It's a conceivable gambit. Honestly, if it's goon-goon, no killing isn't necessarily terrible, especially if the actual cop or JK outs quickly on D2. Also works well in tracker/BP. Tracker/doc it'll probably screw you over (and lol wolves if it's cop who hits you N1), but it's defensible based on EV and potential town confusion.

Although picking between creeps and novice was hard as they both went silent today. Mewtaph cleared himself and you smith was mostly paranoia.

I don't know if it was that he gave up, or RL really did get the best of him. When I spoke with him it seemed like the latter tbh.

A no kill gambit there would be a SUPER risky play, but there's major potential reward as well. Obviously you pretty much always shoot if both goons are alive after D1 though.

Oh yeah. Should legit probably have replaced earlier in that case then. He did alright early so it kind of sucks he had those circumstances plus partner lynched d1.

Well if you think about it it's a pretty bad situation anyways though right? Tracker turns into almost-cop.
JK can maybe get you a false guilty with the no-kill too if you're lucky.

It's a shame Novice effectively gave up with the no kill but it would have taken some crazy scum play to survive the next 2 or 3 days.

Tracker is an almost-cop, but gets potential false innocent on you, and you can PROBABLY have a better chance to ID the PR after any kind of awkward or surprising posts D2 wrt reads (or just an outright claim, which as we saw can clearly happen D2).

The real downside is if another kill gets stopped along the way, then town can get a free extra mislynch, which is a really big deal.

Yeah you were on my "maybe" list. Town lean but it wasn't super strong. I had "read rask meta" on my D3 to do list. Was too lazy to bother D2

It's good you didn't, I think my play here is pretty different from my last town game. WAY less walls and cases

wrt your scum meta, though, it also felt different. Like, my sense is that as scum you tend to make occasional slips/mistakes, like the thing with the "I'm voting Ranger but not really" (our newbie game together), the sucking up to Ranger (the open you had w the Ranger/KTS hydra). Hadn't really noticed anything much like that this game; the mistakes you made seemed more NAI type things than anything truly indicative. But it wasn't close to a hard clear either at this point of the game.
