I'm leaning towards Mastin. The vote-or-die-mother****** on his self is suspect.
And yes, his habit of quoting ever single line is hard as hell to read.[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

I'm not sure about you all, but when i random vote, I usually look for something trite to random vote day 1 and then see how reactions take towards the random vote. Using 'dice' or Random.org just isn't the way I like to randomly select unless I'm modding. (However, if you've worked with experienced players before you usually want to balance the game on how good people are, but lately doing that becomes a little biased and I've refrained from doing that ever again)
So if Mastin is really truthful about his randomness its quite stupid on his part because: if he is town, then he has just given scum reasons to vote for him that even a townie frowns upon.
Or if Mastin is an ace at deception, what he has done is incredibly smart as scum.
Other than that, I'm just wondering when a huge mistake is going to be made by that of scum.[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

@Ubaten, when i first started posting here it was confusing at first because I am familiar with BB code...so I can't say I blame you. We can all hope it won't be a major trend lol.[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

It may hold no relevance to what Mastin's allegiance is now, but I've used this tactic before and it failed miserably because it was too suspect in trying to say 'I'm trying to provoke scum to voting me' when in reality town players figure this is just a scum trick on the town. FYI, I was scum in that game giving the self-vote a shot to try and 'find scum'. Discuss.Scien wrote:Yes, Mastin did something that was scummyish if he is a noob scum, but he is claiming that that was his plan in order to flush people out. What do you think specifically about this attempted defense of his actions?
Where?Scien wrote:Also what do you think of Ubaten's defense about what he meant with whole 'voted accordingly'?
Okay. Thanks?Mastin wrote:...Those mainly happened later on page two. Are you saying you read that far yet haven't said anything? As in, lurking?
It warrants a FoS.
Maybe because I'm not a trigger happy guy? Although it warrants an FOS for self-voting, it doesn't mean you should die asap. Day 1 should never end this early on a risk you took. So its worth some discussion; or would you really like me to vote you?Mastin wrote: If you are thinking it is me, then why on earth aren't you voting me? Especially after this same question was asked towards Ub? Didn't you claim to have read that?
You're quite right, sir. How else do you scum hunt unless you're a scum trying to provoke something because the day has started slowly? I am a very patient in waiting for a scum slip. They'll come.Mastin wrote: This seems like an excuse to not contribute much until Santos sees what can be interpreted as a huge scumslip. Other thoughts on the matter?
Did I answer them to your satisfaction, Mastin?Mastin wrote: Oh, wow, Scien and I think creepily similarly. All of the points directed at you, I'd love to get an answer from.
So you're saying I should vote you because you admit you're scum and are not making a stupid townie risk in self-voting?Mastin wrote:Santos's lurking/opinion on me without a vote seems suspicious[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

TBH, I thought it would warrant a few votes, but then I was going to try and hold some sort of 'townie' defense and point out who I found most scummy of the voters. But again, this failed miserably because there were two scum factions as well as trigger happy townies.Scien wrote:Just out of curiosity, in the game that you played this tactic as scum, did you think that there was going to be a massive wave of townie attack coming towards you for it? Or did you think it was going to be minor, and something that you could argue away quickly?
I believe its minor or else he would be dead already.Scien wrote:Also, do you think the towns response in this current game would qualify for being a massive attack towards Mastin so far, or more like a minor argument.
RE: Ubaten, IMO, either he is a newbie townie and doesn't realize voting inactive people is a waste of time, or he is trying to shift all the votes elsewhere. However, in the quotes you provided, Scien, it sounds like he is contradicting himself. Scums usually get caught up in doing this and get nailed for it, no?
Why not?Scien wrote:Waiting is a curious tactic that I don't see as townie at all.
[quote="Mastin]
Link required. [/quote]
This may appear as a cop out, but it was in another forum I play at. That is why I intro'd 'may hold no relevance' because it was meta. I was giving my thoughts more really because I had tried self-voting before, but notrandomlyas you claim you did. The problem I have with a townie self-voting himself is because you're basically asking everyone to vote you. Most people random vote to get a rise out of the players they have random voted on. So then it appears idiotic. You've just random voted yourself and are trying to get a rise out of yourself? Silly right?
^that is what I'm getting at. Either you're an ace at scum, or a wizard playing a townie.
You seriously believe all lurkers are all scum?Mastin wrote: I believe there's a wiki article called 'lynch all lurkers', and you just admitted to lurking.
Fine, I will.Mastin wrote: You are suspicious of me. Why on earth would you not vote for who you are suspicious of?Vote: MastinYou're getting what you asked for, however, you're asking the wrong person to vote for you.
Oh noes. I'm shaking in my space boots.Mastin wrote: Why wait? Why wait for a scum slip, when they are right in front of your eyes, in posts? Guess what? I find your attitude toward the matter as rather anti-town. (AKA, possibly a scum slip)
And it was a blatant twisting of your words. Why do you think I did that?[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

