A Night 0 kill of a random player?
Sounds like a serial killer to me, not a vig.
Vigs don't shoot Night 0. Serial Killers do. Mafia do. But not vigs.

I so totally agree with this statement:

If killa turns up mafia rather than SK, armlx is going to be his buddy.
But killa seven smells like SK, very badly.Squeezable icing, flaky pastry crust and sweet, gooey fillings are irresistible.

What? That's news to me. Seems to me, anything I say, players want to do the exact opposite.Battle Mage wrote:This is kind of infuriating, as you're a respected player who people listen to, and you dont seem to be putting the effort in here.
Come on now. The throat-slashing is soooooooo SK.Squeezable icing, flaky pastry crust and sweet, gooey fillings are irresistible.

Lloyd does that. He proxies his vote, and he self-votes. Look at his title. "Vote Lloyd" - that's where it comes from, his habit of self-voting. Early on, too. He doesn't hammer himself, he votes himself when there is a hint of a wagon on him.Battle Mage wrote:Ok, first and worst aspect of his play, is the particularly odd proxying of his vote to me.
Your analysis is correct, BM. Except when it comes to Lloyd. With Lloyd, all of this is nothing but a null-tell. I can think of a game where he did not proxy his vote, and did not self-vote. He was scum. I don't know how consistent his behavior his across the town-scum continuum. I would not read anything into it.Squeezable icing, flaky pastry crust and sweet, gooey fillings are irresistible.

Why does that make Lloyd scum? I don't see pressuring you to be a bad thing, no matter the angle the player chooses to take.Battle Mage wrote:Tries to instigate pressure on me based on semantics of grammar.
You might have something there. But that's all you got, really. Everything else amounts to a hill of beans. So his voting table lead nowhere. Yeah. Maybe that makes him scum.Battle Mage wrote:Another example i also spotted of him pretending to scumhunt was that table of votes he provided. Again, a nice original idea, but it didnt lead anywhere, or help us atall, and again, when questioned about this, he failed to respond.
I see no reason to halt the glorious Day 1 lynch of the SK for that.
I am not unvoting killa seven. Either farside or KS is the serial killer. OK they're both mindbogglingly stupid (well, farside's predecessor anyway) for killing Night 0. But the throat slashing gives it away, since we ought to pick one.Squeezable icing, flaky pastry crust and sweet, gooey fillings are irresistible.

Well, the title is the title, look up some old title fairy thread. That should be evidence enough that he self-votes.
And I've seen him proxy his vote to another player (MoS? Glork?) before. Best of the Internet? Himalayan mafia? Ask Lloyd, he probably can tell you which games.
That's not evidence of anything.BM wrote:Even his first post, is a vote for Khelv, with no reason given. Bearing in mind that the only random vote prior to this was by me, also on Khelv. Buddying again?
So?BM wrote:What is Lloyd’s ‘Miller-Mason’ comment either.
There is not real case against Lloyd, BM. He's being Lloyd. Why postpone the KS lynch? If KS turns out to be mafia, rather than SK, it's not going to look good for you, BM.Squeezable icing, flaky pastry crust and sweet, gooey fillings are irresistible.

A random vote? Yeah, weird. I'm going to add this to my list of scumtells.Battle Mage wrote:

Good point, that's true. I'd forgotten we were on deadline. I stand corrected and humbled.BM wrote:I pushed the wagon on Killa. I was the first vote, and encouraged a bandwagon until he claimed. Now ive unvoted, because we have about a week left until deadline, at which point he will be automatically deadline lynched anyway. There is no risk of him not dying today.
Because you are the one and only Battle Mage.BM wrote:But, TS, please tell me this. Why would i, as scum, bus my buddy as hard as possible for ages, only to suddenly stall his inevitable lynch at the very end?
Yes, but the scumtells you are offering are Lloyd-null-tells. I agree that he should be scrutinized, but you have to ignore the self-vote and the vote-proxying. Coming from Lloyd, that's meaningless.BM wrote:you have to be able to differentiate between Lloyd-town and Lloyd-scum.Squeezable icing, flaky pastry crust and sweet, gooey fillings are irresistible.

