Well I'm glad I read the thread overnight to get endagmed.

Kai, I can't believe you thought lynching yourself with six alive and a 2-person mafia could ever be considered a good idea.

I really don't have anything else to say about this game, except that UK can verify that I had Ray pegged as scum by Page 6:
(4:00:17 PM) GlorkTheInvader: on the bright side
(4:00:20 PM) GlorkTheInvader: my read of Ray was spot on
(4:00:45 PM) UncertainKitten: Yep
(4:01:51 PM) GlorkTheInvader: and my endgame read of S_B was accurate
(4:01:56 PM) UncertainKitten: Yep

Mod Room: here

Yes, I WAS rooting for Bitchiness in the end. No, I didn't give them any information that would aid their decision. At least I hope I didn't. I almost did but stopped myself because that would have been horrible modding. I apologize for even contemplating it, honestly.

Green Room: here

Not much to say.

I'll leave all the rest of the QT linking to the relevant players.

@Glork: There were seven. We had confirmation from Tar through UK that he was still a player in the game. The reason that the scum faction won was because Tar would die when targetted, not only when killed, so since Snow rolecopped him there were 2 deaths instead of 1. My decision was valid (though not that intelligent) considering I was not aware of this piece of information.

Mod Notes
:

Nothing really to say here. D1, I wasn't sure who'd win.

D2, I was certain town would win. The Child Abuse mafia died too fast.

D3, I was still sure town would win. Hell, even N3 I spent half of it seeing Bitchiness as the underdog. But, they came through and got lucky.

Honestly, I was afraid that town had collusive lockdown with the red text. SC was confirmed, Leech was confirmed, Glork probably would have become confirmed. I'm not sure if the role PMs were quote proof or not. I'd like to think they were but I think I just got lucky that things didn't shake down completely unbalanced.

Either way, I had fun with a couple of the roles, and it felt good to actually get vote counts out regularly. Probably my best MODDING experience...I hope you all enjoyed the game, though it was really short :S

You still gave up and let yourself die on like three different assumptions that should NEVER be made in a role madness game. Nevermind the fact that you were also factually wrong about who was scum. Seriously, you should have fought to get one of your suspects lynched, especially if you were THAT confident they were scum. If the town decides to lynch you anyway, then it's the same result as if you let yourself be lynched.

Also, I've said this probably thirty or forty times on MafiaScum, but apparently people need to hear it again and again before they understand it:
PROOF OF ABILITY IS NOT PROOF OF ALIGNMENT

Again, I'd expect people to remember this in any kind of role madness game, but I guess some people never learn.

Yes, I'm aware that it was my play that lost town the game, but I still had loads of fun. Nominating UK for a Most Enjoyable Game scummie. Some of you guys should come nth it.

Having a bunch of night-interactions is fun. Having your faction's victory or loss depend on interactions between roles you never knew existed is less fun. In this game I had decent dayplay, RB'd a scum night 1, and would have protected a town PR night 2. But I was vanilla'd, then killed. After that I could only watch as wierd role interactions led to messed up claim situations and rendered traditional dayplay mostly moot.
I think I have reached the point where seeing all the wacky roles isn't as fun anymore if it controls the outcome of the game. I just don't want to play games where half the player list has 4 abilities anymore.

That's understandable, Cobalt. Honestly, I figured I was going to be unsatisifed with the result no matter HOW the night actions broke down N3. I wanted the underdog to win, but I didn't want an el cheapo night win because Tar was a little easier to kill. Well, I did want it, but I would have preferred a day victory. Regardless, I still think the game was balanced.

You
might
enjoy my next game that I've already signed up to mod. Insane Asylum II is actually a game that will actively DISCOURAGE trusting night actions, and will probably not be as role heavy, staying faithful to how IA I worked.

Speaking of which,
I HAVE A NEW PRE-/IN METHOD
:

If you pre-/in for my games, you have the option of including a list of players you
do not
want to play with. If a players name appears 5 or more times, that player will not be allowed in the game. Hopefully this change won't adversely affect anything. I merely would like to give players an enjoyable game experience.

