I used to think that, then David Tennant stuck around for more then one season, and totally grew on me.
Granted, Tennant is awesome, but to me, nothing beats Eccleston's manic grin.

Broken logic. In SSW, I saw consecutively bigger scumtells, which made me replace my random vote with a semi-random vote, that with a non-random vote, and then there was an OMGUS vote against the BS case on me, of course.

I'd take a look at rofl. I think that was a pretty convincing claim. What makes you so sure farside still should be today's lynch?

I'm going to do a PBPA of rofl as soon as I'm finished with Monday's exam.

no doing a pbpa is fine i am just interested in what in particular made you jump immediately to me from farside.
Your reaction to the claim. Of course, it was the obvious claim, and the safe claim for scum of either faction... Damn! Okay, I see where you're coming from now. Anyway, now that I have it scheduled, I'm doing the PBPA. I don't like your reaction to the proposition.

I've reconsidered regarding farside's claim. But the choice was because you were the first to pounce on farside's claim. Now I realize that this was a bad reason, but your reaction to my proposition telling enough for me to do that PBPA.

I was wondering when someone would say that. But BW work on helping conversation and this game is more silly at this point.
your vote did nothing to actually promote game related conversation, and the fact that these votes are still silly makes a four vote wagon even more suspect.
Double standard. Did rofl's vote do anything to promote said discussion?

Valid point, although answered in the stead of dcorbe. b]Weak scumtell[/b] Also, again, just a one-liner.

Post 13:

There's nothing that can be said about this.

Vague buddying-up attempt?

The attack on farside is pretty much justified.

Summary:
No real substance, therefore no real read. Not especially scummy, I don't see the effort (although now I'm just being a hypocrite) what with all the one-liners. Gonna have to do a more serious reread.

rofl, you're right, that analysis wasn't fair exactly. But what do you expect when PBPA's function to prove someone's scumminess? And you've pretty much got it all wrong. My main deduction was that there is nothing inherently scummy about you, as of now, that I could find.

One-liners aren't all that scummy by themselves (hence weak scumtells), but consecutively short replies mean low contribution, which doesn't really help.

All those weak scumtells don't add up to anything, though, because there's nothing to connect them, and I'm sure I'd be able to find as many small tells in anyone's posting. You're just not trying hard enough for my vote.

Farside, I don't know why I unvoted. To tell you the truth, I was pissed. But the logic was pretty much that the way you pointed at dcorbe with "when I'm gone, look at him" was pro-town because you didn't say "lynch him", rather "look at him". Pretty lame, yeah.

I dunno what's with me, or with this game. I've read through for what I think was the sixth time, and the only vaguely strange thing that I could find was Grimmy mentioning a deadline on page 4, I think. I really have to work on this some more. I'll put the farside PBPA together in one or two hours.

Farside, post by post

Posts 0-3: pre-game chatter.

Post 4: random vote.

Post 5: joke post.

Post 6: votes dcorbe, the only reason I can discern is that he hasn't been in enough newbie games or that he doesn't have an avatar.
Probably not a serious vote.
It must have been serious at some level, because it was the fourth vote on dcorbe.

Post 7: claims that the dcorbe bandwagon helps conversation.
farside22 wrote:
roflcopter wrote:dcorbe wagon is being ridden by scum, methinks

I was wondering when someone would say that. But BW work on helping conversation and this game is more silly at this point.
I believe it was iceman who said that a wagon for lack of avatar won't promote game-relevant discussion. I agree to a point with this.
very weak scumtell

Post 8: asks Rishi to elaborate on dcorbe being "pissy".

