Here's one more idea I just had.
We could have JV shoot me tonight. And then today we lim whomever he should be shooting if I were the lim choice tonight.
And you guys pick who I shoot.
If I'm still alive tomorrow, you lim me.

This is maybe a good idea because it maximizes expected information.
Because even though I'll die, my attempt with go through, you'll effectively have a result. Either the target you pick for me is dead, or is confirmed vanilla.
Under the opposite scenario, you deny yourself the possibility that information.
Importantly, this clears my case up at the same time.

I mean, if I'm still alive tomorrow, there are many potential interpretations why. But I don't think enough to not just lim me.

What's the difference between me shooting someone else? Me having a focused shot vs a spread shot means scum are unlikely to interfere unless they have a direct way to stop me, in which I'd know and it would give setup info.

Yeah it gives information for you to commit to a shot. But in return you get an potential extra shot (mine). So the question is whether that trade-off provides better odds of setting up town for D3.

Like, let's imagine without confirming that you're deciding between me, Hu Tao, and RN (a claimed bulletproof).
If we lim me, you can aim at of those two and D3 starts with the third still up in the air. Scum might still interfere, but at least they can't Doctor your target or whatever.
If we lim Hu Tao and yall tell me to shoot RN and JV shoots me, then all three of those slots are cleared up by tomorrow. A Scum Doctor has an easier time interfering yeah. But in this worst case scenario, you're just in the same position as if you had limmed me (2 cleared up slots, 1 not cleared up).
While by comparison, the worst case scenario if we lim me is that D3 starts with just one slot cleared up.

Actually, RN lim would be smoother. Potential explanations for my shot failing on RN are too broad to provide much useful info. It could fail because his claim is true, or because he's a goooon. But I'm not trying to push an agenda of killing that whole group. Those are just the names in circulation atm.

if the simplest possible explanation
now
is that i didnt get fruit because i'm scum, what is the simplest possible explanation when i flip and i don't? bc that's what's gonna happen. seems like you're willing to give JV a pass even then.
That proves that you were Alien'd or JV blocked, and gives us a lot of setup info.
Or similar mech, I don't believe it's limited to just that but yeah that's the gist. If all goes well and there's 3 kills it should confirm me as non-maf too but that's not super duper reliable and for future-jv to worry about
what else can it be on a mech level
Well I'm not sure entirely you definitely omitted rolestopper
there's a very limited amount of mech that could have stopped it

Also, this strategy does more to validate JV's role. Even if you feel sure about it now and plan to be sure about it even if I flip town, maybe you'd rather other town not spend a lot of time worrying about it.

Loyal modifier means it can only target people of my alignment.
Fruit Vendor gives a person a piece of fruit which does nothing but show that a FV visited them.

I targeted Psyche with a Loyal Fruit Vendor. He never claimed to get one

MEANING

1. He is not aligned with me, aka a wolf.
2. He is Town with me as Town and something intercepted my ability (roleblocker, rolestopper, alien etc)
3. I am wolf and fake-claiming this