Now KS is buying time pretending he'll kill however the town wants him to kill. Right.
Unlike BM, I don't agree that we need to prolong today's discussion anymore. Time to go to night, and we'll have plenty to talk about tomorrow. Minus a few players that the scum will kill, so that we'll in fact be more efficient, having fewer players to examine, and if there are cross-kills, maybe it'll help finding scum etc. We have a chronic problem on the site with slow games, attrition, multiple replacements, and overly long days full of useless nonsense, thinking of another game where we had a 56 page Day 1 that consisted of cursing a troll/player who announced he hadn't read his PM. Let's be decisive, productive, and efficient.Squeezable icing, flaky pastry crust and sweet, gooey fillings are irresistible.

Why is TLP on auto-vig? Let the vig not kill TLP. What's so complicated? Why get a claim from another player? What if he's the doctor? He doesn't need to claim unless he's run up a wagon. I'm not liking this directing the vig, and extracting claims for nothing.Battle Mage wrote:Jack, please second my deadline postponement request. we dont want to lose another power role at this stage, and want a claim out of TLP before he gets vigged.Squeezable icing, flaky pastry crust and sweet, gooey fillings are irresistible.

This is complete and utter insanity.TheSweatpantsNinja wrote:If BM is a miller, then RC's claim corroborates his story.
Why on Earth would a player investigate a claimed miller? In case he gets an innocent result?
There is zero game logic in investigating a Miller.
I buy neither the claim, nor the night choice.
Also, a cult cop would announce all his innocents, not just the latest one. Being cleared of being cult doesn't mean confirmed town. Clearing them from being cult doesn't make them a NK target in any way, shape or form.

This is a 28-player game with only one expected night kill per night, possibly a maximum of two.Peers wrote:...but it looks like we're holding off on voting for some reason. I'm guessing so we can discuss who his buddies are so that we can hopefully vig them tonight?
It's only Day 2 and we're on page 63.
With a projected average of 2.2 deaths per day/nigh cycle, this game is expected to last between 12 and 13 days. At the rate we're going, and assuming we pick up speed, counting 25 pages per day, this game will grow to THREE HUNDRED PAGES.
The vig can decide who Rosso's buddies are if he turns up scum.
We have to be efficient, otherwise this game will last until after we're dead, and we'll have to beg our grandchildren to replace us (I'm meeting with my accountant on Monday to have a replacement secured in my will).Squeezable icing, flaky pastry crust and sweet, gooey fillings are irresistible.

Indeed, and I am EXTREMELY leery of the Miller/Hider claim, that's the kind of claim that's just tooooo scummalicious.dahill1 wrote:upon rereading khelvaster (animorph), he was always wishy washy about BM. one post he would be defending BM, the next attacking him.
The Miller/Hider claim explains two of the problems that scum might encounter in a game. The first problem is that they may be investigated and found guilty. Conveniently, BM declared himself a miller. The second problem is that the scum must explain his continued survival night after night. This is especially important if we have living vig, and the miller doesn't get nigthkilled and continues to live. So "hider" and "miller" makes a perfect combo for a scum claim.
Also, I see BM is very active and scheming. That's his scum persona, not his town persona.
The Miller/Hider claim is the real clincher. I don't believe it. I believe that BM is just plain scum.

For clarity's sake.
Normally, one would expect a cult cop to get a "guilty" on cults, and "not guilty" on non-cults.
However, Rosso seems to have gotten a "guilty" on a miller - but I too would expect that a miller would be innocent to a cult cop. However, BM was guilty to Rosso. This must mean that BM was culted. A culted miller/hider? That cannot be suffered to live.Squeezable icing, flaky pastry crust and sweet, gooey fillings are irresistible.

Correct.Battle Mage wrote:This is funny. Because earlier you were very happy to believe that i had a super power role. When i make a far less extravagant claim, you consider it less likely to be true. rofl.
I figured that a miller might be offset by having some pretty useful, maybe be even provable powers.
But a hider power means that you turn up guilty, and that you aren't being nightkilled. Fits a scum profile to a tee.Squeezable icing, flaky pastry crust and sweet, gooey fillings are irresistible.

