JV is in the bottom 5 slots here, out of 23 players. That's a scumread.

I ask him specifically cuz I can't remotely see how you can have him at a similar tier as FL

I personally don't have anybody as high as FL. Those two I can sorta get it, but ducky I don't have a read on at all and wanna get more to read them one way or another which is why I asked ducky first.

I don't think solving for tw today is super important, so the read is more vibes

But I thought about why I townread his progression and 1465 specifically other than "vibes~" - I think TL is in a position where people who townlean him are not going to be defending him super hard, and he's also scumread by a few folks iirc. He is not particularly difficult to eliminate today

So 1465 is a fairly in-depth read that I think scum would not bother to make at this juncture. They can sit back and be more lazy. And tw closes out the post with "i just have zero interest in trying to take an accurate guess at TL's alignment anymore," which is pretty funny after clearly putting a lot of thought into the slot and also probably comes from town

Does this look like a player talking to their scumread? It doesn't to me.

It started as just a feeling when you were questioning TL - I felt like TL was being weird town, and it seemed a bit like you were pushing him for his weird but not necessarily scummy stances.

Then you had a moment feel like you're pocketing FL by having the same read as him when you started townreading TL in 368. I call this out specifically because the progression didn't quite make sense to me. Did you start townreading TL between 350 and 368? Anyway, I feel like around that time (pg. 14-15), it was mostly FL interrogating TL to get a better read whereas I'm not sure how your questions there were designed to get a better read on him.

The "having the same read as FL" happened again in 1068. You almost feel like a chameleon where you change your stances when FL does

But a couple of other random posts pinged me:
749 felt strange to me. like up to that point, you pretty clearly townreading FL, so this post seemed performative

I also think posts like 1203 are how scum are likely to position around a TL lim. As in you don't want to be pushing a policy lim, but you aren't going to step in to stop it from happening either

holistically it ends up south of null for me

This post was the kicker for me. Big post explaining to JV why CSF scumread them. A lot of posts quoted, that should add up to a scumread, and maybe a vote. Nonsensical progressions, changing opinions to match FL, scum positioning around a TL lim. These are all serious charges! But then we just a get a 'south of null' conclusion. No vote, no suggestion of JV being a possible vote for CSF. Also, 'south of null' is far less severe than in the bottom 5 reads. So to me, it just looks like CSF wanted JV to see that she was scumreading/leaning them to get some town points and have a 'contrary' opinion.

If I come into a game and scumread a player who's widely townread, I'll go in quite hard and explain to other players why. Probably vote them as well. This treatment of JV just looks so weird to me.

Anyway, here's a vote to show my convictions.

I think you way overestimated how confident I am in JV scum because of the post where i explained my scumread on them

Even if I am suspicious of them, I doubt I am going to push them day 1 unless I am very confident as they are playing in a way that could get them night killed anyway

I don't think people interrogate their scumreads the same way. However I do think I wouldn't have asked the questions in 1495 or 1501 if JV weren't a scumread

For 1509, the first half of that is stuff that I think JV is doing if they are scum. I can see world's where that's not the case & JV truly mindmelded with flavor a lot, partly because there are a lot of people floating by this game & I wouldn't be super surprised if they flipped scum and the more active folks are town.

I caught up on the game to get baseline reads but forming more accurate reads usually involves seeing people post in real time

They can, but in this instance it struck me as scummy. Also I saw a dissonance between where you were placed in CSF's reads and how she treated you.

This is warranted I think. I also want to take my Hu Tao townlean back, I think I was a bit too hasty with thinking their not knowing this game was multiball had to come from town. 1835 is not a good response - it doesn't really help us understand Hu Tao's reasoning and is almost a dodging of the question. (Although I get the impression Hu Tao feels a bit pressed for time and if that's what's going on then that sucks and I'm sorry.)

I got excited when I saw this because it's a strictly-town perspective. Like, sometimes in this game I see a post and think "I believe you are genuinely trying to scumhunt but this doesn't mean you're town". I really want this to be a true thought CSF had because that would mean she's town 100%.
