He was at L-2 because three people had votes on him: fuzzylightning, I Am Innocent, and Lord Baltheir. It was during the RVS so maybe the votes were actually just random. Random voting can suck if everyones random votes end up being on the same person, so fuzzylightning retracted vote to prevent that from happening.-

Mine was semi random in the sense I like to vote for someone with a vote already. I saw you had 2 votes, and thought I put someone else at 2 votes as well. It was between j west or Deer at that point, I went with the newbie to see if I could get a newbie slip up.Dr. Glunk wrote:He was at L-2 because three people had votes on him: fuzzylightning, I Am Innocent, and Lord Baltheir. I obv disagree with the others that early bandwagons are not good. On the flip side, I think one RVS vote on each player would be much more worthless.
fuzzy retracted his vote after all nine players had made their RVS vote. So it wasn't like 2 newbies would jump on with add'l random votes.Dr. Glunk wrote:Random voting can suck if everyones random votes end up being on the same person, so fuzzylightning retracted vote to prevent that from happening.
I think the retracted vote was within reason, but there may have been a little over drama in that whole episode for my liking...-

@I Am Innocent, did you read this:
I agree that they get discussion started, but I think they can easily mask scum. It's more a matter of personal preference, sure - some people love bandwagons, others don't. I'm not going to make a whole case based on someone bandwagoning in RVS, but it doesn't make someone look pro-town in my eyes.Deer wrote: By the way, I should have probably clarified this - by "aren't good" I meant that they can very easily have some scum on the wagon, and therefore need to be watched out for.
This is all a huge steaming pile of WIFOM. You can't make this argument.I Am Innocent wrote:Reread my post and it sounds confusing. Second question was more, which of these moves is the mafia more likely to make:
1) on a wagon where it may draw attention
2) voting as follows: "I hate the movie Bambi, so deer gets my vote" (making this the first vote on deer...)

like why did _j west went at l-2?
It feels weird or i am just acustomed to 12 player game.
This doesn't sit well with me at all. Just saying these vague, general, random questions seems like a great way to "act town" and look like you're trying to scumhunt without having to actually put any effort into it.vezopiraka wrote:Let's make some discusion here. It starts getting boring.
So who do you think is scum?

Just caught up with all the discussion ... I made a random vote earlier as suggested being aware that there's time to change it as more is said. It's still difficult to know who to vote for but that's the nature of the game, I guess.
The following comment
leads me to wonder (a) why vezopiraka is playing as a newbie, and (b) if vezopiraka was trying to encourage a bandwagon.vezopiraka wrote:It feels weird or i am just acustomed to 12 player game.-

I've been trying to follow a game as a spectator on another forum but couldn't quite catch on ... followed their link to here and figured best way to learn is to play.vezopiraka wrote:@charlou: I'm playing as a newbie cause i played once on another forum and it was a 12 player game.
Still not seeing anything shifty to point suspicion in any direction. I'm guessing it doesn't get any clearer as the game goes on ...-

Deer, you still haven't answered my question. You've eschewed early bandwagons, but then say the random voting is good because we can see the responses.
So I'll ask you again. How are we ever supposed to see readable defenses if there's only one vote on people, usually for reasons that are, quite honestly, rather silly.-

How many times do I need to quote that? I agree my first posts were somewhat unclear, but still, you should be reading the thread.Deer wrote: By the way, I should have probably clarified this - by "aren't good" I meant that they can very easily have some scum on the wagon, and therefore need to be watched out for.-

There isn't only one vote ... we can 'unvote' and vote for someone else ...Amish_Charney wrote:Deer, you still haven't answered my question. You've eschewed early bandwagons, but then say the random voting is good because we can see the responses.

Hmm, I don't hate the idea of it, but right now, if I'm gonna wagon, it'll be on charlou. If the tell you're working on is the vague, generalized questions about nothing in particular, charlou's been the poster for those of late.
Asking when things get started... odd ideas vis a vis burden of proof, nothing posts, voting with no real reason, the the weird self vote... yeah
