@rofl
Not a problem, of course. Take as long as you need.
I didn't have a new line of questioning because it was like page 2, and nothing else had happened. I wasn't trying to stop the conversation about Sly - I was trying to warn against that conversation dominating the discussion. Caboose was just really aggressive for page 2, which caused Sly to be aggressive back, and I didn't want it to spiral into an argument that is more for the sake of arguing than it is for the sake of information. There's no reason we can't be civil.Tenchi wrote:QUESTION FOR VAQUERO: If you wanted to change the discussion away from Sly, why didn't you have a new line of questioning?-

Civility is overrated. It's also a nice way of saying that you'd rather not step on any toes, which can actually be pretty scummy if you consider that a townie is much more expendable to the town than a scumperson is to the mafia, therefore a townie has much less reason to worry about stepping on toes.
Arguing for the sake of arguing is a great way to fluster scum and make them slip up. Arguing is really the only tool we have. This isn't the red hat society.

Yes, I am just hellbent on your early destruction.SlySly wrote:
I already assumed that. Your mind seems to have been made up about me on my very first post. I doubt anything anyone says will change your mind, as you seem hellbent on justifying your stretches.Caboose wrote: Nothing you've said has changed my mind about you.
Glad you've got me pegged, Sly.
Of course nothing I say in this thread is personal. I don't really hate anyone here as a person. I just think that Sly is scum, that's all.V wrote:There's no reason we can't be civil.-

The quoted statements of CarnCarn concerns me, especially the way you have responded to his attacks. Antagonizing somebody without full knowledge that they are scum does not allow cohesiveness between townies to form. If you disagree, state your case. Don't attack the person and mock them.
(For me,) Attacks are not limited to just producing logical evidence or statements or inferring facts from recent events, it also includes incitement to anger with statements that are both empty and are divisive. Empty and divisive statements allow scum to spread their lies and make (angered) townies hold a very limited point of view.
If you are pro-town, you have to be careful of that. And having 618 posts in this forum tells me that you have good experience in playing the game, and I think you should know better.Yes. That same Tenchi.

So, are you saying that you agree that I didn't attack CC?
Would you not agree that Caboose has been pulling plenty out of his own "rear end"?"SlySly is the scummiest player on the site." ~DrippingGoofball-

I agree that you attacked CC, that is, using my definition of attacked.SS wrote: So, are you saying that you agree that I didn't attack CC?
I disagree. Caboose made a good point.SS wrote: Would you not agree that Caboose has been pulling plenty out of his own "rear end"?
Well two actually:
1. For one, I find this post stupid:
Does he really have to add the word "this"? I mean, if I take it as it is, his point implies this game. Then you vote for roflcopter. Caboose and Rofl corrects you, but you insist on your definition.Where does he specify this game? I think that is an assumption on your part.
SIDENOTE: Rolfcopter's accusation of CarnCarn is (I feel) also invalid. However, the way SS grasped the situation (voting for Rofl with a reason, based on a wrong and twisted understanding of the post)
2. You come to your senses, then you slap us with a stupid excuse for your Roflcopter vote that you defended three times:
Now you're telling us that your stupid "random vote" that you defended quite passionately "got under Caboose's skin" and this and his (SEE POINT 1 ABOVE) initial point was "taken out of his ass".My vote is a random vote. I just stated it in a way that would help keep the random stage short, might put a little pressure on rofl, and help geting the interrogations underway. Just look how successful I was. It sure seems that my random vote got under your skin more than the person I put the vote on and got your assumption train rolling. That I will take note of.
ALSO:
I don't like how your last two questions were phrased. Whenever I read those questions, I feel like you are putting words into my mouth when you use, "would you agree that..." or "are you saying...". In those questions, you totally misread/misinterpreted/missed the points ideas I hold on an earlier post. I feel misrepresented. Don't overuse it. It's not going to work.
Vote: SlySlyYes. That same Tenchi.

EBWOP again:
SIDENOTE: Rolfcopter's accusation of CarnCarn is (I feel) also invalid. However, the way SS grasped the situation (voting for Rofl with a reason, based on a wrong and twisted understanding of the post)was not good as stated in point 1. Somebody even called it a "chainsaw defense"Yes. That same Tenchi.

Where's this "paraphrasing" that you're talking about? I think that you're confusing paraphrasing with actually thinking about what the post says.SlySly wrote:
Oh? Is that why you paraphrased to prove what you claim is fact where the origin was lacking content to sustain your point?Caboose wrote: No, I base my case off of what's on the page, not a misrepresentation of it.-

You know rolf did not specify this game in that post which is why you had to paraphrase which goes against you going with what is on the paper.SlySly wrote: I am referring to this...

In other words, you can't point out where he specified "this" game.Caboose wrote: So you FoS me because I can read? LoL. It was pretty clear what rofl meant in his post.
He had to paraphrase, because he knows what he is claiming as fact is not actually there in the statement in question.Caboose wrote: Did rofl really need to sit and type out "it seems like he knows the scum mechanics in this game at this point in time right here right now" to make himself clear?"SlySly is the scummiest player on the site." ~DrippingGoofball-

My case still holds however.Tenchi wrote:
