Ok, if you want to check on Coron first, let's see:
unvote: The_Machine86
vote: Coron

Ironically, while Dranko's claim rightly stopped the bandwagon on him, it started to make me really suspicious of him.

The only way my vote is going to change now is if someone's bandwagon+claim gets sufficiently far along that we're deciding we're going to lynch them.

Otherwise it can stay on esme.

I really couldn't care to run after Coron, have him make another claim. This is not a hop on/hop off tour. I'll go to London for that.

Wow no idea who is scum...

I'm suspicious of a lot of people, but the reasons for being suspicious of them aren't very coherent or logical. Damn

For now:

Unvote Dranko

Though I'm not 100% sure he's telling the truth, Phoebus is right, we'll catch him in a lie sooner or later if he's not telling us the truth. I just hope he doesn't find a way to do a lot of damage...

I must be completely missing something. Someone please tell me why there's a bandwagon on esme? I'm so confused.

Esme wanted us to limit our bandwagons to non-voters. There's no reason why non-voters would preferentially be mafia, so this was crap logic probably designed to keep us from bandwagoning mafia.

esme basically said that all of the non-voters were suspicious because we weren't jumping on bandwagons, and I thought that was BS.

It's Bamboomancer: like necromancer, but with bamboo instead of necro.

Wow. I love how you are so sure that esme is mafia based on: If A might be true, then B might be true. And if B might be true, THEN ESME
IS
MAFIA DEVELOPING THIS PLOY TO KEEP US FROM BANDWAGONING HER SCUM BUDDIES!

Unvote, Vote: Coolbot

If anything, scum are cautious with thier vote. And unless you have something that suggests otherwise, I'm very curious where you've definitively derived that esme must be mafia.

Bamboomancer: That I can agree with, yet not vote worthy at this point. If we go round in circles or we stall, I'd be glad to go there.

Welcome back STD!
I find the bandwagon on esme very lame.
If there is any chance of lynching CoolBot today, it would be much much better.

Not exactly. Here is the quote you might be referring to.
esme wrote:I suggest that the not-voting people start to vote and if not, we go for them.
Esme never said that if someone is voting we shouldn't bandwagon him/her, just that we should go for those not voting. (And I think this just means putting pressure until they do vote.)
I do not agree with esme on this, but I wouldn't call it "crap logic". It looks like you only use this phrase in order to appeal to STD's allergy. He didn't buy it, and neither do I.

Manic-Monday Vote Count
, powered by The Count-Counter 2000:

esme - 5 (milkman, Phoebus, PookyTheMagicalBear, Bamboomancer, CoolBot)

CoolBot - 3 (rolandofthewhite, Stam, Save The Dragons)
Coron - 2 (PeaceBringer, esme)
Phoebus
{was Enigma91}
- 2 (Derk2009, NanookTheWolf)
PookyTheMagicalBear - 2 (Locus Cosecant, Mastermind of Sin)
Dranko20 - 1 (draygn_mage)
Save The Dragons - 1 (Dranko20)

Not voting (5): Coron, The_Machine86, brushhopper, mneme, Nonchalance

11 to lynch; I am working on finding a replacement for Derk2009, who seems to have abandoned the site more than a week ago.

Ok, just to give this more context:

Post 151: Phoebus asks people to vote on the Dranko bandwagon.
Dranko can't seem to be arsed to do anything about it.

Maybe some more voting pressure will help. 6/11 may not be enough.
Post 153: I don't see why I should change from the person I find most suspicious while 5 people are not voting which would certainly constitute enough voting pressure.
I suggest that the not-voting people start to vote and if not, we go for them.
Post 155:
Instead of following my lead and looking for his missing pressure votes among the non-voters (who might just as well to follow *my* vote instead of Phoebus'), Phoebus calls this dismantling the bandwagon.
esme - there's already a fair bandwagon on someone who is being non commital at this time. Why would you want to dismantle it and go after someone else?
I'm not sure what to think about Phoebus (or Dranko) after all this.
Interestingly enough, I was voting for CoolBot at the time which I will return to, since no one else is interested in voting for non-voters
unvote: Coron, vote: CoolBot

As to CoolBot's question: I do think it is in the interest of the mafia not to draw attention to themselves. I also think that the activity level of the mafia will be divided. I am not sure about the probabilities to have mafia here or there, but I am sure that an inactive mafia is *much more difficult to catch later*.

Esme makes some good points (and ones I've made myself, in other games) -- I understand the bandwagon against her, given her timing (at a good point to be seen as a Dranko linkage), but don't know that I entirely agree.

On the other hand, while yes, hanging back on votes is a frequent scum tactic, I have to query the legitimacy of an approach that seems to be "you're not voting -- make an ill-advised decision or we'll lynch you." And the math error (yes, 5 votes added to 6 would make "sufficient" pressure, but not to claim) doesn't endear me to esme much either.

End result -- I don't like the esme bandwagon much, but I like the Coolbot bandwagon a -lot- less, and we don't seem to have any actual lurkers to pounce on. So
vote: esme
(not what I'd intended when I started this post, but hey).
Did I say too much?

d_rouge replaces Derk2009, effective now.
I'm glad for the rapid replacements, but I apologize to the group for having so many people disappear on us. Hopefully this will be the last.

As today is the full moon, and a Monday, and there has been little talk so far,
I will set a
retractable deadline for Monday, May 30th, at 11:59pm.
(no deadline, as the forum seems to be having some issues with posts)
I will be utilizing Dragon Slayer/Polotet's plurality voting for deadline lynches:
Whoever has the most votes at deadline will be lynched,
provided they have 50% or more of the votes that have been cast
.
I'll use the current vote count as an example:

------------------------------------------------------------------
Right-This-Minute Vote Count
, powered by The Count-Counter 2000:

esme - 6 (milkman, Phoebus, PookyTheMagicalBear, Bamboomancer, CoolBot, mneme)

CoolBot - 4 (rolandofthewhite, Stam, Save The Dragons, esme)
Phoebus - 2 (d_rouge
{was Derk2009}
, NanookTheWolf)
PookyTheMagicalBear - 2 (Locus Cosecant, Mastermind of Sin)
Coron - 1 (PeaceBringer)
Dranko20 - 1 (draygn_mage)
Save The Dragons - 1 (Dranko20)

Not voting (4): Coron, The_Machine86, brushhopper, Nonchalance
------------------------------------------------------------------

With 6 of the 17 total votes cast, esme would *not* be lynched right now. If the total votes go down to 12 or less, or the leader has 9 of those 17 (or any combination thereof), a lynch will occur.

Any questions about how many are needed for a lynch, let me know (although ideally, you all will not need it because discussion and voting will pick back up)
. The same rule will apply if you carry the Day all the way down to the 29 1/2-day wire.

::edit::
Again,
no deadline for now
, as it seems to be as much the forum's fault that there is no discussion, as anything else. The fact that it took me 4+ tries to edit this post is a good example.

Ok, I have read the thread and, while I can see the point in voting esme (and I may consider doing so if we approach the deadline), the person that has triggered my scum-radar the most is peacebringer.

What bothers me is people voting without even giving the slightest reason, and that's what peacebringer did when voting dranko, then when voting esme and then when voting coron.

So, that's why I'm going to
vote: Peacebringer

Wow, just wow. I have never seen a day 1 as convoluted as this.
unVote dranko, Vote Nonchalance
. He has no votes yet and I don't want to drop the vote count to a point where I end up accidentally lynching someone. I read every post from day 1 so far and all I can say is HUH?
