Setup should be 7/2 going purely off of flavor, but the plurality voting + no self voting rules make 6/3 theoretically playable:

Spoiler: Non 7/2 Math
8/1 isn't mafia, 6/3 goes: (Assuming all scum lims are made at the start since order doesn't matter)
6/3 LE 0
5/3 LE 1
4/3 LE 2 -> Winnable for town without selfvotes due to plurality rules as town can get 3 votes on town while scum can only force 2 votes on scum
6/3 LE 0
6/2 LE -1
5/2 LE 0
4/2 LE 1
3/2 LE 2 -> Winnable for town without selfvotes due to plurality rules as town can get 2 votes on town while scum can only force 1 vote on scum
6/3 LE 0
6/2 LE -1
6/1 LE -2
5/1 LE -1
4/1 LE 0
3/1 LE 1
2/1 LE 2 -> Winnable for town without selfvotes due to plurality rules as town can get 1 vote on town while scum can't force any votes on scum
In a 7/2 game, the setup is still playable with up to two scum controlled nightkills. If the nightkills are town controlled and can hit scum then there's a chance scum just instantly lose the game which is kinda dumb (since if they get shot then they can't get limmed so the wincon of all scum get limmed can't be reached) and if they can't hit scum then what's the point of even shooting when you're just gonna be aiming for someone that's never getting limmed in the first place. If there's more than two nightkills then town mechanically loses since they don't have enough numbers to vote 3 townies out anymore without quickhammering
Spoiler: Math
Scum getting voted out doesn't change voting numbers required so I'll only consider the perfect game case:
7/2 LE 0 Town can lim
6/2 LE 1 Town can lim
5/2 LE 2 Town can lim
4/2 LE 3 Town can lim
3/2 LE 4 Town can lim
2/2 LE 5 Town can't lim unless they quickhammer which is kinda dumb to balance a setup around
Town needs to be LE 2 at 3/2 to win, they're at LE 4 at 3/2 without nightkills. Town nightkill is equivalent to decreasing the LE by 1 so there can only be up to 2 nightkills on town before dumb stuff starts happening
In a 7/2 game without nightkills the game ends at a 7p vote in a perfect game or a 5p vote after limming 1 scum. Since the game is playable with scum nightkills DE speculated that scum might get a single nightkill if they get limmed which doesn't seem that crazy to me outside of maybe getting into problems with Vigilante being a town only role and it being stated that

Dark Jesters do not have a Factional Kill By Default. Instead, they have a collection of abilities that each Dark Jester can use

Fun fact. I thought I was 3rd party until I read the setup after getting my role pm
This is either a townslip or an attempt at one
Yeah, that was my thought too.
Going off past experience, those sorts of townslips tend to be real, but it's definitely fakeable.
I agree. Hu Tao also town slipped somewhat in Mini Normal 2313 which makes me even more inclined to believe it's real
The only experience we have with town!Hu Tao was them lurking out for most of the game then fake claiming Doctor after a nightkill got blocked and getting speedlimmed when we cc'd 1-Shot BP as scum (Mini Normal 2316)

I don't understand how anyone can townread anyone strongly enough to be voting for them within 4 pages at this point in time.
What's the difference between that and voting in the early pages of a normal game? Majority still has to agree on it.
You could even argue it's less risky than in a normal game because the probabilities are inverted.

Scum post. Trying too hard to look town
Ehh,
to me they just look like they don't understand the setup
, regardless of alignment. I do want to know why they thought that though.
I'm curious why you think this but it can wait until Sakura responds
That is probably another case of Alianna-bad-wording, but I don't know what better wording is at the moment.
To me it seems like she understands that both Patrons and Jesters want to be voted out and she's wondering why anyone trusts anyone else this early

That seems like looking town to you? Dissuading town from townreading other town is what scum need to do here - all we have to do is form a correct townbloc of three to win, we don't even need to figure out exactly who the scum are.
I'm assuming scum can't change the enlightenment level via night action, anyway. Even if I'm struggling to think of what exactly their night actions might be.

Sakura lock town
I don't feel like Drew's the cold and calculating type to go "ah yes Page 4, time to subtly break up the incoming towncore by locktowning someone who's questioning the towncore"

Actually it's mainly because of how if you look at his ISO, he doesn't make a single attempt to solve, makes tonally weird fluff posts that try to sound serious, and has not made any remotely towny-sounding post.
Also I don't think it's "subtly trying to undermine a town core", he literally complained about the town core forming (indirectly):

Yeah this is the first game where it's not anti-town for us to live past day 1 (Mostly cause we can sheep DE and coast on mech support), I wanna milk that
