Anyway, @mods, actually I have a pertinent rule question about the actual game. Mafia cannot win unless they shoot NM, so it seems like they

must

do that since they ought to play to win. However, winning in that way looks very unlikely, as if it leads to ELo at all it's Snivy/Aureal and

is getting the axe in 95% of the worlds.
In this scenario, would it be legal for the mafia to purposelly

not

shoot NM in order to intentionally go for a draw, reasoning that drawing is better than losing and the chances of drawing in this way would be significantly higher than the chances of winning by playing correctly?

Before anyone says, I *was* playing to wincon. I know I don't do too well in limlo and suspicion was circling me, even if I managed to save myself I could have well lost town the game. So according to my eval it was +winrate to self hammer.

It should be ok, in chess that's how you do it, if you can only win if the opponent blunders then you try to find a threefold repetition or insufficient material. Common sense you know.

Just to clarify, it's not allowed. We might take a look at revising the wording of the rule so it's more clear, but the spirit of the rule is that we want games to go through the queue system, with exceptions allowed for Marathon games and ad hoc games in the appropriate Discord channel.

That should be fine, yeah. I think that rule about playing to wincon is mostly so people don't out their teammates out of spite, concede unnecesarily, and do other things like that. Anyone making a good faith effort to get a desirable outcome for their team will probably be fine, and a draw is certainly more desirable than a loss, especially if a draw seems more attainable than a win.
