A derived role or functional is a role that needs to refer to something else to be functional, but otherwise is a working role or modifier. Note that derived roles are not the role or modifier they refer to.
some examples of functionals:
Enabler
- If an Enabler dies, the referred role becomes unusable.Finder
- A Finder may learn if a player is the referred role or not.Immune
- You are immune to the referred role.Captain
- You have command over the referred role. The referred role may disobey your orders and do nothing instead. Captains act during Day if they refer to a role that acts during Night, and vice versa.Switch
- You may determine if the referred role functions or not each Night.Augmentor
- You may target a player to have them also act as the referred role on their targets.Locked
- The modified role is unusable until the referred role dies.Avoiding
- The modified role will fail if targeting the referred role.Note that Backup is a modifier and not a functional, and thus a Backup role is actually that role.