You're clearly never going to understand how I play mafia. Why should I explain it anymore? Is that going to help you figure me out or what?Sirdanilot wrote:santos: I'm quite happy with my vote on you. You say you are waiting for a scum slip, but how can you expect one to happen while you're *waiting* for them? Isn't the best way to get a scum slip to engage in as much conversation as possible?
Also, having too much conversation tends to convolute conversation, hence why I am not asking for everyone to give us walls of text to search through as you appear to want. The simplest of posts can, just as well, prove to be scummy. Otherwise, I don't know how else to explain this to you.[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

sirdanilot, after having played over 30 mafia games it tends to get old to read newbie walls of text. I am playing in these newbie games so I don't get shunned out of the themed games because ('I have no experience and must have at least 5 newbie games played before joining outside games'). [/outside discussion]
You think I have not read the walls of text in this game? I would have to be a complete idiot not to. I have read them, but it doesn't change the fact that I'm all for just looking around and seeing where the scum are hiding. IMO, scum's number one mistake is to try and lead the town. Next is to lurk. Third would be a scum who is able to play with the rest of the town but never give away too much that they are not on town's side. Sometimes this can be spotted with WIFOM. Other times it can be spotted with simple questions like 'Hey guys, who should we pressure?'
So if you think I'm ignoring this game because of long posts and unfortunate coding mistakes, you're wrong.
At this point in the game it actually would be useful to go back through the pages now and try and find who is the scummiest poster and then lynch them. This is what I like to do.[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

I'm observing some trends so far. I have also decided who I think is most pro town as well. I will have a summary soon because there are some very obvious town, scum arguments going on as well as buddying (which, IMO, is the most dangerous thing to do if scum were going to try it IE Mastin/Scien).
Does anyone agree?[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

I was not panicking, but rather frustrated at how ignorant people can be. My question was simple and that was to speculate about the scenarios since we have done so much else today. I thought it would be interesting to see what people thought of the setup.
HUGE FoS: MiteyMousebecause I was not role fishing as you were implying, but rather seeking insight regarding the game. You twisted my words and are quite simply scum in my eyes now.
[quote="Scien"]Why did you ask about role setup if you already have some knowledge of it?[/q]
Uh, why do you think this would be a good idea as opposed to a bad idea?I was not seeking role claims by asking what I did.
Right now, I perfectly well see a MiteyMouse/Sirdanilot team, but of course that is not just for me to decide.[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

If you're seriously thinking about lynching me, then you might as well ask your moderator to replace me so you guys don't eff yourselves.
I find it interesting now that MiteyMouse and Sirdanilot have disappeared.
Okay, maybe it *looks* like I am role fishing, but considering what I have seen today and how people have been playing, I've been trying to deduce the possibilities of who to investigate tonight. (god willing now, I am going to die)
Two things:
1) I claimed cop before a bandwagon was set in place for something stupid that I would never do as scum *rolefishing*
2) If I was scum claiming cop, I would have to be the gutsiest scum ever.[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

