The goal of this setup seems to be to make sure no town townreads any scum enough that they exit with them.
That's easier said than done. If you think about the average player in a Mafia game, and you think of their strongest townread. MOST of those reads will be right. But usually at least one won't be. We have to aim for one maximum, or ideally none at all.
Another way of viewing it is, collectively, we have to find all but two town (or one town, if we mess up!). This setup is a lot more scumsided than it seems.
Well, luckily most of us have played a bunch of games together. So as long as we don't get stuck in a wifom spiral, i feel like we will be good?

Another way of viewing it is, collectively, we have to find 1 wolf and agree to trust fall anyone but that 1 consensus.

Town!Drew would say something like this. Unless Scum!Drew KNOWS that I know that Town!Drew would say something like this. But then he'd know that I know that he knows
it means merlyn has played a game with drew before so she is familiarized with how he plays. thus, she can make that read.
Familiar players can also play each other though.
It's impossible for us to know anyone's intentions; anything can be read from both angles - mafia and town alike.
What makes you certain that her intentions were towny? I guess you already townread her?

Two hangups -
1. Finding one wolf is Actually Really Difficult
2. Even if we all find one wolf, it would have to be unanimous. If one townie has a townread on the consensus scumread, we have a problem.

She is a dastardly one isn't she?

never said she was already towny! i was just saying there was no way to be for sure that it was pocketing and that they had played together before so it was likely that it was just a meta read!

I don't see the point in pretending like that, I think town can take accidently take a joke seriously just as much as scum can
Yes they can.
My point was, I don't think your stopping content creation at it's tracks was for the better.