Where did that even factor in? I caught both of the remaining scum based on CORRECT assumptions. I just didn't manage to tie them together. Besides, I always get hyper-confident when I think I've broken the game. This is just the first time it's actually come back to bite me in the ass.

This post begs to differ. You stated at least twice that Ray was "confirmed town" and that I was "confirmed scum." You did not "catch" both scums. You suspected Ray briefly before deciding that his "I'm not confirmed" bit made him protown, and you flatly stated THREE TIMES that I (protown) was "confirmed" scum by your other erroneous conclusions.

I determined that Ray was the scum RB based on my assumptions about Navy's thought processes (I was right on both counts. He apparently tried to vig me, so Ray saved me). I also determined that Snow was scum based on UK not liking cops, and not being likely to put a role in as a fakeclaim when it was nonstandard when she could actually use it to see how it interacted. Yes, the second assumption was flawed, but I still came to the right conclusion. Also, after I went to Ray = scum RB I never came back to him being conf-town. Merely likely town.

I admit that I screwed up, and that it cost town the game, but I'm not going to apologize for using the info I had available (wrong or not) to the best of my ability in an attempt to guarantee a win.

I'm actually mildly surprised that S_B's PR didn't gain more discussion. Then again, it wasn't an obvious one. I was expecting it to see more play, but LOL QUICKLYNCH two days in a row.

I might be /in for that. It's not power roles I hate- I'd be up for a vanillaless game any day- but when make the day game look like a joke the density is too high.
I don't want to sound bitter because I was on the losing side. Our scumteam won TTGL in a very similar way. Jahudo messed up and claimed cult leader as town, and self-voted. Quickvote x3, gg. And the games probably are balanced, they're just so swingy based on the night stuff. I haven't looked at it closely but a scum team could probably have won even if town did something like lynch a low-power townie D1, then two members of a scumteam D2 and D3.

Poor decision. You can see that.

Nyeh, I understand what you mean. See, you came to my games in a more power heavy time. Poof was power heavy but far more day based (though imbal'd by one role). IA I was basically "Don't let the night game rule you", and probably simultanious my most balanced and most bastardly game.

TTGL was a mess, I freely admit that. It COULD be balanced, but dear God did I screw that up. This game I think probably did well at swingy but balanced, but night interactions made things strange.

It would probably depend on how the night kills fell. Also, NC's Global Roleblock would have slowed the game down, which was the point. Generally good to fire that off N2. Course, he died, but I still don't think the game was unbalanced even at the end. Scum just flat got lucky. If they hadn't targetted Tar, town would almost certainly have won. You guys were very close to collusive lockdown thanks to red text. And could have possibly secured it if you tricked me with blue text.

haha, I guess that kind of sums up this game for me. A scumteam won because they targeted a dead player with a rolecop ability before he could force the mod to break the setup for him.

I'm not certain I could be forced to break the set up. I would probably review all dubious questions with my back up mod. But you would get some information. Honestly, the pre given red text was more powerful than I ever anticipated. But I knew I needed a Beatrice Role like that. It was unavoidable :P.

But yeah, that was some unorthodox winning :S.

When I was looking over the game I knew it was going to be hard to "balance", but I did my best to help with it. I didn't think it went out too badly in the end truth be told.

Necropolis? Uh...I'm Netopalis. Anyway, I figured that SC wasn't talking because he was in the scumteam and they were killing me, so I stopped checking.

I work an eight-hour day that does not completely overlap when my parents work, and I take the bus my sister's apartment when I get off as I neither live where the buses run nor drive. She has a computer with Internet access, but I often have to wrestle with it to get it to cooperate, so I rarely get on mafiascum.net from there. I'm buying all the parts for her next computer when my parents tell me they don't need my money, so hopefully something like that won't happen again.
