At the start of the Day you asked me why I was voting Menno. Did you have any thoughts about the quick hammer at all?In post 253, Nexus wrote:I don't think menno is scum.
And you've answered half my question, what about cpol right now?-

"Nothing" as in, nothing came of it so you're dropping it? Or "nothing" as in, nothing has changed and you still think Chris is 100% scum?-

Saved? Let's dissect/hypothesise.In post 263, Klick wrote:I'm not satisfied by any explanations I can think of that involve Chris-town being saved by scum.
If it was a badguy-vendor provided potato:
1. It throws cpol under the bus
2. Everyone talks about potatoes until the end of time
Maybe it saves a town temporarily, but it ruins discussion, and ultimately may kill that town if cpol is executed as a result.
It may prolong a town life in the short-term, but it may save a baddy in the long-term when a town is executed instead.
Our only way of winning is executing baddies in daylight. Their best tactic is to make us kill each other.
It's a read-disrupting, distraction-making, scum-saving, delayed villager death.-

I think any conversations around this have shown it to be NAI. Either I am scum and set the whole thing up, or I am town and have been set up as a miss-execution. It seems most likely that scum gave me the potato, but someone owning up to that doesn’t help either way. Rather than the potato itself, do you think I'm playing scummy? In post 263, Klick wrote:Nothing has changed, and if Chris' potato isn't explained I want him to die today
I'm not satisfied by any explanations I can think of that involve Chris-town being saved by scum.
With 10 players alive we are in a bit of a tough situation here, as both Menno and I are suitable execution candidates, based off what has happened, but I know I am town, and can see a world where Menno is as well. However, the number of executions we have is now dwindling. Assuming that we are both executed, and night kills go off each nigh that means we are then at 6 players alive. I think Postie asked it earlier, but is having 3 mafia likely in this player number? How many executions do we actually have?
If it helps, again I am a Vanilla Townie, and my role name is ‘Eight People Watching One Game of Hive’.
@CES – I’ll reword my previous question then. Can you give an update on any thoughts and feelings you have on people? General reads of the game?-

Mcmenno doesn't feel right anymore.
I really don't like Klick's posting but again, it feels like a distraction.
So where does that leave me? Im not entirely sure. I could potentially still see a Menno execution, but Im becoming more invested in a Postie (who has conveniently disappeareared plus Fenchurch feels like a town read at this point) or one of the people taking more of a back seat.
As for the cpol argument, nothing could interest me less. That's not alignment indicative, but I have no interest in voting him for the reasons stated.

Sorry, RL came up. I'm currently mostly interested in hearing more from Primate right now, and secondarily Menno and Wenna.
I'mveryconcerned how multiple people are backing off Menno all at once. If Menno flips scum, I think that deserves extra close scrutiny. I think the natural response to scum!Menno's hammer would be for their partners to bus them the next day, assuming people aren't townreading them somehow. So people initially strongly scumreading them and voting them and then backing off with minimal reasoning as soon as there's ideas about Menno potentially being town feels extremely suspect to me.Discourse is fleeting, but junk mail is forever.-

I have never argued against their execution
Hey so do you see any town potato vendor claims yetIn post 211, Fenchurch wrote:But I’m still looking at who the buddy is, and I do find your position hard to understand..
You seem to agree that Menno’s sudden quick hammer makes them very likely scum. You also seem to agree that the quick hammer was likely driven by a desire to catch Cpol without a potato and get an extra kill as a result.
I’m not sure then how you are so convinced that whoever subsequently saved Cpol from potato-death, must be scum. If you can see Menno as scum, how do you not conclude that Cpol is town?
Strongly agree with thisIn post 244, Cogito Ergo Sum wrote:To be clear, I said their lack of explanation was damning. I've seen plenty of quickhammers in my day and I've never seen so little attempt at justification or mea culpa; if Menno is town, how is there no inkling of pro-town thinking behind it that could be expounded upon or if not that, some sense of guilt? Especially in combination with your situation, this feels like a deliberate move; they have nothing good to say, so they say nothing and hope the town overthinks it/gets distracted by other things.Discourse is fleeting, but junk mail is forever.-
