To be honest I am just following the discussion a bit. My knowledge of chess is too limited to really constructively participate, but so far nothing convinces me to vote qb2 instead.

I'd like to finish it. Maybe we could institute quicker deadlines if people refuse to discuss things. Frankly, I think these moves are very close, and I also think that Black is liable to make some mistakes against either move, which is why I don't want to elaborate on their follow up move.

I think everyone should have a vote for one of the two moves or be questioning something. That would lead to a majority.

I was hoping black would play this.

move: Kxd2

This gets the king off the back row allowing us to connect the rooks and hides him behind a chain of pawns where he's going to be as safe as he can be for quite some time. Not to mention the fact that the king can protect the c2 pawn if we decide to move the queen back to the middle now that the lack of the knight has somewhat simplified the situation.

Maybe the other one is better, then we keep the option to rook. But I don't know if rooking gives us a big advantage.

I can't decide which move I like better. The king move looks significantly superior now* but I'm nervous about the long-term safety of our king in the middle of the board.

-d2 is much safer than e1 and possibly even safer than either of the castle squares
-The knight is in a much better spot at f3 than it would be on d2

Why are we not examining the merit of Nxd2?

Kxd2 might be better, but we should at least consider alternatives.

To me, there are no merits to Nxd2 when Kxd2 is available which provides the benefits stated above. Nxd2 takes away a powerful piece from the middle of the board, not to mention that after that, the only square that knight can go to after the capture is right back to f3 which is an unneccesary loss of tempo.
