1.)
Be civil.
2.)
No talking about the game outside the game, unless your role PM specifies otherwise.
3.)
No editing or deleting your own posts or another’s posts.
4.)
Lynches require a majority of votes. A lynch at a deadline requires a majority of a majority of votes. You may also vote "no lynch", which will always take a majority of votes minus one (this number will not be reduced at deadline). The special "No Lynch" majority will not apply once the game hits eight [8] or fewer players.
5.)
Day One will have a deadline of three weeks. Night One will have a deadline of four days. From thereon out, every Day will have a deadline of two weeks, and every Night will have a deadline of three days. The only exception to this is if I need to replace a player within three [3] days of a deadline, in which case the deadline will be extended as many days as necessary for the deadline to be three [3] days away once the replacement officially replaces into the game. In the event of a tied vote at deadline sufficient to lynch all tied players, whoever reached that number of votes first and never went under that amount of votes will be lynched.
6.)
Feel free to ask questions in-thread, but precede these questions with a bold “
Mod
”.
7.)
If you’re dead, you’re dead.
Do not post a “Bah” post
. (I know, that’s so not fun…)
8.)
Do not quote your role PMs. Only paraphrase them
in your own words
. To do otherwise to be modkilled, followed by an immedate night. Exception: See Special Rules.
9.)
These rules are subject to change, but most likely I will inform the town of this publicly should this occur.
1.)
This game contains quotes from the novel in a number of role PMs.
You may not quote this text
. Notes: (a) not all roles are guaranteed to have such excerpts, (b) even there exists an excerpt it may be irrelevant to the actual role, and (c) I may have purposefully used different translations of French to English so that not all quotes come from the same translation, or even any published translation at all. 1.)
There are two mafia members, and one traitor in this game. The traitor knows the identity of both mafia members. The mafia (and subsequently the traitor) wins if all the townspeople are dead and at least one mafia member is alive, or nothing can prevent the same. Between the three scum, there will be zero [0] or one [1] of the following roles: 1-Shot Vigilante, 2-Shot Role-Blocker, Doctor.
2.)
There are nine members of the town. The town will have one [1], two [2], or three [3] of the following roles in any combination: Cop (Sane or Insane), 1-Shot Vigilante, 2-Shot Role-Blocker, Doctor. This means that having three town players with the exact same power role is possible.
3.)
The results for a Cop will be either (a) “Town,” or (b) “Mafia.” The traitor will always investigate as “Town,” even to an Insane Cop.
4.)
Deaths will always be revealed as either (a) “Town,” or (b) “Mafia.” The traitor death will always be revealed as “Town.”
5.)
Having a named character from the book does not guarantee a power role. Having a power role does not guarantee a named character from the book.

Two sample role PMs:
Townie Role PM wrote:Townsperson
So the crowd of citizens, male and female, having closed their houses and shops, throng from every direction, at early morn…
You are a
Townie
. You have no special powers, excepting for your penchant for haranguing those you do not care for. Use this power well!
You win when both of the Mafia are dead, and at least one townsperson is alive.
Confirm your role by PM. Good luck, and have fun!
Potential 1-Shot Vigilante Role PM wrote:Louis XI
We Parisians generally make a mistake as to the ground which we think that we have gained, since Paris has not increased much over one-third since the time of Louis XI.
At the time this story begins, you are technically dead. Since you obviously have
some
sort of power over death, you clearly might be able to extend those powers if you try hard enough.
You are a
1-Shot Vigilante
. During one night of the game, you may target one other player in the game, and that player will die unless something prevents that from occurring.
You win when both of the Mafia are dead, and at least one townsperson is alive.
Confirm your role by PM. Good luck, and have fun!
