HAI GUYZ!
sorry for lurking, i didn't manage to get online yesterday.
gimbo's claim is strange, but it's pretty solid.
now, i kinda agree with surye's plan, since
if surye refuses to give the 1-up back, and we lynch him, we
a) hit a scum (always an achievement for day 1)
b)can play as if the mushroom never existed (which, since that's how we were playing before gimbo's claim, isn't that great a loss, yes?)Showi'm this good at mafia:

are you truly that dense?TheSweatpantsNinja wrote: In another news, I don't see nearly enough coin-claiming.
in a game that involves coins, there are probably coin-stealing roles.
having everyone coin-claim is just giving a coin-stealer knowledge on who to target.
...but perhaps that's exactly what you wanted?

i wasn't voting you for asking us to coin-TheSweatpantsNinja wrote: Also, as people like incrediball would know had they bothered to read the thread, if we use all our coins, the mafia can't take them by killing, hypothetical coin thieves can't steal coins we don't have, and we, get, say five investigations. well, find a confirmed townie to give all our coins, then give them our coins, yes? (i'm fully aware that you'll be specifying your coins as you pass them over)TheSweatpantsNinja wrote:Um, as you as you have a plan for pooling that doesn't involve people saying, "I have this many coins," you let me know.Showi'm this good at mafia:

what do you mean, catch liars?TheSweatpantsNinja wrote:Indeed we will, except then we don't have a claims process where we might catch some liars.
And if we give all our coins to one person, they'd just have to redistribute them anyway.
i was under the impression that you can't just say "give all my coins to X" but you had to specify the number, yes?
then a scum who claims to have only 1 coin isn't going to be dumb enough to then give 3 coins to trusted townie, yes?
or... were you suggesting that, rather than centralize the coins before distributing them, we share them out by, say, a player with 8 coins giving 3 coins to a player with 2 coins?

i should probably point out at this point that when you said "coin-claim" i thought you meant claiming alone. as in without a pool. i am ashamed.

if you don't agree with someone's idea, that doesn't automatically make it scummy.Gimbo wrote:because right now. It's either Cream or TSN, and its not a rash thing. I've had my eyes on both, but TSN just asked for a coin claim, even though we've already mentioned how that is dangerous and eh also mentioend so solution that doesn't seem to be helpful in my eyes.
although you're right, in that i still don't really endorse a coin-claim, unless it's immedietly followed by coin-pooling.Showi'm this good at mafia:

farside, the odds of finding scum almost completely depend on how many scum there are.
anyway, so, so far:
at first, i thought rogue meant to be reffering to TSPN in the post where he unvoted, and got him confused with cream.
however, the fact that rogue didn't say that's what happened when everyone started getting suspicious of him leaves me... confused, to say the least.
p.s: everyone needs to get David Tennant avatars, just to annoy gimbo.Showi'm this good at mafia:

i'm sort of inclined to agree with farside with her point on alabaska.
on the other hand, day 1 can get boring when it drags on. i suppose alabaska just wants to get to the more interesting bits.

sorry i've been lurking guys, i haven't been getting enough time to check both of the sites i play mafia on lately.
i'm still not seeing the case against cream. on the other hand, we need a lynch. i'm happy to consider voting him if someone can explain the case
on the other other hand, i like what surye's thinking about an FL wagon. make her squirm, see if she has anything else to say.

i know. just surprised that anyone would want to know my opinion on anything O.oarmlx wrote:I think those questions were directed at all of those listed.
gimbo question: i can see that it's possible, but don't think it's too likely. depends mostly on what exactly its pro-scum ability is.
faerie question: it seems to be a better alternative to the cream wagon, which i'm still not getting.
although pheobus thinking peach might be scum is odd... especially since scum win the game by nightkilling her. pheobus might be a good idea for a lynch, i'll see if anything else comes up.Showi'm this good at mafia:

When I said " at any point" I meant day or night.
1)where are you proposing you get these 10 coins from?
2)isn't a permanent jail-keeper item a little unbalanced, especially considering that you didn't claim to have a night action in the first place?
3)now that you're asking us to wait for you to magically scrounge up the money, can't you just lie to us, and keep yourself alive for days on end while we wait for you to end your imaginary brokeness, and buy an imaginary banana?
in other words, i'm not buying it.Showi'm this good at mafia:

3) we keep the coins and lynch you. if it turns out you were telling the truth, gimbo revives you and we buy you a banana. the town loses nothing.Rogue Shenanigans wrote:

The possible outcomes are this.
1) I am confirmed and we get on with the real scumhunting.
2) I keep the cash and I am not confirmed, you lynch me. The town loses 10 coins.
10 coins= two investigations by the way... I would easily trade that for a scum lynch day one. Wouldn't you.Showi'm this good at mafia:

hang on...
if bringing a scum back to life is outweighed by the bad effect of this 'shroom... then that's an extremely odd shroom... if it's even possible to consider using this on a scum, then wouldn't it be detrimental to the town to use it on pop?
of course, i could be wrong. without knowing what the bad effect is, it's "anything's possible" at the moment.Showi'm this good at mafia:

sorry for being away for a while!
i'm liking the way pop is getting coins. however, i am NOT liking your choice of target.
gremwall seems to be an odd one. he says it's ok for pop to try and nightkill him, even though he knows that if he's town, then the nightkill will fail, wasting a star. If he's scum, he's practically giving himself up, which i don't see a scum doing. but his pro-town line of thinking, well... it isn't very pro-town.
it's a null-tell on his alignment, but if pop hits grem, and he's pro-town, then we've lost a nightkill.
if the aim of the game is to find out grem's alignment, then it would be easier to feather him, no?
or have i got completely the wrong end of of the stick?
p.s. if this star thing works, i fully endorse using it for pop, or another confirmed townie, tomorrow.Showi'm this good at mafia:

i'm not sure how confirming grem confirms TSN. where does it say the feathers are sanity guaranteed?
(it's a reach, i know. but if we're considering the possibility that gimbo is scum, then why not do the same for TSN?)
i understand the star idea now. unfortunately, now the scum know not to try n kill pop anyway >.<Showi'm this good at mafia:
