@Black I don't see why it isn't possible that my town play simply reminds you of your own scum play. I often (read 2 years ago) was considered limbait in other games I've played as town (see Student Council Mafia or Mini Normal 2185), so the idea that my town play reminds a player of their scum!self isn't wild to me.

Yes, but my point was that he’s shared his reads, and he’s trying to not have us vote against that—I feel like he’s still trying to move the game in a direction that lines up with his reads, but just by pushing back against the current tide to gain any ground.

He’s shared his thoughts and given arguments for them too, even. I feel like his methodology for solving just might not be the same as yours, and that’s causing it to not resonate with you.

Hm, in our last game, BlackStar was really good at reading, but wasn’t as skilled at defending himself—made him an appealing target for me to try to miselim.

The idea that my play as scum when a buddy is getting run up would be to actively and completely defend them with no exit strategy at all is one of the silliest things you've ever said but you're uh welcome to try if he flips red I guess.

You say "well some people are good at faking town stuff" when I ask you to tell me what you would expect him to be doing differently if he were town.

Like, thats a half formed read and you seem to have no curiosity about the possibility of it being wrong, and it makes me kinda think you might be scum.

"Well some people are good at faking town stuff" is not a good faith response to the question "what would he be doing differently as town, here's an example of him doing plenty of the stuff you're scum reading him for as town what is he doing differently?" its a deflection at best.

If you think x is scum because of y, someone telling you well here he is doing y as town should make you reevaluate your position. Indeed, that should have been part of your initial read formation in the first place. So the fact that you seem to have not considered it is why it feels half formed to me.

I'm not sure what the purpose of that statement would be as town. As town if you genuinely think I'm scum with Ower why would you alert me to that fact? How does that benefit you? All it does is give scum more information about how to play around the situation.

As scum though there's a lot of motivations. It might get me to back off. It might get me to stop pushing so hard on my town read. It subtly poisons my well because it implies I'm less than credible.

Once, in Mini Normal 2179. However, I'm unsure in how useful it would be for determining my alignment in this game because I had the good fortune that game to roll a scumteam with both Flavor Leaf and Alchemist and I essentially got hard carried that game. My memories of that game are mostly me lurking out while FL blew smoke everywhere.
