It was mainly that Menalque had a point, you didn't contribute much doing day 1.

I think I contributed a decent amount, including eventually landing on a scum wagon, for being a very late replacement.

The reason we shouldn't ignore wagon positioning is that this is a game with significant consequences for scum if scum die early. While bussing isn't possibly it's not something that scum would do lightly and it's something that they likely would look for excuses to avoid-- so the people who gave an excuse to never vote Mohab should look the worst, associative-wise, and the ones who should look the best are the ones who gave an excuse to not vote Mohab, but then still did.

(This is also a reason that I think I should be more townread-- I was voting Snowblaze at Menalque's request and then voluntarily left that wagon and joined Mohab's at Snowblaze's own request when I could have easily stayed on the Snowblaze wagon and refused to listen to her.)

@a50: i can see you’re getting frustrated by people wanting to see more from you, and i think the issue isn’t that you’re not making an effort in general, it’s moreso (for me) that the efforts you’re actively making aren’t ones that are meaningful towards finding scum. you’re on the defensive for obvious reasons but the bulk of your d2 has been focused on self-defense and the two votes you’ve placed haven’t come with a lot of reasoning? Melanque is not scum. That becomes clear at EoD. The wagon in 1.7 has three people voting Melanque. A50 slot Montosh slot and Ydrasse. None of those are conftown. So yeah a yuck wagon.

Ydrasse is particularly telling, and possibly a better vote. He moves from voting Homura to joining a wagon with him. The other option was Mohab, who is the dead scum.

...i don't follow how you're analyzing my votes. my vote on homura/a50 was an rvs vote from the beginning of the game, and the time that we shared a wagon i did not join the wagon when he was on it. a50's vote on snowblaze came after mine, and then i moved it to mohab/mae.

*Sigh* How many times do I have to explain myself? I am not demotivated because I might be miseliminated. I just don't want to effort and be miseliminated. If I'm going down anyway I'd rather not get too invested (mentally and emotionally). Got it? Effort PLUS miselimination is demotivating. Either WITHOUT the other is fine, and from where I stand it still looks like I'm going to be miseliminated (if not today then tomorrow). No, what I meant was town want to give reads (effort) so if they’re miseliminated, we can work from them etc. You’re playing in a what seems to be a scum mindset where the game ends when you’re eliminated.

Okay, so basically, I think my general working theory on dumbtells (more likely to be from town than scum) is correct. Especially people who are just oblivious about the setup are likely to be town, especially in complicated games. Yes, scum sometimes fake this, and I’ve been known to like a dumbtell when I’m scum too tbh, but mostly it is town indicative

So I think what happened here was that I got it into my head that the dumbtell was more town!indicative than I should have given how egregious it was. Which meant that I read the following (the opposition to the wagon I wanted) as indicative that I was right that mohab was town and that she was being counterwagoned against the scum I was pushing. And like as it proceeded, it was sort of like a vicious circle. So the slots pushing for mohab were scummy because they were pushing away from snow to try and get her. And why was snow scum? Because I was town and I was pushing her, and because scum were ocunterwagoning on mohab. Why were the scum counterwagoning mohab — to save snow!scum ofc!

Yes, I’m aware that it’s bad logic of a circular variety but that’s why I think I got so locked in. The more resistance I got to what I was pursuing, the more I thought I was right to pursue it, even despite not townreading mohab

My wagon drew equally from Mae and Snowblaze. Actually a good look for Menalque because no reason for scum Melan to switch onto me there. My prevailing theory was Snow Ydrasse Fredrick.
Something Smart changing from Snowblaze to Mae needs explaination.

Right now, I want to rope A50 followed closely behind is Ydrasse although both are not likely scum together. My bet is one has agency captured the other. Third place is a tie between SS and RCE. Then Raya because my VCA says next to nothing about her.

Okay, so basically, I think my general working theory on dumbtells (more likely to be from town than scum) is correct. Especially people who are just oblivious about the setup are likely to be town, especially in complicated games. Yes, scum sometimes fake this, and I’ve been known to like a dumbtell when I’m scum too tbh, but mostly it is town indicative

So I think what happened here was that I got it into my head that the dumbtell was more town!indicative than I should have given how egregious it was. Which meant that I read the following (the opposition to the wagon I wanted) as indicative that I was right that mohab was town and that she was being counterwagoned against the scum I was pushing. And like as it proceeded, it was sort of like a vicious circle. So the slots pushing for mohab were scummy because they were pushing away from snow to try and get her. And why was snow scum? Because I was town and I was pushing her, and because scum were ocunterwagoning on mohab. Why were the scum counterwagoning mohab — to save snow!scum ofc!

Yes, I’m aware that it’s bad logic of a circular variety but that’s why I think I got so locked in. The more resistance I got to what I was pursuing, the more I thought I was right to pursue it, even despite not townreading mohab

Ok, let me restate my stance for one last time: I -personally- believe the elimination pool should be between you, me and Menalque. Now let's disregard my "TMI" of my slot's alignment for a minute. ANY

of the game would put me and Menalque as the only two options today. BUT, Titus says Menalque is Town and it's you & me (and regardless of your alignment you know that ism't the case, so -at least- we can agree on that). So, me/Menalque from my own PoV (as a spectator with no spoilers) or you (based on Titus VCA, which I ignored the last game and managed to lose her that game)

As for the rest: RCE is TOWN. Raya is 95% Town. Montosh & S_S have a few things going in their favour and other things that could point to them being scum. In other words, neither of them is outside their scumrange, but neither is actually scummy enough.

(and I've taken the liberty of removing my own name because this is MY read list, so I should factor in my own knowledge, but feel free to replace me with you from your PoV)

The thing is we only need ONE MORE SCUM ELIMINATION to win. So, I have 3 options:

1- Eliminate in you/Menalque and actually hit scum = Game Over! I don't need to look for the third scum
2- Eliminate in you/Menalque and they flip green = I'd still want to eliminate the other of you two
3- Eat rope myself = I am no longer in the game and I do not need to find scum anymore

Now assuming both you and Menalque are town I guess I eat rope next in the second scenario, so I won't have the time to find out who's scum because the game would be over.

I cannot reconsider my reads without another flip now. All we're going to do is run in circles, pointing fingers at each other, and end up where we started.

I will admit this though: Your approach towards me and being willing to engage me didn't strike me as something scum would do at this point, but then I looked back and remembered you are already voting me, so it felt a bit odd.
