I agree, and I'm with my sister on the principle. It's one thing if someone does something wrong in a game I'm running out of pure ignorance and stupidity. That's non-malicious, unconscious, and it's treatable through education &c. If someone does something I find an affront to the other players, the Mod, and the game itself, and considers it fine, well, that is what I consider malicious. And really, how would I know that he wouldn't consider something I find equally offensive to the game just fine and do something similarly wrong again? Blacklisting would be one, and perhaps the only effective, means of ensuring that such a player would not ruin another game I'm running for everyone involved.SpyreX wrote:

@SC:While I argued that your behavior in the game in no way deserves a blacklisting and I still believe that. Your behavior in this thread on the other hand is pretty bland boring assholery, take it to GD.Routine day with a dirt cheap brush

If you are working with a fluid that might be dangerous, but you don't know for sure, are you going to take precautions?shaft.ed wrote:

This isn't a life or death situation, it's a forum game. I tend to be very lenient of giving people a chance. A person can't change if no one will let them.mykonian wrote:

I have a blacklist with noone on it. If a player hasn't broken site rules and has not had a previous problem in a game I moded, they are welcome in my game. If I have a bad experience with a player in my game I will notify them, and replace if necessary. (I have never had to replace a player for bad behavior). If I ever did force replace a player from one of my games for behavior they would be blacklisted, but could be removed from said blacklist if I felt they were genuinely motivated to fix their past problems. I would come to such conclusions through personal communications with said player.-

Not at all, and I'm not against mods blacklisting people. I'm not even bothered by them blacklisting SC for what he did in this game, like Pom did. And, FTR, I don't see anything ethically wrong with what you did.B&B wrote:I'm guessing you wouldn't be in favor of restaurants the have the right to refuse serving people.
Theonlyproblem I have with it is that you are using your games as a vehicle to enforce your personal views on the forums. You are saying (to everyone, not just SC) that people who make jokes or comments you presonally find inappropriate are to be punished by not being allowed to play in your games. If you do it in this sense, my guess is you'll do it elsewhere and, frankly, that's likely to make a game less enjoyable for me. That's all. Nothing personal. Hug hug.
And the power struggle goes on. LOL. Do whatever you want. I was just trying to save us both from having to remember, since you have a convenient list.B&B wrote:Sorry, you have absolutely no reason to be blacklisted by me.

uhm, no. The job of a mod is to make a fun game, the way of making sure that happens is being neutral and making sure the rules are followed.Ythill wrote:

I have no official blacklist. But if I know several of the players in my game have problems with another player, I am going to keep him out. If I know several of my players would really enjoy playing with someone, in case of a replacement, I'm going to try to get that player in.shaft wrote:I have a blacklist with noone on it. If I got a game where only one or two didn't like to play with SC, but the rest had no problem with it, he could in.
This has nothing to do with giving people second chances or not.
EDIT: because SC by this thread made sure quite a few players don't want to play with him (at least for as long they remember this, or this stay's relevant), SC has smaller chances of getting in a game that I would be modding.Surrender, imagine and of course wear something nice.-

I wubs Pomegranate. That is all.
I think this topic has served it's purpose and worn it's welcome. Everyone's just about said and discussed Mafia Theory and blacklisting and other stuff to the point where it's more or less degenerated into people wanting to be blacklisted by people who are blacklisting people. Do you guys close topics? Because this one seems done to me.-

LOL, my anti-clique statement has started a clique.
But wait a minute TBM, you're a soldier and I'm a hippe...
...wait for it...
BLACKLISTED!
Oh and I'm blacklisting Goat for blacklisting me without me asking first, but he can still be my myspace friend (just not one of my top 8).
If by "close" you mean make innane jokes in them until someone takes it too far and the thread gets locked, then yes.Quin wrote:Do you guys close topics?Record:Town 10W/15LScum 4W/1LOther 2W/2LNewbie 1L

I'm actually mostly serious with it though, I find the idea of the mod flittering player to maximize the fun of the game to be both a terrible idea and terrible modding to the extent that I'd prefer to avoid those games completely.
Edit: @YthilIblacklistedyou the first time I got wind of your flithy unamerican lifestyle.
Edit Edit: Also not a soldier though I was associated with the Canadian Airforce for several years back in myyoungerteenage days. Man statments like that make me feel older then I am.Routine day with a dirt cheap brush

In lieu of the bad racist jokes: why are most anti-psychotica drugs white?
Because they work.

Anyway, I don't see why this topic should be closed. I think it is an interesting discussion about blacklisting and the reasons behind it. I think personal bias in blacklisting is something that should not occur, blacklisting should be limited to players displaying malicious game behavior (to be defined by a set of rules) in one ofyour owngames. Wickedejstr acted to his own insights and I find you people questioning his modding very disrespectful if I did something like this in one of your own games then by all means blacklist me, but I don't think this kind of blacklisting should be allowed.Your own blood will clean the blood for now
