I'll go and do Empking's survey and that's probably it from me w/r/t catch-up posts (I replaced in due to :pity:, don't expect great stuff from me).

Might give a few gut reads and stuff.

I'm probably just going to be sheeping town-reads this game though.

Apparently it was mastin not Empking.

Wow, I have a short attention span.

mastin2 wrote:I'm going to try something:

1: Why do you play Mafia?

I don't play Mafia, I win Mafia. :P

2: How old are you?

15, 16 in less than a month

3: How would you describe your general thought process?

I try to put myself in the poster's shoes/mindset.

4: What is your time-zone?

GMT

5: How do you approach unique problems in need of solution?

Depends how urgent the solution is. I might ignore it if it's not urgent; if it is I'd just stare glumly at it for a while I guess.

6: What is your favorite precious metal, and why?

Silver. Great Pokémon game.

7: How would you approach this game as town?

This paticular game: probably going to coast and be lazy and just generally go with my gut on most stuff

8: How would you approach this game as scum?

This paticular game: probably would still try and go with my 'gut' on as genuine a level as I can manage

9: What is your gender?

Male

10: Are you nervous?

Relatively speaking: not at all ([REDACTED])

11: What is your experience level?

Umm, wiki is basically up-to-date if you're looking for figures.

Answering in a qualitative (sp?) way: mixed. I have played well in the past (imo) but apparently I am perfectly capable of derping it up

12: What are your strongest emotions?

Anger, frustration

13: What's your general activity level?

Well, I'm quite good at procrastinating, but it really depends on a variety of factors.

14: What is your plan in this game?

Coast, go with gut.

15: Which do you prefer: RVS, RQS, or other? (If Other, please explain.)

RVS.

16: Do you have a reputation? What for?

Well, I don't really have much of a reputation for anything that I know of. I do seem to get a criminally high % of scum PMs though (see wiki).

17: Do you prefer playing as town, scum, or other? (If Other, please explain.)

This is an interesting question for me personally.

Early on in my career I got 4 scum Role PMs IN A ROW (making my scum:town PMs ratio 5:2), so naturally I felt my preference swinging towards scum, but recently I've been on a town-streak of sorts and I'm finding it quite enjoyable.

18: What are your favorite three roles?

Sensor, Mason Recruiter, Mafia Traitor

19: What order are those favorite roles in?

Order given.

20: What is your stance on lurkers?

Irritating (if it's not me)

21: How do you plan on catching scum?

Gut. Maybe a case here and there.

22: What do these questions mean to you?

Some were boring, some were fun to answer.

23: What is the airspeed velocity of a coconut-laden swallow? :P

idrc

24: You see someone waving their arms and directing you to go right. How do you respond?

It depends what I'm doing. If I'm running/cycling/whatever I'm more likely to go right but if I'm just sitting down I'd probably just stare at them.

No reads to share yet. Going to coast some more before I decide.

If mastin would direct me to a wall naming the scumz I'd be grateful. Too lazy to ISO. Might do it if mastin hasn't got back to me by tomorrow.

...

Wow, the activity in this game is ridiculous.

I was planning on being all lazy and shit, but by the looks of things I'll actually be one of the more active people. >_____>

Skimming through ISOs and assembling reads.

Bomberman - town
DavidX - scum
Empking - town
***Estyn - leaning town
Fool_Hardy - town
Foolish Fool - no clear read... but leaning scum on gut
Hoppster - scum
Johhog - scum
LordChronos - scum
**LTP Mafia - null
mastin - town
Oversoul
- leaning town
**red-FF - town
Secret Project - scum
***Vifam - leaning town

Any questions?

Well, yes and no. Obviously I don't mean it so in that respect it's a joke, but I wanted to see what people said (or if they noticed it at all), hence my 'Any questions?'.

So is there some kind of unspoken agreement that the game is paused at the moment then?

Okay.

So.

Oversoul will

At least for the foreseeable future while I try and work something out.

Much better lynch than Oversoul.

Not just that, your post was very sorely lacking a DavidX vote. Empking at least has something he can/is point(ing) to to explain his vote, but I see no explanation for your lack of a DavidX vote.

While I don't object to a David Xanatos lynch per se, I don't understand your reason for wanting to rule Oversoul out. What bothers me is him (a) self-voting; and then (b) after the town backed off of him, he cites his self-vote as proof positive that he is town. What town-motivation is there in that sequence?

This is the one major issue I have with Oversoul and I completely agree that it doesn't make sense from a town PoV.

Unfortunately people are stupid/selfish sometimes. I'm having to attribute this instance to stupidity/selfishness for the time being, as my doubts from the self-vote are completely overruled, pertaining to matters which I'm not at liberty to discuss.

Yeah? That's failtown if anything.

You pointing this contradiction out in the manner that you did means one of two things:

>> You're trying to discredit and undermine him

Would you agree?

mastin2 wrote:This game really needs my love. I was wise to note I was busy, but it was more-so than I had anticipated. Not that it apparently matters, since nobody has PM'd me about my absence. (It's kinda sad. Having that feeling. That you could not post for a week. That you could fade off the site. And that nobody would notice or care. That's what this game makes me feel like.)

I was actually just thinking of requesting a prod on you (as you yourself mentioned that you wanted to be prodded). :P

@ Mod: Please prod the people who haven't posted since game re-opening

Back to srs bsns, while projectmatt and Vifam are undoubtedly coming out of this Johhog situation looking better than Johhog (in more ways than one), I'm satisfied that DavidX remains a much better lynch. While Johhog's reaction to matt isn't dissimilar to what I would expect from scum flailing in the face of confrontation (with a hint of 'scum-caught-for-wrong-reasons'), Johhog has been at least somewhat productive. DavidX is happily wallowing in his own uselessness.

Johhog wrote:And trolling wtf? Reaction testing is NOT trolling. Everything I've done in this game have a reason. I get what you mean with policy votes but sorry to say it, you're wrong. A vote is not a lynch. And I can agree that they're anti-town, but they're never scummy. Policy is policy, meaning I would do the same as scum or town. No things I've done has a scum motivation. I suppose I could be extremely intelligent scum playing a whole new scumgame which no one have tested before, but nah.

Don't be stupid. Anything at all has several possible scum motives behind it. Take for instance your vote on DavidX:

The vote you made for DavidX could be to get a mislynch. It could be to get town-cred (ie. a bus). It could be to try and deflect attention of you. It could be to try to look town through scum-hunting. It could be to distance from a scumbuddy.

This is just one of several things you have done this game. Every action has possible scum-motivation behind it.

25A: Thrill of victory.

25B: Yes, I do. Playing for thrill of victory is the only way that the game is playable. Playing for any other reason undermines the integrity of the game.

ummm so

the thing about Otolia is

that Otolia can be pretty dreadful at this game sometimes.

In a Newbie game we played together, I was caught by Otolia as scum... because, essentially, I replaced in upon request from the Mod, and my predecessor site-flaked from 3+ games.

Which is
obvobvobv
indicative of scum.
