Second-votes in the past two pages (seems liek it could start discussion, so...):

Should I dig up questions from my newbie game? Or does anyone want to volunteer some?RestFermata wrote:We should probably have a discussion about game mechanics or something to pull the game out of this lagging random vote stage. I'm not sure what to say, though. I've never played in a game with recruiting masons before. Any thoughts on how this one should be played optimally?-

Can we assume we have a traditional can-kill-can't-recruit mafia? Additionally, cults, if they exist, would be anti-town?
Not sure if those second random votes really mean anything, since none of them even come close to putting anyone in danger.. and if you check to see if someone is voting your intended target before random voting yourself, your vote is no longer entirely random.-

From what I can recall I've only been in one game that has had (what I think) is a similar mechanic. A pro town group recruiting townies... It's been so long since I played it, I can't really recall anything about it though...
We should be a little careful describing possible ideas though. I'm guessing whoever
our mason(s) are they know more about how their roles work then we do. If we discuss the masons too much we could risk giving the anti town members ways to manipulate us/the town.Once Nightfall comes, everyone's dead...-

I thought the goal of a cult was the extinction of any non-cult members (aka anti-town).
Well, are random votesNot sure if those second random votes really mean anything, since none of them even come close to putting anyone in danger.. and if you check to see if someone is voting your intended target before random voting yourself, your vote is no longer entirely random.reallyrandom?
In any case, anything to start a discussion*.

I agree that we should be careful about what we discuss. We should definitely keep the conversation away from abilities and stuff of that nature.
I think I read somewhere in the mafia discussion board that a better name for random votes might be uninformed votes. I suppose votes wouldn't really be random unless you rolled a dice or something.-

Hey, just thought of something. That would be a weird angle, if the "masonry" were really a cult. Based on flavor text it doesn't seem so, but hey, that's bastard moddery for you. But let's look at hoofprints and think horses, not zebras, right? Anyway, I think it is indeed bad to discuss abilities, but still, I'm glad we're pulling ourselves away from random (uninformed?) voting one way or another.
What else to say, though? Nothing's really popping out at me so far. Nothing tangible, anyway. There are a few people who so far appear to be taking more of a neutral, "follower" stance that could be interpreted as scummy, but since this is so early in the game I'm not sure it really means much, so I'll just keep it to myself for now."Time forks endlessly toward innumerable futures. In one of them I am your enemy." —Jorge Luis Borges-
