Unvote: Phoebus
and
Vote: Esme
.. This puts him at 7 of 11 needed I think.

I would vote Peacebringer for fun, but esme has more votes right now, and the day seems to be dragging enough already.

Before-I-Go Vote Count
, powered by The Count-Counter 2000:

esme - 7 (milkman, Phoebus, PookyTheMagicalBear, Bamboomancer, CoolBot, mneme, NanookTheWolf)

CoolBot - 4 (rolandofthewhite, Stam, Save The Dragons, esme)
PookyTheMagicalBear - 2 (Locus Cosecant, Mastermind of Sin)
Coron - 1 (PeaceBringer)
Save The Dragons - 1 (Dranko20)
PeaceBringer - 1 (d_rouge)
Nonchalance - 1 (draygn_mage)

Not voting (4): Coron, The_Machine86, brushhopper, Nonchalance

11 to lynch. No deadline currently, in light of the forum's difficulties.
------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm going out of town tomorrow through Sunday; however I expect I'll be able to check in and provide vote counts or close the day should it become necessary. Please keep up the conversation level, although I know things are slow right now at the site.

I wonder if NanookTheWolf put the same amount of thought into the vote as she put in the last sentence.

We shouldn't accuse him of not paying attention yet. :)
Actually, I think that Milkman was trying to explain Peacebringer's behaviour to me.
Yes, that was really stupid of me.
Maybe I am the one who should pay more attention.
I got 2 goodie points from Phoebus!

Was it intentional or just ironic that you misrepresented Nanook's gender?

Clearly intentional, given the quoted fragment.

Not that I have any complaint, given how often I'm mis-gendered.

Claim or defense.

Or, really, establish a voting pattern, since that's very useful for making inferences later on.

d_rouge wrote:Ok, I have read the thread and, while I can see the point in voting esme (and I may consider doing so if we approach the deadline), the person that has triggered my scum-radar the most is peacebringer.

What bothers me is people voting without even giving the slightest reason, and that's what peacebringer did when voting dranko, then when voting esme and then when voting coron.

So, that's why I'm going to
vote: Peacebringer
Hi d-rouge nice to meet you--
as to your vote-this is how I play, nice to meet you.

I stated a reason for voting coron FYI- he is usually far more active- I mean far more active.

Yes, the gender misrepresentation was intentional to make sure my point was clear.
brushhopper wrote:What are we trying to do right now? Vote esme into a claim?
Now, this is interesting. Remember that the reason people started voting on me is that I pointed at the non-voters. brushhopper is *still* non-voting but using "we".
mneme wrote: Claim or defense.

I would love to defend myself against whatever comes my way but I commented at length on the non-voting thing and other people have given either no reason to vote me or voted me because I have the most votes. I can hardly defend myself against this.

It's nice to see someone else say that establishing a voting pattern is a good thing.

Show
SIG TIME.

Okay, it's not BABOOM. It's not BAMBOOM.
It's Bamboomancer: like necromancer, but with bamboo instead of necro.

So to recap:
I am not a Baboom. I am some sort of bamboo magic man.

I should start doing that in response. Though people have less of an excuse with you, since your nick is obviously female (whereas my nick is not only similar to that of a popular female Scummer, but is also the name of a Greek goddess, so confusion is understandable).

Yes. Despite not being able to 100% trust voting patterns in a large game (or really, any game, but there's more of a margin for larger games), voting pattern analysis wins games, so getting a good record out of everyone is very useful I've lost games due to voting patterns (getting fingered as a scum, not mason, in the Asterix game), and won them nearly entirely due to same (Newbie 99, frex, where day 2/3 were pretty much decided by analying the day 1 voting patterns and forcing votes on day 2).

I don't really like players who say "so, where's the herd leader I should be following?" This game is all about using your own judgement, not relying on someone else's.

I wasn't asking who I should vote. If I wanted to know who the "herd leader" was as you say I could have just checked the vote count. I just wanted to know what the town wanted to do with esme. Vote him until he claims, ask him to claim etc. Not just to find out his role or anything, but to maybe stop a townie lynch.

I want her to claim. I can't see anything changing my mind on the count. We should probably concentrate on brushhpper next, though.

I agree. We really don't have a better target for today so far and esme has attracted the most attention.

Brush: the "herd leader" isn't the person leading the vote count -- they're the person (or persons) who are, practically speaking, telling everyone how to vote.

Ok, reason 1 not to lynch me: One day is not enough for people to realize I'm female.
I concede that after reading this post that your question is not unreasonable. But I still think you shouldn't use we, even the people voting for me vote me for various reasons.

I am certainly learning a lesson from this bandwagon and will be less foward about my opinion about non-voters in the future, but I still think it is a very bad reason to vote for me.

Actually, when I first saw the name, I thought it was "es me" which is "it is me" or "is me" in spanish (although I don't think that's proper grammar).

Esme, it looks like your a casualty of the bandwagon. Occasionally, people decide to put thier votes on someone for any reason they can find. It's why BJ has his sig. It doesn't look like a defence is going to help (when does it ever?), so I would say you may need to claim, or at least hint at your role.

But I'm still happy with my vote on Coolbot, if anyone feels like switching.
