ok, quick thoughts about that.

A 7p game (given that it's a 2v5 game) is hugely scumsided without powerroles. To the point where cop/doc (the classic broken combination) barely balances it. This isn't a game where everybody has a one shot power, although that could maybe balance a 7p game if town is aware of that. In short, I don't buy it. I think the one shot part was included to reduce the risk of fakeclaiming a role.

Unless people can speak up for cmar, I intend to revote him. But for now, I think this should be discussed.

But I actually agree with the main paragraph. 1x Jailkeeper seems underpowered, and it seems made up so it doesn't really attract people's attention by claiming a strong PR. Also, a 1X Jailkeeper would mean a hell of powered town, or as Myko said, a town each with 1 shot abilites. And I don't buy a Jailekeeper in there with the other PR because in a game that can end in 2 days, having a town Jailkeeper means that it can backfire by blocking a strong PR. Any PR that can roleblock in a small setup makes the game very swingy.

Anything more than a 1-shot Jailkeeper plus, say, a protective and a limited investigative role (maybe not even the doc/bodyguard/whatever) would be ridiculously town-sided. If he is a Jailkeeper, 1-shot makes sense. Jailkeeper can be ridiculously strong. But then again, one mislynch and a NK and we're at 3 town/2 scum... I dunno.

Exactly, you need some ridiculous power in a 7p. Just a full JK wouldn't be enough. JK/watcher perhaps comes close. The odds of the watcher or JK actually getting a meaningful guilty at night is in the region of the 10-20%, which is reasonable since 5-2 mountainous sees almost half the games being won perfectly by scum. Add to that that the game isn't actually random, and 2 scum helping each other out with their votes at the start of the game and you can understand why 7p setups aren't made that often. Town power has to become close to broken to balance these games. Hence my example of cop/doc which has been an open setup a couple of years ago, iirc.

In the end, I think CMAR had no clue how strong the roles in a 7p have to be when he considered his fakeclaim.

@SAD. You have people who hammer too soon. I do have to say I forgot about the deadline, so you are right, it's a rather pointless unvote. I'm in all likelyhood going to vote him again tomorrow.

A straight Jailkeeper would be an appropriate role for 5-2 Mountainous. In a setup like this, town needs VERY strong power-roles with little or no weird modifications. 1-shot Jailkeeper is too weak unless literally everyone's power is similarly crippled.