I forgot to add:
It may have appeared I was rolefishing, but my intentions were simple for the townies:
If you are townie, then you shouldn't have a problem role claiming it. Eventually, we would hopefully have everyone claiming townie, and then look back on the day and its discussion and try to find out who is more pro townie than the other, then lynch the least contributing claimed townie.
That was my logic.[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

THe biggest issue I feel I was doing by replacing out was so you guys don't lynch a cop. Tell me I'm wrong?
Now all I can be is a townie. So if you'll have me back, I'm game to play. I just didn't want you guys to make the mistake.
Anyways, if anyone still wants me to be around, I can very much say we have narrowed the scenarios down to two possibilites...so...[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

Oh, and I definitely believe the mafia will have to take a shot at me because setup 1 I would have to be role blocked, but then I would be protected (hopefully). I don't think they would try this is they now know its setup 1 and they are one mafia role blocker and 1 mafia goon.
So the scum have to take a chance on the third setup and try and kill me tonight because I have a good idea of who I want to attempt to investigate. Should I enlighten you with who I suspect after re-reading the day?[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

sorry, disregard the above post.
We have to think like the mafia now that we have narrowed the game to two setups. The mafia are the ones who know what the final setup is now. They know its 1 or 3 while we can only assume its 1 or 3. Right? So what can we make of that? They will either have to expect a doctor will protect if it IS setup 1, or they can kill me in setup 3 and essentially tell the rest of you townies that its setup 3.
Basically, I feel me claiming now, and with me dying at night, can actually help you guys win the game. What do you think?[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

EBWOP 3, oh and if the scum try anything out of the ordinary (like not role blocking or killing me) it would seriously be them making a huge risk of me not investigating one of them tonight lol.[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

The Very Town Folk:
Mastin: The self-vote was suspicious, but most likely an aim to get some votes from scum. I now accept this was his objective, even though it was extremely risky.
Scien: Although we suspected a team between Mastin and himself it would be too chancy of a scum team to buddy up like that on day 1. Plus, they are both doing a stellar job of scum hunting; the entire thread will say so.
We Might Trust Them:
sirdanilot: was very skeptical of me. Is still very much so. I would believe a scum would back off voting for me during the day after I made the blunder in role claiming. If sirdanilot was truly scum he would just drop the focus on me and go elsewhere because he could just take care of me during the night, right? Overall, I feel he is scum hunting, but his play towards others in the thread is left to be desired. He has focused on me the entire day and has not really speculated a whole lot on other people.
PhilyEC: he seems to have vanished. He is one of the few that seems to still be around, but not saying anything. We need him to return to settle the ambiguity of his situation.
The Ambiguous Folks:
Papa Zito: he has done a lot of catching up and and providing suspicions about people. His speculation is valued, but we have no reason to trust him because he replaced in. However, the person he replaced never even played, right? I don't think we can accuse him of much and I think the rest of you need to help decide where you think his allegiance lies from his posting style. Also, he said this was his first game...so fresh meat
Mitey Mouse: pretty much the same idea as above.
The Folks We Need To Decide On:
Ubaten (now Henrz)andLleu (now RECKONER): Ubaten told us this earlier:
So he voted Lleu with a very particular reason then? Mastin suspects Ubaten so far. I suspected Lleu for lurking. Now do we tie these two players together as the scum team because of what Ubaten had stated earlier to get a rise out of his partner (aka distancing) or should we poke further and see why Henrz thinks Ubaten voted Lleu earlier? Also, RECKONER just joined us so all I want from him is: why does he think Lleu was lurking the whole time and not participating (remember, Lleu was going to be out of town, can anyone confirm this was true as in was he posting in other threads during our game?)Ubaten wrote:The reason I voted for Lleu is as I said that I believe random votes leads to discussion - in this case Lleu might very well respond to my vote asking me why etc, etc...The point was that it was not a random roll, and I'm sorry but I don't quite understand your last question, could you clarify?
I know this is a crap summary, but maybe it will spark something in someone else's mind about earlier suspicions before all the people replaced in.[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

