Requests for exceptions to site rules:
i'd like to allow players to push the boundaries on certain social conventions of the game while still attempting to preserve its integrity. when needed, i would like to be lax on:
- "trust telling"
- "playing to win conditions"
- "not posting in the thread after you die"
- "outside of game influence"
- "moderator impersonation"
- "discussion of game outside the thread"
while still generally upholding the spirit of these rules. But i would also like players to sign up with the expectation that it may not be a fair, serious, and meritocratic game

During the "Night 0" period of the game, after roles are assigned, I will ask every player to submit a "Statement of Intent" regarding this game to me through PM. I would like this statement to have a Title. These statements will then be publicly posted in the main thread.
Spoiler: A few examples of what such a statement could be
A vow to play and attempt to win through normal means
A vow to play and attempt to win through abnormal means
An attempt to introduce new mechanics, rules, theme, flavor, procedures, alternate threads, alternate means of communication, alternate games, or discussions (while the nature of the game and setup will be immutable, you will have my full cooperation in my capacity as a moderator in this)
An attempt to use one's assigned neighborhood for various bizarre purposes
A gimmick, character, or self-imposed restriction
An artistic endeavor or exploration
A rumination on philosophy, morality, justice, or conduct
A lie or indeed numerous lies
A truth or indeed numerous truths
A critique, satire, protest, or parody of something, mafia related or not
An expression of selfish, solipsistic, high-handed, and self-absorbed desires or ideas
An evaluation or mutation of various meta aspects, whether it be one's own or not
A study, experiment, test, or data-gathering project
A vow to cooperate with other players on the fulfillment and development of their creative works or intents
An exercise in being subject to the whims of others or of random chance
A combination of the above or any number of other things, whether they form a cohesive manifesto or an incoherent list of ideas
On subsequent nights, I will ask every player to submit a commentary regarding their Intent, and how earnestly and vigorously they upheld it. It may be long, short, wordless, empty, etc. They may also announce any Modifications to their Intent. These then will also be publicized on the following day. At the end of the game, I will give each player my own commentary on how they interacted within and around their Intent. Unless specifically requested to do otherwise, this commentary will be exclusively positive.
Two final notes:
- I would like to be particularly strict on players not playing in a way that is overbearing, frustrating, or unfun.
- Players will not be replaced out for inactivity or non-participation. In circumstances where a game has become unfeasible for a player, I can work with them to finding an alternate who will wholeheartedly assume their Intent
