It probably would be better to have a revolving open game dedicated to signing up newbies as per the newbie queue rules as they existed vs entirely disbanding the newbie queue. Maybe it reached a point where an entire dedicated queue of many newbie games wasn't/couldn't be a thing anymore but I do think there should have always been a place and a type of game where newbies could go to actually learn the site meta.

And I disagree wholeheartedly that these actions aren’t due to elitism. But we are all allowed to have our opinions. Mine just happens to be coming from first hand experiences over the past month.
As someone who played on this site for round about 6 years between 08-14 I'll say it's definitely possible to overcome elitism on the site and carve out your own niche as a player. I wouldn't say I ever fully conformed to exactly what players ever thought I should have been as a player.