Post 9:
farside22 wrote:giving so thoughts on Mr. Blond so far I'm in a couple of current games with him. I will just say that he seems like this in all the games. I would say he is not a great scum hunter by any stretch of the imagination.
dcorbe trying to derail the conversation and buddying up in game is noted. Surye and icemanE oh and celebloki going along with it also noted. So many people to choose from. One among them could be scum.
I feel good about roflcopter so far. He was right to point out my comment and question me further about it. I'm feeling good about my vote ATM, however.
fos surye, icemanE and celebloki
the post which many, and among them I declared to be designed in part to buddy up to rofl. I think it's farside who first tries to make a serious case based on the assumption that the SD scummer interlude was dcorbe's attempt at derailing the conversation. This is misrepresentation, and if farside hadn't commented on it, the offtopic discussion between the SD guys would've stopped there. Farside trying to make a bigger issue out of it than it is is a
strong scumtell
. Also, in the second part, she FoSes the SD scummers, which is at least understandable, but also iceman, who, rather than taking part in the offtopic conversation, scolded dcorbe for the subject change. It's not as if iceman's post was much further back from farside's.
weak scumtell

EDIT, almost forgot: in the beginning of the post, farside tries to discredit Mr. Blonde, a possible attempt at clearing Mr. Blonde's suspect of the moment, hey it's farside. Or another possible explanation is she tries to dismiss Mr. Blonde's vaguely scummy attacks with meta reasoning.
weak/very weak scumtell

Post 10:
farside22 wrote:I'm just putting my thoughts down. Derailing a conversation is bad. Saying hey we should hook up for drinks looks like buddying up.
restates that this discussion doesn't belong in the thread. States for the
first
second time that dcorbe's offtopic conversation was in fact buddying up. This is craplogic. dcorbe wouldn't gain anything gamewise from a couple drinks with scummers.
weak scumtell

Post 11:
farside22 wrote:If I could put my finger on it. dcorbe converstations and comments just arent' sitting right with me. He brings up the Sd thing and now is getting pissy with others mentioning it. You know that when someone is too nice thing. (i call it a politian smile in RL) well that's what I feel reading him is someone who will smile while talking to you then stab you in the back the moment you turn around.
This seems like misrepresentation: dcorbe isn't getting pissy with others mentioning it, he's getting pissy when people keep reasserting that this topic should die, because the topic won't die this way exactly because of the constant reassertion.
weak/strong scumtell
. And the feeling that dcorbe's intentions are the opposite of what he says is fine, but farside including this as a point in the case against dcorbe is also a
weak scumtell

I don't think I'm reaching. Please look at those who were on my wagon. I don't think my vote against dcorbe is wrong. I say look at him tomorrow.
The claim. It's the obvious claim for scum, and even if it's true, it's not confirmable.

Some of what I wrote didn't come through. He was defensive on a simple matter. It sounded pissy. There were 4 votes but not everyone was serious at the time and sometime BW help to find scum or get someone worked up that turns out to be scum.
I don't see how the last part of the last sentence connects with the rest. "Sometime bandwagons help to find scum" is fine by itself, but it doesn't connect with the rest of the post, which is about why dcorbe was being too defensive.

Post 15: says she changed her opinion on dcorbe's reply to Rishi (the post for which she accused dcorbe of being over-defensive). Nothing special here.

Post 16: filler

Post 17: withdraws opinion that dcorbe's defensiveness is scummy. Protown list without explanation. States case against me (Korts) and votes. This I'm not analyzing since I have replied to the points, I believe.

Post 18: filler (prods)

Post 19: advocates own lynch (?).
scumtell?
refuses to give reasons for protown list.

Post 20: reply to Tekkactus.

Post 21: filler/setup.

Posts 0-2: pregame chatter.

Post 3: scolds Grimmy for spreading suspicion. The format of suspcion, if I want to spin it in a very evil way, is a bit incriminating (STFU of suspicion almost implies that dcorbe is warning Grimmy not to spread his suspicions like that) but it was probably just a joke.

Tekkactus's avatar reminds me of some old cartoon show about some kind of Living Starship.

icemanE also has a Good tastes in cartoons.

Rolfcopter and kortz must be blind. Grimmy's avatar cleary depicks a satirical joke about how much gas prices suck.

Dcorbe needs to chill and get an avatar too.

Anyone else besides me remember that Mr. Blonde was the name of a Bad Guy in the Perfect Dark Game genre?

I have heard of and/or played with you farside22, Rishi, and Surye, so hello to you guys aswell.

