I would really like to see that people stop voting each other. I don't see the point that is being made about the amount of mafia days, does it even matter at all?
Would you like to play in a mafia game here that took 30+ days? Given that the average mafia day on MS is around 3 weeks, we need 90 weeks for this game.

Obviously the design is flawed. But it is also first of its kind, so if anyone runs another one (I might at a later date), it would be wise to include a chess clock deadline of sorts to ensure games don't drag.

Now, can we get back to the game? I think all the alternative moves have been shown to be inadequate and still stand by my Be2.
On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

Black moved to a6.
Looking at the board again, I do see a bit for Be2. But it's really lame (probably only what I'm seeing is lame). Bd2 kinda feels the same.

Some moves are obvious and will take us 10 hours to make. Other moves, like this one, are a bit less obvious, hence the longer day.

Once we get later on in the game, we'll have less moves to choose from and thus things will speed up considerably.

Let's play a game. This game is called, "I Rape Your Line, You Rape Mine." I was going to call it "Whose Line is it Anyway?" Thank Ganesh good sense prevailed.

I think it will inspire some discussion. That or I can call all of you names. Nasty, nasty names, until you either acknowledge my points or lynch me.

The rules of the game are this. I will move against Bd2 and Be2. You will move against d5. We will continue this until I am satisfied that you realize you are fucking us, or I get what the hell you all hope to gain by these moves.

Yeah. black wouldn't castle after d5.. I would answer d5 w/ d6.

Well, for the first time ever, I have to say
Mod, please replace me
.

When I signed up for this, I thought I'd be playing mafia. I'm sorry I was mistaken.

Uhm, why wouldn't you have replaced out way earlier if that's your reason?

Oh, whatever. On to the chess game. So why would black d6?

It leaves our pawn on a vulnerable (d5) square and closes off the diagonal that allows our queen to peer deep into black's territory.

Help out a foreigner here: does that mean you think d5 is obviously the best move, or that only noobs would play d5 (and thus it's a bad move)?

Yay, fresh blood. Hopefully this will liven up the discussion somewhat.

To me, he's agreeing with me saying that d5 is a bad move because of d6.

Then really, do we even have a good option? If not we should be looking for the best of the bad options...

Hi all. I've been loosely following along since the 4th move or so, but I'm pretty busy today. I'll make a post sometime this weekend with at least my thoughts on the chess position and hopefully some thoughts on the mafia game, too.

Bd2 is the only move that really accomplishes anything, and it does quite a bit.

All moves are inadequate in our position. The question is, which move is the least inadequate? It may very well be Bd2.

Bd2 and Be2 are both decent moves. I haven't seen a good refutation for d5 and it seems like a stronger position for white, cramping Black's position and Black's development.

I'm torn about the "I rape your line, you rape my line" game. I like it as a way to force people to refute things other than just saying "that move sucks" but it does give Black help making their moves when we do select one of the options.
