The mechanics of this game force everyone to play slightly differently by first naming the most pro town seeming players before they name the scummiest. Just like how it can be scummy to post without ever voting anyone in other games of mafia, in this game its scummy to keep posting without boosting anyone. Not doing so slows down discussion, just like not voting/not committing does in other forms of mafia. Slow discussion is bad for us.

I've been in a few games where the tactic has been to lynch off all of the lurkers, granted, this was on a much smaller forum and there weren't nearly as many people ready to replace. Voting Kise solely because he's posting every once in a while to let everyone know he's still here seems counterproductive. Besides, from what I've seen of his posts they actually do have

substance. I could be wrong, I'll check that later. But anyway, if you're going to vote him for that, why not vote for the people that are

Tajo, I don't like how forced ConsM's posts look. He doesn't seem to honestly believe anyone he pushes to be scum. He forced us out of the RVS while constantly saying that it was just to get out of the RVS. He said that it wasn't even a protown action, probably to cover his intentions of trying to look townie. And he said he was trying to look scummy which I think is playing the "oh look, I'm town" card a little too heavily. His criteria for lurkers gives him too much of an excuse not to scumhunt in other ways and is too calculated for us to draw opinions from after he flips if he is scum. And his vote is jumping around every time he has a new "lurker". It's like he's voting for pressure, but as soon as someone responds and he has a new lurker, the vote moves. I don't like the way he seems to have the game planned rather than trying to do things based on in thread actions. Town has no reason for a calculated way to vote or find lurkers. Scum does.

MissTake, the concern Empking seems to have about Kise is that his play looks more like strategical active lurking as opposed to simply not having the time to post.

Zwet, that is a crap vote. The OMGUS was a jokevote and I think she removed it as soon as she saw serious discussion.

Zito, I'd say only claim near a lynch, not a boost. If the boosted players are power roles, they are more powerful. I assume vanillas don't get anything from a boost which someone will argue is a waste, but it protects power roles. If scum go for boosted players, they are guessing at power roles vs vanillas. And it would draw attention to the vanilla instead of a power role. So no reason to claim near a boost.

To be quite honest, I dont understand why people are already at B-2 in page 7. KMD and Zito are both good players so for obvious reasons we should wait more/evaluate them more for boosting them.

I somehow agree with the Zito love, not so much with the KMD one. But still, Why are you people boosting them? I would like at least some reasons when your boost vote is pretty close to boost them.

Boosting scum is kinda disastrous, especially if they have a night-boosting role like last time. I've been weighing pros/cons in my head on whether to force boostees to claim so that those claims can be verified the following day vs. all the stuff KMD pointed out and I couldn't come to a good conclusion on my own. Rereading Boost 1 didn't help much either.

I figured it wouldn't hurt the town to air the discussion. If anything people's views on it may be helpful later.

kay, i just wanted to know that Mastin belongs to a group of players that is inherently scummy to the average mafia player regardless of alignment. The ongoing game is a good example of this.

So, let me ask you some, do you think that his actions fit more with a "I want to look townie" scum agenda or more with a hyperactive townie agenda?

@Tajo- KMD is refering to the fact that just before your post you put me at B-2 and then asked why 2 people are already at boost-2. I thought you gave a reason and thus were still operating consistently within your own logic, but KMD obviously did not think so.

@Papazito- Claiming when boosted is a bad idea. The only benefit this would have is to get scum to stick to an early claim. Even as a boosted vanilla it may cause you to draw fire meant for other power roles. The cons would be outing power roles. Not day 1. Day 3 or 4 I could see us wanting to claim for boosts. Depends on the situation though.
