i don't think the read has much weight for anyone else nor do i have the right words to explain the reasons i feel about it the way i do without it being frustrating for other people to understand so i'm not going to belabor the point on it, but it's meaningful enough to me that i'm not wanting to vote him in this moment.-

child's read on me didn't really feel like it was something someone would have to dig into much, because to me it boils down to "when post actual thoughts, feels towny." i don't get an aura of solving and i'm a bit put off by child calling things interesting and like... eh. that's about how i feel about it. like, i guess i feel like child is a bit townier after it but it's just because they shared some thoughts about things which is like, at least they're thinking about this game and playing it a bit but it didn't move me to the point where i felt like they were actively solving, or engaging much. just some reads put out and then that's it.-

i haven't been fooled by him yet that i can remember actually?
it's basically just "i know this person well and this feels in character to their town" which is like... it's not a very good read because i haven't played against scum!him but. it's worked, and i'm willing to stick by it until it doesn't work. there are just small things i see that don't mean anything to anyone else but i recognize him acting /naturally/ i guess, maybe is a good way to put it.
p-edit: i don't get a lot from it personally, dunno. it's boiling down to effort to me and it feels like a begrudging read, i'm unsure. child doesn't have a reason to give me one of those i guess.-

My concern with Child was that they've held off and been very intentional about holding off on voting and reserving their thoughts until sharp. That's usually a great thing as town, but with only really having the push on me, it made reading them quite difficult. I appreciated the wall and found it pretty solid.
I don't know if I share the concern that they don't have an "aura of solving"-

i've been confronted with the same counter-argument before but i also feel like i haven't... had reason to challenge it, i guess. like there's been nothing in a game that i've found so egregious thus far that i step back and go "yikes, maybe i'm wrong here."
dunno, i'm willing to be the fool one day, or to challenge it when i feel there's something i wouldn't expect from him as town.-

Prism, I would go back to that one post where hectic felt very obviously nervous about you tunneling on him and point out that it seems unlikely that he would put a lot of effort into acting naturally but also let surface-level scummy nervousness show through, but you thought that post was very scummy, so /shrug
I mostly share ydrasse's feeling but with a more skeptical approach-

It would not shock me if Hectic is town. Tammy has previously pointed out that I have an issue with raking people more familiar with my play completely over the coals, and Hectic has once before been a victim even if I'm 3 for 4 (w/ Happy Face mafia added) overall.
If that's the case, though, I feel as though I don't have enough information to see it and am more than happy to vote him until I do.-

Earlier I knew the degree of familiarity might help. The more recent one tilted the hell out of me because of how I view the game.
I wasn't even aware off the top of my head that you had one, and even thinking I still can't remember it. I was definitely not looking for one specifically from you so it probably was not memorable in contrast to the readflip on me. I might review your ISO if I feel like it, but right now I don't.-

It's not really a you or your read problem, it's fine to townread him because when you come down to it you think he's genuine. I view the game very aesthetically, somewhere between a sport and an art, and place a huge weight on fundamental skills. To me, Hectic not knowing how to fake that kind of frustration/annoyance would be akin to meeting an MLB player and watching them not know how to hold the bat.
But maybe he doesn't, or maybe he does and is town anyway.-

Man I feel like if someone knows you well being able to fake that convincingly is more akin to knowing how to hit a nasty curveballIn post 543, Prism wrote:To me, Hectic not knowing how to fake that kind of frustration/annoyance would be akin to meeting an MLB player and watching them not know how to hold the bat.
Could be overestimating this though-

This website does enjoy proving me wrong anytime I assume scum knows how to play the game-

I looked back at this, and I noticed that Child had already independently stated a scum lean on Johnny, so is it actually that strange that they would still be okay with that elimination today, regardless of their read on Prism? In post 500, Ydrasse wrote:like “i think this person is scum/has some bad takes/etc” and sees them voting someone and goes “well i wouldn’t be opposed but we should give them time but if it’s not good enough fine we can kill the slot.”
maybe it’s the fact child is interacting like that with someone they don’t trust and don’t consider the implications of said person voting someone else.
i’m trying to work out in my head if child/johnny could be together based on that because it feels like child doesn’t really want johnny dead but is willing to bite the bullet given his absence/lack of control on the game.
In post 317, Child of Fairies wrote:T3 and Johnny both feel less towny to me due to their "I'm just going to hop in, vote, and leave" gameplans
