Ironic that you want to be anti-social in behavior, but you want to be able to apply social restrictions to protect yourself from retribution for said anti-social behavior. "Personal choices" and "not allowed" do not mix.
Learn to deal with the results of your actions pal. If you end up losing the ability to play the game from being on too many personal blacklists, then you'll just have to suck it up, create an alt, realize you aren't a
good
psychiatrist as you didn't see it coming, and then play in a manner acceptable in a social setting.
I have a degree in bullshit. I have patents on entire lines of bullshit. So don't sit here and feed me a line of bullshit and think that I'm not going to recognize it as one.

No. You don't get to destroy one of each mod's games before they are
allowed
to blacklist you. This is a social game, with social constructs and social rules to allow it to be played fairly in an online setting.

But...but...social rules should protect the anti-social player tooo!

BLACKLISTED!
I don't know why you're talking about hippies and soldiers and republicans. It's a social game and he's anti-social. It's not like he's being blacklisted for an irrelevant belief.

I thought it was awesome, brilliant play - but many players (including the mod and people from my own alignment) frowned upon this.

What are your opinions on this tactic?
:(
Edit: actually, upon reading this thread, I think further elaboration is required. To have to resort to such a tactic draws from me not rage, but extreme disappointment.
I mean, how pathetic is it that you feel that resorting to this is ok?

This. We're only B-listing you because what you did in that game is very bad, regardless of either alignment, and we don't want that kind of shit happening in our games. No hard feelings, but I'm not taking that chance.

On the blacklisting thing:

I'm under the impression that mods are allowed to exclude a player for any reason at all, up to and including just not liking that person. So if a mod carries a blacklit of players he's not going to let into his game, that's his prerogative.

Destroying? If someone states that kind of behavior is not allowed I obviously won't do it.

Then do not allow it and there won't be any problems?

Forum Rules and Guidelines wrote:You should not make any post, or start any thread, with the intention of abusing, ridiculing, insulting, offending, or upsetting any other user on this site. Within a game, criticism of another player's play is acceptable - making it personal is not, and may result in action by the moderator of that game. Outside a game, determination of the intention of the poster will be made by mith, or someone appointed by mith.

Those rules already exist and have existed since MS was created.
You ACCEPTED them by registering for an account.
I'm actually amazed nobody has reported this to mith yet.

Indeed. SC has been warned, and it seems like half the site has blacklisted him anyway.

For the game in question, the moderator handled things appropriately with regard to site rules in SC's case, replacing him out (whether TQO should have been modkilled in another question, and perhaps a discussion on the use of the modkill is warranted). Breaking site rules has consequences, but these consequences can range from a warning to replacement out of a game to OMGpermaban, and I don't think his actions in that game warrant the latter. Had he not admitted that he was trying to get TQO modkilled, I don't think this would have even been an issue.

Additionally, I'm giving him some time off from the non-game forums, for continuing with the misogynist schtick post-warning.

I think we mostly agree that flaming a user in an attempt to get them to react badly enough to break the rules is in violation of site rules, so the original topic has run its course. Locking.
