woah i just had a good idea
we don't really know too much yet about Tar as a potential player, but how about this:

instead of a lynch, we get the scummiest person to vote for Tar. if nothing happens, then we proceed with the lynch. if the person is daykilled, then we can possibly continue the day?
what do you guys think about that?

I believe his claim (I guess), but don't like the insinuation that just because I did what DGB asked me to do means I'd do absolutely anything that anyone asked me to do. As I said at the time, I saw 0% harm in posting the words and 100% wanted to know what was going on.

I agree with Natirasha that we SHOULD lynch SOMEONE just to find out how many it takes. We might be facing a deadline situation though... something like when deadline hits the highest vote amount dies... time will tell but we need more information NOW!

I think the word he was looking for was condemn... but that is irrellevant. I wasn't trying to say the action was scummy Batt, and I will state again, I truly believe that it is just AWKWARD timing.

What the hell is "awkward timing"? Are you doing what I think you are, which is some twisted form of OMGUS without actually putting your money where your mouth is? Give me something other than your "awkward timing" (a scummy accusation if I ever saw one; it gives nothing to defend against) and then we'll talk.

Cyber I really am interested why you think speculation in general is scummy.

It paints a massive target on the object of the speculation's back for the scum, as it shows them that at least one person sees the potential for a power role (or at the very least confirmed status as a townie). It really isn't healthy for anyone except the scum.

You may not say it is scummy, but I do.

I am not accusing you of anything. The timing of your post was awkward, I am not calling it scummy.

In this situation it is awkward because you had disappeared for a few days (life comes up I understand) and the first chance you get to come back and post is the next post after I voted. Therefore the timing of everything was awkward.

I will say one more time this is not an accusation, it is just an observation of what happened.

I am sick and tired of no one reading what I say and jumping on my word choice without looking for other things in posts related to them.

Also, please respond to my answer to the role speculation question.

I can understand where you are coming from, but I have seen situations before where role speculation actually helped the town figure out who the scum was, and so do not find the speculation in itself scummy.

Now if the speculation had been pursued to the point where it became role fishing I would agree completely that there are serious problems with it, but as long as speculation stays speculation I don't feel that it is wrong to do. Though potentially misguided on day 1.

Speculation isn't scummy. Baseless speculation is. It will be a question of finding out if DoS's speculation was legitimately a problem or not. I think not, but I've been wrong many, many times before. Let's just leave it at "DoS suspects Cyber for X reason" and see what happens from here. I think at this point the two of you are getting WIFOM-ey.

We're talking about speculation that happened earlier in the game Wall-E, the discussion is just about whether speculation is scummy, and has nothing to do with what just happened between Cyber and I.

Well, we don't know for sure if that was the actual cause, but that's the working theory.

The reason I think twilight talk (at the time DoS's vote was thought to be the hammer), condemning a hammer is scummy is because no one knows what role the lynchee had. Only scum would know the alignment, as in not their own. Scum could use the condemning as a way to take a step or two away from the lynch to appear more innocent. In this instance, though, I think the hammer was unwarranted due to lack of a defence from Jebus, so the condemnation definately doesn't warrant a vote.

I think that someone has a day kill, and they are using that theory as a cover.
