Why now? Moriarty just said (s)he needs some time to reread, and I have a question pending for Huntress. I actually would like to let the discussion continue as long as there are actual opinions out there people would like to share. There were 5 posts Wednesday and 4 today. Vi is just being dramatic.-

I meant that if scum had come under a lot of suspicion yesterday it would be most to their benefit to avoid a lynch today.CF Riot wrote:

It probably doesn't. But it gives the scum the chance to remove a threat to them before facing a possible lynch.SpyreX wrote:
We'll leave aside the fact you still haven't given this "case" on me, but - how does no lynching today alter any suspicion anyone has?Huntress wrote:Having thought about a No lynch I've come to the conclusion that the ones who have most to gain from it are the scum, especially if one or more of them have been attracting attention. Or maybe it's just seeing that my two top suspects are the first to vote for it that is putting me off for the moment.
Those are real positives to scum.SpyreX wrote:The only negative(s) there are is 1.) the fact there is a 0% chance of hanging scum today and 2.) the possibility the NK is a power role.
I agree. But I wasn't supporting a no lynch and if we had decided against a no lynch then a mass claim might have been worth discussing.Rishi wrote:
If we're talking about No Lynch (which I still think is the best option), a mass claim is a horrible idea. The scum shouldn't know where the power roles are.Huntress wrote:Actually I don't think it's too early to talk about it if we really are in lylo, which we more or less are if we have a group of three scum, but perhaps you know otherwise? Why don't you think it's a good idea? When do you think would be a better time?
Agreed. But see above. And when would you consider it a good idea?Moriarty147 wrote:As for massclaiming today, that is a terrible idea. ESPECIALLY if we are voting no lynch. We really do not need scum targeting all the power roles this early on if it can be avoided.
Where did I make a call to massclaim? I was thinking of it as a possible alternative to no lynch, or for a later day. Nowhere did I suggest combining it with a no lynch.bionicchop2 wrote:This is why I am suspicious of the call to massclaim from Huntress.
Thanks. That makes sense.bionicchop2 wrote:I can see the advantages of massclaim in some games, but I can't see how it would help in a game where all roles are listed on the front page and the number of each role is unknown.

And Iaun hammers again. Interesting parallel with yesterday when Jahudo prompted for a hammer and Iaun supplied it..-

The men who were left squabbled weakly among themselves, but the talkin' began to die off. "Fuhgeddaboutit", Officer SpyreX kept sayin'. And that was what everyone started sayin'. "Fuhgeddaboutit". "We ain't gonna get it done today." An' after 'bout half of 'em started sayin' that, the room got real quiet-like. That was as good as it was gonna get.
So they all shuffled out the door and took the day off.

Seven people showed up for work. Partly fearing the worst and partly gettin' worked up over the nerve 'a some people to ominously kick the bucket these days, Officer "Quiet" Riot went out for a smoke. The guy everyone was waitin' for was already there holdin' the door open for 'im with his prone body. Riot looked down, shook his head in disgust and walked right back to the meeting room, more worked up than when he left.

Hmm.
Ok, convince me Bio:
We've had a jailer flip and a doc flip now.
3 Protective roles is a bit much.
Why, even though your play has been decent, should you not dangle right now?-

Because you don't want to lose? More so, the jailer is an overrated role which generally serves to create more confusion than help the town. Multiple roles do not equate to a multiplication of the benefit of that role. 1 cop is generally good for town. 3 cops often hinders a town.SpyreX wrote: Why, even though your play has been decent, should you not dangle right now?The above written statement is pro-town.-

The jailer is definitely not as powerful as a cop or a doc, but it IS a protective role.
My beef is with 3 already known protective roles in a mini.
However, as you can tell, now is not the time for haste.
It IS time for a massclaim though.-

Why not? On the one hand you can target someone you think is scummy and stop them from potentially killing, on the other you can protect someone that looks so pro-town they won't survive many nights. Having a jailer and a doc could help explain why we're only had 1 kill each night IF we still consider the theory of a second killing party.bionicchop2 wrote:More so, the jailer is an overrated role which generally serves to create more confusion than help the town.
If we do massclaim I say Huntress goes first.-

With two known plus one claimed protective/blocking roles I think a second killing role is quite likely. If there is only one one then looking at the possible roles it would make more sense if Bio was a roleblocker rather than a jailer, and a townie roleblocker would not have counterclaimed as he did so that points at him being mafia.
If we massclaim I'd like Rishi or Spyrex to go first..-

Jailers are arguably a lot more powerful than docs. Jailers are more confirmable and have at least double the chance of stopping a kill, sometimes more. They are more swingy, so maybe not asSpyreX wrote:The jailer is definitely not as powerful as a cop or a doc, but it IS a protective role.protownas a doc, but more powerful.
Massclaim is obv. Rishi is a good number 1. I'd also like to see Moriarty and Jahudo claim sooner than later.-

I would be honestly surprised at this point if we had two killing parties. Of course, I'm having a real hard time stomaching 3 protective roles as it sits.
I have absolutely no qualms "going first" if, and only if, Huntress and Rishi follow me in rapid succession.
In fact, because I do not want the day to be lost to a slap-and-tickle about who is going first I'll do so right now.
I'm....
...
Vanilla!
So, yes, Huntress is obviously here, so I personally would like her to go next.-

Do'h, I'm sorry again.
I'm vanilla.
That makes it 9 vanilla townies (Rhinox, Pops, TOD, Spyrex, Moriarty, Rishi, Huntress, CF Riot, Jahudo) and 3 power roles (RC and BC jailers, IAUN doctor)
And no Roleblockers or Watchers. Given all these vanillas I fully believe BC's claim just on that.
@Huntress: Why have you grown more suspicious of Rishi over the past few days?-

@Jah: How much do you think an extra JK affects the balance of a game if a doc and 1 JK are already present? Do you think the game could be balanced with 1 doc and 1 JK? Do you think it could be balanced with 1 doc and 2 JKs?
BC can you explain why you jailed OGML night 1? I don't know how this wasn't brought up in the first place, but I looked back and can't find you mentioning it anywhere.
Rishi who's scum? Why?
