I felt your interactions with chk back then looked SvT; either scum!chk was poking you trying to get you frustrated, or scum!you got frustrated because chk didn't give you the space you were looking for to develop a plan or something. I don't expect town!TSE lie about a claim like that, he's not that kind of player I think. And I don't think scum!TSE would feel the need to fake a clear on his partner at that point, or at least I would expect Alch to tell him not to do that. My conclusion is that you're telling the truth, you did read the thread and it wasn't that somebody handed you out what you posted. Yeah I got the same impression when I saw it the first time, but then I saw his interactions with Eclipse and FL (I think it was him?) and what I got is that it was just a tone thing. When his whole tone gives "idgaf" vibes, a post about frustration about being vanilla is not enough. And if you lift the "real frustration" restriction, the question is, is faking being vanilla a town or a scum thing to do?

I don't have an answer for that.

That's a radical expectation of dramatic overnight personal growth. Whenever someone promises to change something about themselves, it doesn't happen far more often than it does (in some combination of not genuinely intending to make the change promised and not being able to change themselves)

I believe in people's will to change and get better; recognizing that you're wrong is a huge first step, and TSE's reaction to his ban has been pretty good. That, combined with his early game in this game, makes me believe in his progress as a player. Hell, I even WOTCed TSE in this game and now I know I would've regretted it.

But fuck me for wanting TSE to be better, right?

Hmmm that kinda looks like the claim he did here. I think the difference is that he actually claimed a role in here and he has kept going with the claim unlike in that game where he didn't mention the claim again after that post (I skimmed through his ISO after that post, I could be wrong).

You should keep trying anyway, you can scrape together extra EV. In AvP, I speculated that one of the fruits had revealed my role to the mafia as a penalty even though Jingle never disclosed it, this was based on how I had not yet been targeted by the mafia after an increasingly suspicious amount of time. I considered that knowing I would claim at L-1 and be unlynchable would make mafia unlikely to push for lynching me, which gave me a soft cop innocent a player who had pushed to lynch me. If I didn't spend lots of time speccing about the setup I wouldn't have had that at all, I was otherwise scumreading that player really. All from sitting around daydreaming. You can get really far. There's lots of misses but the thing is that all the possible value is "free".

I remember that, that was quite impressive, I NEVER knew the reasoning behind it until now!
