkk/AG were all shaken up so I wanted to check outside of that.

Dong had heat earlier in day 1 and it mysteriously vanished. I thought that was suspicious so I wanted to revisit that.

I like what I'm seeing from adorable.
I'm gonna do a deeper dive on NS before I pass judgement there.
I want to hear/see some actual critical analysis from CW. The self vote alone isn't/ was never enough for me to townclear them.

Regarding the inactives and the hang, I feel like they might not be a good hang target for today because:

1) there isn't any

distinctively

scummy behavior unlike koba/sesq/arachnids
2) there are less interaction reads to go off of so a town flip from an inactive is less useful to us than a town flip from an active player

more thoughts coming asap; I'm a little out of date with the thread XD


also worth noting imo that sesq and koba have lessened their rhetoric (although I think I commented on this a while ago); tbh that followed getting pressured so it's kind of suspicious to me
I'm also interested to go back and read up on the quickhammer attempt to see who and how people were involved in that because it should hopefully be very telling with respect to the hang

JDye and alonzo are locktown for me atm although obviously things are subject to change

ranny also seems towny so a townread there

truthfully I might put arachnids at null or sl because his play reads more misguided and slightly arrogant newb-town but idk

actually sesq is p scummy. i just started rereading and their iso feels very self conscious. one sec let me quote some posts i think are scummy

as Dk is largely getting considered for the hang, suddenly backs down on sesq = towny

on the other hand their tone is like town ????????????? like it feels weird. their words scummy but tone town o.o

good thing is, is dk doesn't get killed tonight, there's a 2/7 chance of no kill which is nice

if I get killed for some strange reason investigate Arachnids and still be wary of DkKoba (keeping in mind that maf could holster tonight)

although I feel like there could be an inactive who is coasting scum so don't forget about the inactives. i'll hammer if for some reason we can't get the votes on sesq.

You know what, despite the result there was still alot of positives here.
Trust the newbie queue for grow a curveball like this!

I guess I could have come out of the gate a bit fiercer maybe and made more effort to control the narrative?
Towns never really in a good spot when I'm considered the diplomatic one of the bunch!
I was in a tough spot day one. It had a lasting effect on the game .
But my overall feelings are positive and I'm happy to have played with some good players and spotted a little diamond in the rough in ranny. Enjoyed having you as my rookie ride along!

More thoughts in the morning but there's still positives to be taken.

I really enjoyed playing with JDye, he's another with alot of potential I feel.
Good posting style , analytical, and willing to put in those 4am shifts, sure it went wrong for him this time, but hopefully he learns from it.

Adorable was a good cameo, put alot of pressure on notscience where the rest of us were too passive , earned their NK.

CW just needs to learn to shitpost, and recognise humour and have some fun in-between trying to make the big gamesolvey posts I feel like he wants to make. Try doing five posts having fun, then a serious post about people's reactions and your (reasonably solid ) gut instinct,rather than trying to shoot the big three pointers all the time, then bottling it because you are scared of missing.
