You explained Thomith but not purple - and Thomith is in the same boat as you - shading Lap but not voting him.

To me, all three of us are in the same boat of "I want to vote Lap but he's at E-2 and I don't want to pressure more than that".

All the people in this boat are in my mind equivalent to voting Lap in the context of 503. Why? Because all three of us would have voted Lap if he was at E-3 instead.