Well, if scum wants to get anything done if there is a doctor, they will role block me and kill someone else. So we're pretty much screwed no matter what now. So we'll just have to see what happens in the night and look back at Day 1 and hopefully catch scum.[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

I got no result. I sent in to investigate Sirdanilot and received nothing about his allegiance. Since they found the doctor, we now know that the roleblocker stopped me. How they got so lucky amazes me.
Since there are no roles left to discuss, i believe we should lynch the scummiest looking person from day one. But i have no idea where to start.[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

Papa Zito has a point. I could be bluffing. However, if I were scum, wouldn't I want to kill someone who was against me yesterday, say, Sirdanilot?
Also, do you think I am trying to clear Sirdanilot by saying I am a cop and tried to confirm a scum partner? Or that I am a scum claiming a cop and chose to 'fake' investigate Sirdanilot who is a townie?
I think you need to ask yourselves those questions too.[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

Scum have the advantage right now. They're not going to be stupid enough to counter claim me. Even if they do, I will advocate a lynch on myself to guarantee a lynch on them, so you guys know, I was telling the truth. So if they counter claim me, I will vote myself, so you guys can see.
However, know that if they counter claim me (and you all lynch me) it would be suicide for them in the end because there would only be one mafia left versus 4 townies the next day. Except if you townies miss, you will lose.
So today, we definitely cannot miss a mafia member or it will be a slippery slope.[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

Ithink sirdanilot is scum. 99.9 percent sure. Its gut feeling.
Reason: why does he need to state the obvious and add nothing new to the conversation?
Vote: sirdanilot
He's been against me this whole mafia and has not tried to find another person guilty in the game. He probably figures if he keeps pressuring me he will get support due to a deadline and lack of other options. He's got scum written all over him.
Can anyone find anyone else he's been suspicious of during this game?[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

So either he is very apprehensive about his votes after he makes them, or he is waiting for a bandwagon to build on those votes. So far, he has voted against the town doctor, cop and now you. I don't trust this at all. I'm not saying you're town completely, but his track record for suspicion is more in favor for a scum's lucky pick of power roles as opposed to appearing a pro town scum hunter. Am I wrong?[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

I'm not sure what there is left to debate. You all willhaveto take my word for it that I am the cop, the doc is dead, and a mafia goon and roleblocker are left. There are no other options even though a few of you want to believe I'm scum (or are trying to pin me as scum, but that would be pretty bold of you to do so).
Guys, take my word for it and believe me that I am the cop. I am utterly useless in my role now, but that does not mean I'm going to quit scum hunting. I have a quite useful ability still.[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

I will answer them. No doubt. But I have more in mind to hear from the others as well instead of just talking with you.Scien wrote:Did you want to answer any of the questions I had early over some of your points? I'm about to vote you since you are apparently refusing to talk on this issue.[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]

Oh, @ Henrz, even though my investigative requests at night will most likely be roleblocked now, I can still scum hunt and apply a vote on who I find most scummy.
RE: Sirdanilot voted me for, IMO, half ass reasons and when Mitey Mouse replaced in he made a ridiculous (and now looking back, incredibly scummy post) statement like 'pile more votes on Santos, he's scum!' But why I was unhappy with Sirdanilot because it seemed too much of a coincidence that he was applying votes on two pro town power roles (1 confirmed of course, and myself not confirmed).
Post 313 about Mitey Mouse really sticks out now. I really would like to hear Mitey Mouse's explanation of Papa's accusation...
FoS: Mitey Mousebecause its not looking good for your case now.
@ Scien, anything else?[url=http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thecrazies/]zombie - The Crazies[/url]