It's funny how you interpreted my post as emotional or that I was otherwise trying to be disruptive rather than a random event and an even more random vote.
I think dcorbe read too much into a single sentence. "Chill out", to me, doesn't equate to "you're emotional or otherwise trying to be disruptive".

Post 5: replies to iceman's "why no avatar" with "is it a scumtell?" I guess this is a prime example of why people are calling him pissy.

Post 6: notes the no-avatar wagon; promises to comment on it in a few hours (he doesn't, not that it's especially incriminating).

dcorbe wrote: We're 4 pages into day 1 and I've barely posted at this point. The only post I've made so far that should be interpreted as pissy is my STFU of Suspicion on Grimmy, but it didn't seem to bother him as much as it bothers you and I even tried to excuse myself a few posts later (which you're either ignoring or haven't read yet).
WTF? I ignored this at first, since it was nothing relevant, but how and when did dcorbe try to excuse himself a few posts later? Between the STFUoS-post and this one, not once does he mention Grimmy. Changing history ftw.
strong scumtell

Post 8: asks for pre-game tirade to be forgotten.

Posts 9-11: SD offtopic.

Post 12: asks farside to prove her claim of dcorbe buddying up.

Post 13: still about the SD thing.

Post 14: joke-post.

Post 15: calls me out not to bring up the SD topic again.

Post 16: follow-up of post 15; FoS on me for pushing a non-issue (I wasn't pushing, I was stating that I don't like how people are still talking about it) FoS on Grimmy for... well, for being silly, I guess.
I need feedback on this, since I'm involved in this particular tell/whatever; this is a bit misrepresenting me.

Post 17: calls out farside basically for misrepresentation. Nothing to see here, move along.

At this point I'm inclined to agree. Plus it's time to start turning up some pressure on people.

So.

Unvote

Vote: farside22
I don't like people calling their votes pressure votes, it leaves an escape route in case of a mislynch, plus by stating that it's a pressure vote it won't have any real effect. Also, piggybacking on rofl's, well, call it a case.
weak scumtell

Post 19: for the most part, valid defense against farside. but, quote the last sentence:
dcorbe wrote: A lynch this early on D1 is more likely to have a bad result rather than a good one.
This seems to be an attempt at rationalizing a farside-mislynch.
weak scumtell if farside's town

Post 20: miscounted votes stuff.

Post 21: calls out farside for inconsistency. States belief that farside's arguments boil down to personal.

Post 22: miscounted votes stuff.

Post 23: again, trying to rationalize a D1 mislynch.

dcorbe wrote: You mind explaining why you think I'm scummy instead of trying to subliminally plant the idea into everyone's head?

It must have taken you a little while to think through and type all of that out. You could have taken 5 extra minutes to explain it.
If you don't mind, I didn't insert iceman's post that dcorbe quoted, because it's way too long, and dcorbe didn't quote just the part he was addressing, but I didn't find any attempt at "subliminally planting" the notion of dcorbe-scum in the quoted post. Go see for yourself. Overdefensiveness without reason is the sign of paranoid scum.

Gah, and this is only the first half of the analysis for now. No more time. Will finish tomorrow as soon as I can.

why is dcorbe doing some actual scumhunting a post which you label "nothing to see, move along"?
With move along I'm trying to say that this is fair content, and there is nothing scummy I can find about it.

dcorbe's points I'll reply to when I have more time.

Gah, sorry. Forgot to read this thread for a couple of days, I see some long posts since last time I was here. Gonna read and post second half of PBPA today, when I get home. Finally, exams are over. Woohoo.

Congrats to Muffin and Grimmy, especially Muffin for salvaging his (our) role before it got too late. Sorry guys, I had to drop out, I was just overburdened by everything at the time, and I got in too many games, and had backlog in almost every one. It worked out for the best, though.

One thing to point out, though: I kept reading on, and I had to headdesk several times. I still don't know how both muffin and Grimmy missed rofl being mason. I mean, if it hadn't been obvious until then, from the whispering. It took bloody long, until nearly the end of the game.

Still, nicely played game. Congrats to everyone.

I seriously wish now that I'd stuck to this game and given it less effort and more thought.
