Well, yeah - defending someone day 1 is a behaviour often selected by scums.
Anyway - could we have the claim now?"Go tell the Spartans, thou who passest by, that here obedient to their laws we lie." -

FOS: Dodgy...
Not only do you defend IS day 1 - you also seem extremely keen to cover your butt with layers of thick vanilla and noodles in case Nannook turns out innocent.
Care to explain the series of vote Nanook/Unvote Nanook - you did not do anything suspicious/revote?"Go tell the Spartans, thou who passest by, that here obedient to their laws we lie." -

My problem: you hid with Corsato last night, and yet you defended another player earlier today.
Plus, there is this:
massive wrote: Also, it's awful convenient that Nanook managed to "live" in the only district of the game that's been revealed so far: The Harbor.

Sorry if we're wrong, Nanook"Go tell the Spartans, thou who passest by, that here obedient to their laws we lie." -

Yes. I did not want to bring Kahunia to five, and I have been suspicious of dodgy since yesterday, and still am, because of his voting pattern and contradictions - although Nanook was guilty, (and hence dodgy was not trying to cover his butt), his vote/unvote/revote/unrevote of a scum earns my vote for now. Way too nervous = probably knows something."Go tell the Spartans, thou who passest by, that here obedient to their laws we lie." -
Well BK, you didnt role claim and that leaves me in a tricky situation.
I understand what you were trying to tell me in your post and because of this, I am going to stick my neck out and unvote you because, if what you were implying to me is true, and I have no option but to trust you, then I think the town is about to make a huge mistake!
If however you have fooled me then I would be forced to role claim and explain my actions.
Unvote: BK
Whaa. I mean, whaa. If you are in a tricky situation, why unvote? If you're a cop and have investigated him, then why did you vote him in the first place? What do you mean, you have no option but to trust him? And if he has fooled you, by when will you realize it and when will you claim to confront him and will you even be alive by then anyway?
Vote stays."Go tell the Spartans, thou who passest by, that here obedient to their laws we lie." -

On top of everything that has been said: James Bond would not be wasting his time searching houses. He would probably be a vig, not a burglar.Got a licence to kill..."Go tell the Spartans, thou who passest by, that here obedient to their laws we lie." -

Okay - I am now convinced Sean Connery was naive. We already have two dead cops (neighborhood watch + cop) in a 13 players setting; their description does not say 'burglar', it says 'cop' and 'neighborhood watch'.
So when the mod writes: "thought he had learned about investigation through his role as James Bond", I assume he is trying to say something.
Waiting for Corsato."Go tell the Spartans, thou who passest by, that here obedient to their laws we lie." -

Hmm. Game going slowly, slowly, slowly. And many cops.
Need to think of a smart question to ask to Corsato. It will probably be something linked to Nanook's claim, because he claimed something similar.
In the meantime - Corsato, does it say in your role description that you drink alcohol?"Go tell the Spartans, thou who passest by, that here obedient to their laws we lie." -

Huh?? I'm trying to find hints regarding your sanity. Anyway - since Dodgy is confirming your night results, I guess sanity is not an issue.Corsato wrote: No, why?? I find it insulting that you believe that every homeless man is an alcoholic as well.
But then again - you're a brilliant player, Corsato... So if Dodgy actually posted the fact that he lived in the University district earlier in the thread, you may have linked this to Sean Connery's night publicly available night choices to come up with a very solid story. Hmm ?"Go tell the Spartans, thou who passest by, that here obedient to their laws we lie." -

Here's what I got:
- Either one more mafia, then we can still lynch wrong,
- Or two mafias (way more likely), in which case one wrong lynch = sudden death.
IS - care to explain how Corsato's investigation was wrong?"Go tell the Spartans, thou who passest by, that here obedient to their laws we lie." -

You mean - something in the lines of'Lynch the scum?'
The story from my perspective:
I knew Yggdrasil to be innocent because I successfully protected him night 2. Last night, I reread the thread and saw a post by Dodgy where he basically clears you. So I decided to protect HairyMezican, allow him to reduce the size of the town, and confront him on the next day.
FD did a wonderful job using his final vote on IS to suggest a doc claim. Nice, insidious, subtle."Go tell the Spartans, thou who passest by, that here obedient to their laws we lie." -

