I have a question of my own, though: does everybody's role include a name and something extra in parentheses?

Yos, if this game's rules bear any resemblance to Tarh's previously modded game's rules, paraphrasing role information shouldn't be a problem:
This stance over paraphrasing is entirely subjective from the mod's perspective, therefore I don't think Tarh would radically change his opinion about it in between games.Tarhalindur Mostly Mountainous Rules wrote: <4> Quoting private communications (role PM, mason conversations, etc.) or pretending to do the same will result in a modkill. Paraphrasing, however, is not only acceptable but encouraged unless I explicitly say otherwise.
About the question, you're right, I see it now.Noone else answer my questionscumchat never die-

Psst. Don't give ideas to the mod.Cavebear with a toothache wrote: I wonder if the FoS:es mean something. I could imagine stuff like FoS:es actually counting for lynches and the vote being something like kingmaker though, or the person with the most FoS:es at the end of the day losing his vote, or the opposite way around, or any number of possibilities. Should be fun finding out.scumchat never die-

I pretty much know from role information that everyone has these parentheses. Thus the FoS on MafiaSSK, too.iamausername wrote:Well, now that we've figured out the pattern, I guess I can get on with voting properly. Oh wait, I already am. Huh.
Korts, you say you've realised now that Yos was right and your rolename questioning can only really benefit scum, but what benefit did you think it could have for town when you originally asked?Korts wrote:About the question, you're right, I see it now.Noone else answer my questionscumchat never die-

Hey, what if we lynched Battle Mage? I wonder.
@Jex, I'm not really sure if that's the rule. If it is, Battousai will confirm it. I also don't like how you're trying to sound uninportant and stay under the radar by adding the last sentence ("Just my two cents").
That's one twisted sentence. I had to read it three times to understand...Nocmen wrote:I think that Korts way of saying that is somewhat suspect, but not enough to warrant a vote from me for that.scumchat never die-

"Pretty much know" means about 80-90% sure. I'm not a hundred percent sure, but I think it's more than safe to assume.Cavebear with a toothache wrote:Regarding Korts: there are some oddities in Korts' posts thus far. First of all, he's got a rule infraction. Then there's the thing with the parentheses; asking if people have them, FoS:ing MafiaSSK for not having them, and having role information that everyone have them?
What's "pretty much know"? Do you know this or do you assume it? How sure are you?Korts wrote:I pretty much know from role information that everyone has these parentheses. Thus the FoS on MafiaSSK, too.
With this setup, I'm not 100% confident in anything. YES I base this idea on something, NO I don't feel like telling you what it is I base it on.Cavebear with a toothache wrote:
Same question here; do you know this? Do you base it on anything?Korts wrote:I am pretty confident if the mod gets the majority votes, someone else will die for him.
Because in BM's case, I just chose a scummer at random out of those not involved in this game.Cavebear with a toothache wrote:

True, yes, for starters. But would you think SSK lynchworthy for this single point? This point is purely mafia theory, specialized. And there are infinite points of view in theory.Battousai wrote:Why is it opportunism if I agree with someone on someone else's scumminess? I may be wrong, and I'm certainly not going to lynch over this single point, but the PM was pretty indicative of this format.Cavebear with a toothache wrote:
Well, I disagree, because I don't think it's a good idea to lynch based on what you can assume about other people's role pm's, but I won't stop you from placing higher value in it.Korts wrote:"Pretty much know" means about 80-90% sure. In-game, definitely. I'm not sure how you imagine meta reasoning for the mod's lynch causing someone else's death.Cavebear with a toothache wrote:
Fair enough. Could you answer this though; do you have an in-game reason, or is it strictly meta? Nonono. Not random. A specific player, if I'm right.Cavebear with a toothache wrote:iamausername wrote:

But he didn't actually suggest a no lynch, he suggested lynching the mod. Which, according to Korts (if I understand him correctly) is more like a random lynch. Which is even worse.iamausername wrote:For the reason I FoSed him in this post - What he said there was basically akin to suggesting that we should vote No Lynch today because quote "town usually doesn't lycnh scum on the first day", which I'm sure we can all agree is a terrible strategy.scumchat never die-

Brilliant! *Doctoresque grin*
Everything is relevant! The role information between the parentheses, the quotes, everything! This is all Tarhalindur's life, or something, and we're all roles from his favorite movies/books/etc. The part between parentheses says (from ...).
You want me to tell?Yosarian2 wrote:

I'm Tarhalindur (from Real Life). I'm not saying any more, but I expect any protective role to be protecting me tonight.scumchat never die-

Ok, you're right. If I went this far... I just didn't want to claim this early. But I guess getting drunk and spilling your role name isn't helpful these days, so here it is. I'm a Townie Cop, though I don't get alignments through investigation, only role name and place of origin. After this, the (possibly non-existent) doc decide whether to protect me or not.scumchat never die-