Maybe I take your rhetoric too seriously.
You said you wanted to pressure CKD, but called VD a filthy scumbag. I thought that meant you thought VD was scummier than CKD, so I wondered why you weren't voting him.Squeezable icing, flaky pastry crust and sweet, gooey fillings are irresistible.

Case againstKscope
I find that Kscope started that game by being useful, which is very much out of character for him.
In particular, he votes BM, for contributing to "useless discussions then focusing on hunting scum (azwolging, newbies, cult, which are only usefull in MD, not IG), lurkerfocusing, wagonpushing, started to make some sense only after he got attacked, but later returned to his scummy self. Also, alot of his suspicions were based of either lurkers, people in the spotlight or just plain bandwagonning. "
I meant, that's a PhD dissertation, coming from Kscope.
But then, there's this post:
http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopi ... 906#969906
One again, on the Kscope scale, this post is like Encyclopedia Brittanica (the paper version of the internet).
So what's up with Kscope being wordy and useful? There must be something diabolical going on.Squeezable icing, flaky pastry crust and sweet, gooey fillings are irresistible.

Case againstMatt_S
Like Kscope, Matt_S got started on good ole BM, then briefly votes Van Damien.
http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopi ... 198#918198
In this post, Matt_S answers VanDamien's accusation of over-reacting by... over-reacting. But then he claims noob, so it must all be OK...
Next few posts he's on super-defensive mode.
After that, he flutters like a butterfly, voting, unvoting, FOS'ing, un-FOS'ing.
On the plus side he seems genuinely cooperative.
Then he goes on lurkerhunt, but I can't blame him.
Back to being defensive for a while.
I really hate this post of his:

No, after I skimmed, I put their names on a watchlist. Now I've had time to look at it closer. I'm most worried about Kscope, who started out pretty active AND useful (waaaaay out of character) and then he reverted to the regular Kscope.TheSweatpantsNinja wrote:TS, is there anyway I could get you to actually come to some conclusions? Oh no, we want MORE BM!!! Not less!
This whole farside vigging BM to prove that a miller who has been found guilty by the cult cop is indeed a hider, is absolutely preposterous.
Since he can only hide on alternate days, if BM is proven to be a hider-miller, he'll be killed by the mafia for (1) being proven innocent "sort of" or (2) being cult.
Is BM worth all this trouble since he's going to die anyway???
Is any Miller worth all this trouble?
Is any Miller found guilty by a CULT cop worth it?
How this game got to revolve around BM this, and BM that, like a freakin' Miller is the most valuable role ever is making me cry.Squeezable icing, flaky pastry crust and sweet, gooey fillings are irresistible.

Yes, but then on the alternate night, as a proven player, the mafia would then kill him, when he couldn't hide... That's why.Xtoxm wrote:What difference does it make anyway if he could only hide on alternate nights?

No, that's why we shouldn't waste a vig action to prove him, since he'd be dead the next day if we were successful... but since he can hide every night... the point is moot.Xtoxm wrote:

Argh!TheSweatpantsNinja wrote:As stupid as vigging BM may be, that's what farside said she would do, which will confirm his role. Lynching BM is the dumbest thing we could do.
What if the scum roleblocks farside because BM is scum and can't really hide, or even to cause mayhem?
Why on Earth are we wasting efforts confirming a freakin' miller!!!
Millers were created to be lynched. How a miller role ties in with a hider role is just too crazy for me to contemplate. Millers won't be nightkilled to begin with, why on Earth would they need to HIDE? They chances of blowing up are HIGHER if they do hide, than if they sit on their keisters being millers all night and staying home.
Why are we spending time on this? There are cops, masons, trackers, who knows, USEFUL roles that need to be confirmed/protected etc.
And sorry BM, but this so-called miller we wasting time on is BM, ilt's almost as bad as defending DrippingGoofball, I'm sorry, but BM is not Glork, know whadda mean?Squeezable icing, flaky pastry crust and sweet, gooey fillings are irresistible.