Huh? You're twisting my words . Yesterday, it was either you or Locus.
At night, I saw Dodgy's post, and felt okay with letting you kill. The post suggests that he investigated Locus.
Clearing Yggdrasil would have brought no benefit to the town. You would have counter-claimed me as doc, or claimed cop, or claimed whatever role, and I had no clue about Locus."Go tell the Spartans, thou who passest by, that here obedient to their laws we lie." -

Bah, had you chosen to kill me, my post asking FD why he was suspicious of IS would have been there for the town to build on.HairyMezican wrote:You knew that I was the killer yesterday, but said nothing.
Instead you waited until night, risking the chance that I would killyou
you protected the one person you knew to be guilty
all for little or no benefit.
All for little or no benefit, you say? Really? Let's see what Locus thinks."Go tell the Spartans, thou who passest by, that here obedient to their laws we lie." -

I made it clear I was not sure you were actually claiming doc.HairyMezican wrote:With 4 people around, competing doctor claims are easier to deal with than with 3 people around.
But even then - you are still wrong. (Mafia claiming doc + doc), with 4 people around, leads to deadlock."Go tell the Spartans, thou who passest by, that here obedient to their laws we lie." -

Okay, I did not work on probabilities when I decided my course of action.
Let's see:
50% chance for the town.HairyMezican wrote: If there are 4 people left, and the doctor knows for sure that 1 of them is innocent. There is no reason not to claim.
Best case scenario: No counter claims
- with this scenario 2 of the 4 are cleared, which is clearly better than only 1 of the 4 being cleared from a night-kill.
I tried to get the town to claim these kinds of roles yesterday night, when I mentioned that the proper course of action depended on the roles still available. They knew there was a doc around, they knew where I was coming from. No one claimed. And given the large number of dead cops, I can only assume there are no more cops. The more dead cops, the more cops still around, eh?HairyMezican wrote:
Worst case scenario: mafia counter claims
- Playing I protect A, and you protect B, and let's see who dies leads to deadlock if there are no investigative roles. With the large number of investigative roles in this game, and 2 people who potentially have one, it is somewhat likely that one of the 2 would have had one.
50% chance for the town.HairyMezican wrote:
This would be a very good scenario for the town.
When a mafia pre-emptively hints at doc, it's hard to get better than 50%, especially when you're not sure what his intentions are. Looking at my choices, well - yeah, you're right, maybe I did not get better than 50% chance. But I tried. And coming in this day, I was positive it was you."Go tell the Spartans, thou who passest by, that here obedient to their laws we lie." -

Little, little scum. I admire your bad faith. I didn't pushhard enough, eh? And the question I asked you - notclear enougheither, eh? Pro-town roles yesterday knew there was a doc. No cop claimed = no cop left.
Speaking of which, why did you not push for cops to come out? You're claiming doc after all. Do you feel you pushedhard enough?"Go tell the Spartans, thou who passest by, that here obedient to their laws we lie." -

You know what? Take your crap, and go sell it to Locus. It took you painfully long to come up with an explanation, and you're contradicting yourself. A doc last night would have tried to assess whom to protect and what the town's resources were.
Too bad you're not FD. You could have explained why he felt compelled to hint at doc when all he had to do was cast the lynching vote on IS. Definitely beneficial for scum. Totally uncalled for for a doc."Go tell the Spartans, thou who passest by, that here obedient to their laws we lie." -

Leo scum: ?
HairyMezican scum: ?

Just because of that line, you deserved to win. My attack was based on the assumption that FD would not remember screwing up. (Or that you would not see the screw-up).HairyMezican wrote:Yes, I am the doctor.
I am assuming that my Night 2 target of Corsato was what prevented the death that night.
Also, I know that despite this, FD voted to lynch Corsato Day 4, the only reason I can come up with is that FD wasn't paying that much attention.
And yes, it says so in my role description too... 8)"Go tell the Spartans, thou who passest by, that here obedient to their laws we lie." -
