QUESTION FOR VAQUERO: If you wanted to change the discussion away from Sly, why didn't you have a new line of questioning?

I didn't have a new line of questioning because it was like page 2, and nothing else had happened. I wasn't trying to stop the conversation about Sly - I was trying to warn against that conversation dominating the discussion. Caboose was just really aggressive for page 2, which caused Sly to be aggressive back, and I didn't want it to spiral into an argument that is more for the sake of arguing than it is for the sake of information. There's no reason we can't be civil.

Civility is overrated. It's also a nice way of saying that you'd rather not step on any toes, which can actually be pretty scummy if you consider that a townie is much more expendable to the town than a scumperson is to the mafia, therefore a townie has much less reason to worry about stepping on toes.

Arguing for the sake of arguing is a great way to fluster scum and make them slip up. Arguing is really the only tool we have. This isn't the red hat society.

The quoted statements of CarnCarn concerns me, especially the way you have responded to his attacks. Antagonizing somebody without full knowledge that they are scum does not allow cohesiveness between townies to form. If you disagree, state your case. Don't attack the person and mock them.

(For me,) Attacks are not limited to just producing logical evidence or statements or inferring facts from recent events, it also includes incitement to anger with statements that are both empty and are divisive. Empty and divisive statements allow scum to spread their lies and make (angered) townies hold a very limited point of view.

If you are pro-town, you have to be careful of that. And having 618 posts in this forum tells me that you have good experience in playing the game, and I think you should know better.

Does he really have to add the word "this"? I mean, if I take it as it is, his point implies this game. Then you vote for roflcopter. Caboose and Rofl corrects you, but you insist on your definition.
