yup already suspicious of them, esp seeing its been over 24hours since the game started and they haven't posted...Doctor wrote:Dimaba and Cdubs have not posted scum buddies perhap? No no unlikely but possible, I assume many new players as scum could find lurking an opportune way to stay out of the mix, but its not really a sound strategy with experienced players also placed in these games.
@Dimaba and Cdubs
If either of you are active could we have reasons for why you are not interacting with the rest of the group?
Until answered I'm sure supicions on both of you will begin to rise not only from me but from the others as well , and none of us want that if you happen to be townies.

I'm not super concerned about those guys at this point, but they do need to hurry up and post. I mean, Newbie 877 could have gone much more smoothly if more people had posted, and we were scrutinizing Townies way more than we should have been due to some inactivity. I'll give 'em another day before I start suspecting them, though. Benefit of the doubt and all that.
Anyway, since the RVS is starting to end I'llunvote. In the grand scheme of things, wins and losses are pointless. But I'm not the grand scheme, so die scum!

I'm not either but I would like them to post, otherwise they shall just be a bit of an annoyance if they turn out to be townies, something of a "hey, we arn't gonna let you just lurk you know" type of thing. The Tracker wrote:I'm not super concerned about those guys at this point, but they do need to hurry up and post.Would you like a Jelly Baby?-

Well, I personally like the lynch all lurkers policy. Problem is, in a newbie game there are Townies that lurk because they 'don't know what to say'. Not an excuse, IMO, since it mixes up the game pretty good.In the grand scheme of things, wins and losses are pointless. But I'm not the grand scheme, so die scum!

Prods'll probably be sent soon. There's not enough info right now to scumhunt, unfortunately. Guess we need to wait til later when we have more people on.
Votes may not pressure enough and they can ignore pushing. Best to get rid of them.In the grand scheme of things, wins and losses are pointless. But I'm not the grand scheme, so die scum!

I'm ashamed of Yos2.

1. Fakeclaiming in his name. ( )
2. seems to be attempting to bring support for the LaL[urkers] policy, which is terribly anti-town, since the town gets very little information from a lurker dying (easy mislynch, no connections to other players makes it low info, etc). He obviously knows about prods and replacements, so his support for LaL[urkers] is scummy.
3. He says there is not enough information to scumhunt, yet he does nothing to provide information to aid in scumhunting. Very " well, we can't do our job without information, but I'm not gonna put myself out there *baits somebody else to do so* " type of thing.don't you feel silly now?-

Personally, I think lurkers are best dealt with by bandwagon-voting them up to, but not exceeding L-2. L-1 is too risky that someone will quickhammer. Normally, quickhammering isn't too bad for the town. It is a major scumtell and gives loads of information about the perpetrator. However, the lurker, as stated by Rayfrost, hasn't interacted with anyone, so it wouldn't give nearly enough information. Lynching lurkers is a terrible idea. He could very well be in the hospital, for all we know, or some other serious deal in real life that he couldn't possibly have predicted. Thus, lynching might not be such a great idea. Having lurkers replaced, especially now, when they haven't said anything or made any sort of reputation for themselves, is better than doing it later. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. @ the lurker discussion:
It's very important that the town never let anyone lurk, ever. Towns that let people lurk, lose, either to lurkerscum or because a lurker-town gets to endgame, has no idea what's going on, and usually makes a bad decision.
Now, if someone just flakes out and vanishes, a few votes for pressure is fine, but yeah, it's generally better to let them be replaced unless you're suspicious of them for some other reason. But if someone actually lurks, while posting often enough so as to not get replaced, then town has to deal with it.I want us to win just for Yos' inevitable rant alone. -CrashTextDummie-

Hello hello everyone, sorry for missing the first 24 hrs of this.
No problem. I have a test coming up tomorrow that I had to study pretty hard for. I've been doing that + sleeping for the past 24 hours. The test'll be done tomorrow and I won't be lurking after that.Doctor wrote:@Dimaba and Cdubs

Because I support RayFrost's reasoning.
And I'll add a tiny thought of my own which I admit is farfetched.RayFrost wrote: 2. seems to be attempting to bring support for the LaL[urkers] policy, which is terribly anti-town, since the town gets very little information from a lurker dying (easy mislynch, no connections to other players makes it low info, etc). Considering this...
... Tracker's joke about Doctor roleclaiming in his name could theoretically be an attempt to draw a reaction.Yosarian2 wrote: Even just joking about a doctor, or anything like that, can give hints, either hints from the person making the joke, or hints based on how other people react to a joke.-

Eh, yes and no. People feel the most pressured when they think they might actually get lynched.RayFrost wrote:
I think the distinction between pressuring and lynching needs to be made clear, though.Yosarian2 wrote:
