Von Payne's role can go either way in reality, but my first instinct was that it was a scum role.
There are two good design dynamics for it. The first is as a town PR that puts pressure on scum to break into the block. This is a scattered and incohesive dynamic when you throw in the dream mechanics on top of it. The second one is a scum PR that enables a good deal of strategic deepwolfing and thread control. I need to know more about the setup to make a reliable guess, but my instinctive one is the second.
Noticed Gimli's 1050 when I scrolled back through. Perhaps a bit too over the top for town, but I'm unfamiliar with his meta. Plenty of town players do this. I'm still not very worried about it today.

I'll vote these same things, as I think those have less odds of being universal effects like the d1 one was

I kinda dig the idea of von payne as a scum role but I think they've been pretty town in different moments of the game
My mechanical speculation is limited because I think very differently from fferyllt on game design, and am even further removed from Cabd.
Hider and neighborhoods were two sure-fire inclusions because the mods are addicted to both, but they usually favor more gambity PT bullshit than the public thread enables.
@jupiter: for instance I felt like I was condenmed coming into this gameday, especially with the only players I feel can actually read me gone from the gamethread
having 3 full days of just watching people progressively scumreading me with no antithesis to it was pretty unnerving. this role in scum hands is just as powerful as in town hands, I think.
Prism I went back and I see you are scumreading us because I am "unusually verbose."
First of all, I went back to see what you are even talking about and all I can see is that you are talking about my posts when we only had 100 to get through - I was condensing all of my thoughts into one post due to the restriction.
Second of all, I'm certainly capable of talking a lot as town.
And finally, I really don't think I've talked that much anyway. I've skimmed parts of this game, including the night neighborhood, and haven't been as involved as I'd like. My own posts feel like mostly catch-up to me.

prism was townreading catgirl for disagreeing on mechanics which is a horrible reason to townread catgirl or anyone for that matter
I don't know about Catgirl specifically, but I think it's a fine reason in general and was somewhat agreeing with Prism there.
prism's early tunnel on DE was artificial and very poor, if she is a good and seasoned player none of that happens. also the read on hu tao was so perfect that feels exactly like TMI.
I'm sure I've seen "good and seasoned" players tunnel on DE early though. Sometimes they're even right! The Hu Tao read feeling like TMI I can see though.

Some of the read is by default. I have things I like about basically most other slots except Ydrasse, who probably gets too much benefit of the doubt because I'm used to her struggling to stay engaged like this. I didn't even remember I liked her Day 1 Gimli read until typing this out.
I'd probably put my top 2 at Kirigiri and Von Payne. Both of those need actual work and reasoning that I'm too lazy to do right now.

Virtually none, haven't gone indepth on Aureal. Klick is unimpressive this game, virtually every read I've disagreed with.
It's really weird because I agree with you about disagreeing about Klick's every read. I have no fucking clue why he's town reading me all of a sudden.
There's a world where Prism is town and Klick is scum huh

His scumread of me was bad
But his townread of me is even worse??? He's townreading me for extremely stupid reasons, and it's possible he's just scum and decided to townread me because I'm a vocal voice this game and he knows doing it will get him TR'd by Gimli.
But also kinda scary because I would have no idea in that scenario where to look for scum
So it looks like his gut and his head were disagreeing and he impulsively decided to target Klick so he could feel good about Klick being town again. Maybe he was thinking of targeting me earlier and that's why he said what he said, or maybe he wasn't even thinking about the implication at all, but
I
know he didn't end up doing that. After what he did in Death Note it should be clear that Dragon does not think through and carefully plan what he's doing to avoid egregious mistakes like this.

FWIW I don't think I tunneled Dragon. I start games by making guesses and adjusting. I did that with Dragon and I did it with Sunflower. I don't mind being wrong. Dragon moved up significantly as the day went on. It was a pretty routine Day 1 for me.
