i spent a long time staring at the locked thread wondering if this game was actually a thing that was going to happen, like we didn't even get told to pick anything even though it's a upick so maybe it really was all a joke
after a week or two i logged into the hydra account and saw that the info had been sent in pm and we'd sent a pick in already
It wasn't in the sign up post, but it WAS in the PM asking for picks.
While I guess it is TECHNICALLY possible different people got different things, the PM is worded generically and necessarily would have been sent before setup design had happened, so I don't think it's alignment-based.
I will say though that I wasn't aware of this during the actual picking process, because the PM only went to the hydra account and not the individual accounts, so I never thought to check until now. I imagine many of my fellows have a similar experience.

Also the excuse of bork having a red name doesn't hold water here because bork abandoned the hydra before the game even filled.
It was not because bork is in the hydra, it is because we submitted bork as our uPick choice.

so i'm struggling to see why we'd like to keep you alive when you could just literally be scum and we won't find out until the game ends
I don't think that you keep us alive because of the claim, but it does seem silly to kill us because of the claim. I think you just sort us independently of the claim, and if we die (voted out or otherwise), dont get complacent about how many scum are likely still alive in the game.
Spoiler: @humaneatingmonkey on structure

hey cabal, was it a unanimous decision to claim death miller upon entrance? what's the structure like?

what i mean about the structure question: do your heads vote? is there a top dog? is there a main player? is everyone unanimously voting for you to be more active now? what's the structure like?
I'll have a lot of questions like this because i don't think I've ever played with an ELEVEN HEADED HYDRA
Yes it was unanimous. Bell is the first person who read our roll pm, and mentioned it in the discord that we were a miller. Ffery chimed in to specify that it was a death miller. Spiff was the first person who said that we definitely have to claim that right away, and followed by basically everyone saying yeah, that is the correct way to play a miller (And GiF chiming in that he thought that she was memeing about it being a death miller).
In general, the discord has been pretty chill, and we are just doing our thing, so no discussion on bell in particular being more active. That is just bell posting as much as bell wants.
We did wait for all 11 people to chime in on whether we should drink or smoke via skygazer's ability though (which was also unanimous lol). At 9 votes for drink, I said that it was "pretty unanimous", but ffery said we should wait for everyone to chime in for the sake of team work.
Discord chat.
1. Hey guys we’re a death miller.
2. That’s hilarious.
3. We should obviously claim right away right?
Spiffeh, I, and Lukewarm think we should claim. Nobody objects.
4. We ask a bunch of questions to figure out what death miller means, some of which have already been asked of us again.
5. End.
-Bell
Pedit: yes, I do say so.
It is very important that specifically Luke answers this question:
Do you investigate as User or Admin prior to your death?
I already answered this. We show up as Admin in any circumstance which reveals our alignment.
AniX, please can you confirm whether alignments were determined randomly
Alignments were determined semi-randomly. No flavor or submission individually was more or less likely to be assigned a particular alignment, but like submissions were more likely to be given the same alignment.

With 11 players, it takes 6 to Ban. Deadline: (expired on 2024-05-13 11:11:11).
ETA: There was non-material mistake in the vote count. WePick was listed as having two votes despite only humaneatingmonkey voting for them in the final count. This has been corrected. All other aspects of the vote are correct
Honestly, I think five is close enough to six, DON'T YOU? I know at least one of you agrees.
