That said, I'm content where my vote is right now. Johoohno should have been the lynch yesterday. He should be the lynch today. I'm increasingly convinced that Rosso is a jester (irony) and is either just trying to get himself lynched or is just getting his jollies in this game by being a fucking dick.

Sorry for the language, but this is the least fun MS game I've participated in on this forum so far. I'd vote for it to be abandoned if I could.

In the interests of keeping the game alive, I am allowing RangeroftheNorth to replace back into his old slot (which needs filling due to UROE's flakage) on a provisional basis. If he fails to post for 4 days (RL days spent in night not included), he will not be prodded; instead, he will be replaced.

Still looking for a Rosso Carne replacement. Earwig has failed to post for 4 days; I am looking for a replacement for him as well.

I apologize for having to replaced. It was my own fault, although I did have real life stuff interfering. Nevertheless, I should have more time now to devote to this game.

I thought Johoohno was the right lynch for yesterday, and I still think he's the right lynch for today. Nothing I've seen so far has changed that.

I really hate the way Rosso has been playing this entire game, as I think it has been extremely detrimental to the town, and I'm very glad he's being replaced. I'm willing to give his replacement the benefit of the doubt, as I think a large part of his play has had more to do with his playstyle than his alignment.

My second choice for a lynch today would be Earwig. He has continuously been doing the bare minimum to get by. He has posted only rarely, and usually only when under pressure to do so from the entire town.

Since I seem to be the vote of the day I'll give the town my view of things before I hang.

I see

as the most scummy (as I've declared and explained in earlier posts).
I'm still suspicious of

Rosso

, but he is in close company with

Earwig

(since keeping a low profile in this town is probably one of the easiest plays for scum).

seem to be a follower without much content.

has been spreading his vote all over the town. I haven't checked if that is his playstyle, but I find it noteworthy also. Both this day and the last he switched votes really close to the deadline.

has been rollercoasting on my scum list. In the beginning I found him very pro town, but at the end of day one and onward he has really dropped in trust (stating that he wil be ignoring (my) posts and entering pointless bickering, with SlySly, isn't my idea of pro town).

Nyktorion

has appeared pro town almost all through the game. However, he took ryan's side in the argument between ryan and Blackberry in the beginning (and we now know Blackberry was a vanilla at the time).

I have a hard time to read. Sometimes I see him as scum (dropped of Tamuz a bit easy day 1 for instance), but I can understand why he is on me, although being a bit too single minded.

is hard to read. He is keeping a low profile and then there is the debacle of him not reading the posts thoroughly (page 11 and onward).

I voted for 6 of you (including one random). I've had good reason for every one of them, including yours. My vote record has no relation to your alignment however, unless you are trying to point out that it is impossible for all 6 of you to be scum, meaning my radar isn't the best. My answer is that votes are for pressure as well as getting a lynch (though this seems to have little effect on Earwig).

Rosso is very fortunate that I had not found a replacement for him, and he gets to stay in the game. The same policy that I announced previously still applies: if Rosso fails to post at least once every 4 days (time spent in Night excluded), he will be replaced.

Apparently, in the little pocket of the universe that this mafia game is set in, there are many things standing in the way of this lynch mob's effort to hang the scum.

First, there is the Mafia itself, which has a vested interest in not being caught and appears to be doing everything in its power to prevent its destruction.

Second, there are a large number of apathetic people who just don't care enough to even show up to the meeting, let alone speak up or cast their vote.

Third, there is the fast-setting sun. Since the night is the realm of beasties and ghoulies and sneaks and thieves and secrets and Mafia hitmen and other things that go bump in the night, sensible townspeople go to their houses and lock the doors when the sun sets. This means that it's even easier to persuade people to hang a man while the sun is setting - after all, without a noose there are no dead Mafia!

Fourth, there is the apparent inability of the mob to tell friend from foe. Case in point: Johoohno, who was run up by a mere quarter of the mob at sunset today. A brief check confirms that he was a perfectly ordinary member of the town - he even had the "Harmless Innocent" card in his pocket!

Oh well. Better luck tomorrow, eh?

"Hello, everybody. We begin our broadcast today with a pair of horrifying stories. Two members of the town were found dead last night. First, there was Earwig. This notorious couch potato/slacker was found dead in his home this morning. We go to our correspondent Rex Porter for details."

"Hello, Ann. I'm at the scene of what is clearly a terrible tragedy. At 3:00 this morning, police responded to a call from a neighbor, alleging that Earwig's louder-than-usual music was creating a domestic disturbance. When they arrived at Earwig's house, however, they found that the front door had been broken down. Inside, they found Earwig's body. He had been killed by an unknown assailant with a gun, who killed him with a bullet to the head while he sat in front of his TV. When the authorities checked to see if he had any posthumous connections to the recent Mafia scare in the city, they found that he was just another innocent civilian, Innocent Townsperson card and all.

Foul play is suspected."

"Thank you, Rex, for that insightful commentary about this tragic crime. Unfortunately for the peace and safety of this town, Earwig was not the only person killed in cold blood last night. We go to correspondent Jo Nalist, who is reporting from what was formerly the home of Rosso Carne."

"Thank you, Ann. I'm standing at the ruins of the house where Rosso Carne lived. As you can see, all that remains of the house are smoldering ruins. At about 12:00 last night, a massive explosion shook Rosso Carne's house. Firefighters rushed to the scene and succeeded in putting out the fire, but were unable to save Rosso, who was in the house at the time and is believed to have perished during the explosion. A preliminary investigation of the scene indicates that Rosso had an Innocent Townsperson card in his possession, and had no connections to the Mafia incidents of late. The Fire Marshal at the scene reported that he believed that foul play was responsible, and that a bomb or missile was likely responsible for Rosso Carne's demise."

I would think that due to there being only one death N1, it might be a night vig or a suicide bomber. SKs kill every night usually, don't they? Correct me if I am wrong.

A lot of times, serial killers will refrain from killing for a couple of nights in an attempt to hide their existence. The fact that RC was killed does lend itself to the possibility that it was a vigilante rather than a serial killer, but that is by no means definitive evidence one way or another.

Ah alright, I didn't know if SKs had a choice or not...most of my playing experience comes from RL and not these forums.

Whoever killed earwig killed slysly, both were shot, and rosso was killed by another entity with a bomb or nuke. So I just went through the wiki and found all the roles that could have killed rosso besides the mafia.

Army Vet- kills first person to target them
Sk- would have made no choice night 1
Vig- we could have a one shot vig here or a vig with multiple kills
Terrorist- I'm leaning towards terrorist who BOMBs, but the wiki says they bomb during the day.

We probably have a (one-shot?) vig or a SK here. I doubt that there is any suicidal role involved here (like the army veteran described by Battousai, or a suicide bomber). In that case, we would have had some non-vanilla role description in the night scene. Rosso has not targeted anything that could have triggered his nuking (he had no special role, and voted for a vanilla). Furthermore, he was a vanilla, so he hasn't sacrificed himself for anything.

The thing is, I think the fact he was nuked is a significant factor here. Why not hanged, stabbed, push down a flight of stairs, etc... instead? Would a vig nuke someone moreso than a sk?
