The only effective way to stop setup speculation is to show that it hurts the town. I dont see it hurting the town much if at all in this situation, and the only alternative was to push my speculation as better, which means im going to start losing interest in the game.

Ok, so basically you are going for the "You all suck. I'm bored. Die" in a monotone approach? This does NOT help the town...

If its for not really caring about speculation or not really pushing hard about what I thought the best idea was, yeah I did that fairly intentionally. Getting into a big arguement about something that I dont really care about did not seem to be a good idea.

@FL - Yeah thats kind of my early game attitude. I try to scumhunt a bit, get met with a "stop annoying us we are speculating" attitude. Kind of left me with a choice of "argue about something I dont really care about" and "keep trying to suggest we scumhunt".

So far then, your suspicion list is myself, Zazie, DDD, and LF? Since this is a 12 player game and following the 1:3 ratio, only 3 of the four can be scum. Which 3 would you see as scum together? Is there one that you think is scummy, but cannot be a partner to X?

I need to go back to work, but it would be a good idea to analyze forbiddan's reactions to the ideas of claiming to see if it makes sense from a town-bellhop point of view. I'll do it later if nobody wants to step up and handle it in the meantime.

I got nothing either way, it looks like she was trying to decide if it was a good idea or not as most of us were. Her claim was startlingly aggressive, but again that doesn't give me a read either way.

I really don't like her 176 though.

The thing is...why say something when you could just be leading by example. There might not be much to look at but you can always try to scumhunt and at least create an early D1 case rather than just keep looking bored.

I don't think Zaz's lurking is indicative of alignment, and I don't know what to make of his vote. Yes, I know that type of neutral stance is near-useless for alignment filtering right now. I'm not to surprised at my own (and others') lack of reads. As a few people have already pointed out, mechanics-based discussion is difficult to scumhunt with this early in the game. I expect the motives behind setup manipulation to play a larger role later on in the game; until then, I'm shelving the past few pages.

No color-claiming. While the town's colors are still a mystery, floor locking acts as full protection for everyone on that floor. If we all color claim now, scum will have a laundry list of targets that won't waste a kill.

Nuwen, thinking about it, your reasoning for finding my behaviour slightly town is similar to what I thought about Batt's first few posts. Do you think his initial vote was an easy location for a scum vote?

That. Just. Happened. But yes, I'm right with you. Zazie, then Battousia, then probably some random players that are ignoring Zazie and Bat (TDC off the top of my head? Maybe Llama) is where I'm at in terms of early scum pickage.

So... you kind of avoided posting your thoughts on if this was a town or scum tell here. This almost looks like you lean scum tell which is really interesting. So if you had to choose which one is it? Also elaborate on 176.

If my meta (which is a little outdated) on FL is correct, she is pretty obv-town at this point. IIRC she is a little more cautious as scum and more reckless as town.
