I have no idea whether Coron is going to show up as scum or town (I can see arguments for both), but my goodness that was a *lot* of posting overnight, guys. I could not believe how many new pages you'd managed to create in less than twelve hours. Urgh.

I have to go and train people now, so by the time I come back, no doubt Coron's allegiance will have been revealed and we'll be in night.

But - if this works out well it'll be good fortune rather than good play. Scum can manipulate lynches much more easily when less-than-majority is needed for the lynch, and this has quite possibly happened here.

Those last 6-7 pages of fervent discussion? Excellent, excellent stuff. It's a real shame only about four of you were there to have it. Here's what I think:

Near is probably town; the level of genuine self-sacrifice when put on the spot makes it highly unlikely he's not, unless, as others have said, he's scum

Coron (which we'll have evidence/counter-evidence of very shortly).

Guardian is either an idiot who'll lead us all to our graves, a master scum-hunter who'll lead us to a glorious victory, or scum playing the fiddle like a pro. Having been the recipient of one of his "ya gotta TRUST me" bandwagons, and seen another on Yosarian just before the end-of-day madness, in which he started

DBE could be scum as much as she ever was, needs revisiting.

mbf... I dunno. I get a bad vibe, he managed to effectively instigate the Coron lynch without fighting for it, but that probably was genuine coincidence given the speed it all went through.


Basically I think Near is off of the menu and, depending on how the lynch goes, Guardian, DBE and others are back on it.

As the sun started to set, the town had reached a decision. Near was not going to speak, so he had to die.

Half of the elders left the group to pick up the dusty rope, which had not been used for years. The rest remained behind to hold Near until his fateful hour. But when the sun set, a tear ran down Near's cheek.

G - That's it!
All - What?
G - Near... he is innocent! And Coron is guilty! I'm sure of it!
N - But he said he was someone important...
G - No, folks, listen here...

A furious discussion followed - and at the very last moment, when Coron was just returning with the lynching implements, the group rushed him and quickly ran him down.

Day 2:

EvilGorrilaz was the quiet, pensative type. He liked being by himself, and recent events only increased his introspective nature. No one saw him during the lynching of Coron, and no one saw him head back to his cottage by himself that evening.

In the early hours of the next day, the village awoke to the sounds of shots being fired - everyone gathered in the center of Montescuro, and it took quite a while before they realized that EvilGorrilaz was the one missing this time.

Two people were sent to check in his house and, surely enough, the door was missing, and EG's body was found laying on the floor, several bullet wounds through his chest and abdomen.

The villagers prepare a quick funeral for the departed, before discussing what to do next.

Preemptively: I thought Coron was a lot scummier than Near for reasons outlined. I find it likely from Near's play that Near is indeed town, much more likely than I'd ever have thought Coron to be. Sorry for rush lynching the tracker, but I think it was the best option we had. His claiming was entirely out of order, his trying to get DBE to claim was bad, his play was in general, bad, and Near was a worse lynch, and so was DBE.



Secondly, how the hell did the scum decide to kill Evilgorillaz. I was pretty suspicious of him reading over the game last night.

I still don't know what possessed you guys to do such a quick turnaround. It's scummy, you don't get to shrug this off and say "sorry". Fact is at one part of yesterday's last minute rush, I was being touted as the possible lynch, and you would've done that without even knowing what my role-claim would've been. The only reason you didn't was because you couldn't get enough votes with the few people you had.

Yeah, that last minute Coron wagon was just bizzare. Mike, Guardian, could you explain again why you guys thought Coron was scum? The argument you guys kept giving was basically "Coron is scum who claimed tracker in order to somehow disrupt the Near wagon", and that never made any sense at all to me. And it seems that during the night you decided that Near was actually town, which made the argument even more absurd, and yet you went ahead and lynched Coron anyway. Could you explain your actions here?

Townies only claim when near deadline or at lynch -1 at threat of them being lynched.

Coron claimed a while before deadline, and because he "felt pressured by my attac" of one vote

town players who do this draw the doc to them, MAYBE, IF THERE IS ONE, and have given the scum more info. there is damn little reason for a townie to do what Coron did.

scum otoh would hope to deflect all attention from them, since "ooh they are a power role". also, draw doc protect is AWESOME for scum, free range to kill whomever. Also they might draw out another investigative role like you said. if a cop for instance claimed, coron could be like "OH, but COP + tracker = legit". ANd wouldnt even be lycnhed maybe, and get a counterclaimd cop.

Town ==> VERY LITTLE to gain from claiming.
Scum ==> SUPER LOTS to gain from claiming.
Premise: Coron is a rational agent
Conclusion: Coron, acting rationally, only would have claimed like he did as scum.

Because a large part of your convincing isn't logic, it's showboating.

Why? Why is drumming up bandwagons I find to be good bandwagons suspicious? How does that possibly follow?

If I had unlimited day-vigs that ended the day, would I be 'suspicious' for using them every day to kill my best guess of scum -- knowing that my best guess may be wrong, but is not scum influenced?

If I could convince, in some manner, a majority of players every day, to lynch a player of my choice, would I be 'suspicious' for doing so to lynch my best guess of scum -- knowing that my best guess may be wrong, but is not scum influenced?

Dasquian, I hate to break it to you, but lynching players you find suspicious, and convincing others to do so, will never be a scum tell. At least not in my book.

You've failed to demonstrate in any manner that Coron wasn't my best guess of possible lynches as to which would be a scum lynch. It was, so I tried to, and succeeded in, making it happen.
