So if we can take out loans for 300% of out cash right now, we can technically have like, $400. And the scum would then have... $500? (I'm hoping I did my math right, lol.)

Ok, I'm not going to go too far into the money issue, but with each town player able to take out a $300 loan, on top of D1 starting money they'd have $400. Scum would have $500, if they started with $125. So it is possible for any player to have scrounged up all that money to get a power.

1) I wasn't pretending to be. I don't have a high self-esteem, and I was unsure if I did the math wrong. There's always the possibility for an error. (Namely in the $125 x4 = what?) I have my stupid moments.
2) This math didn't involve the 125x4, so it was easier.

Zajnet's initial contributions today are odd. Feels like he wants to keep the Andrius thing from yesterday going, with no particular reason - what does it mean that Andrius is "our best lead", other than that he had a wagon on him yesterday?

I agree with SK that NS's reasons for thinking Andrius is scum are very contrived. They feel like a game of "what can I find that looks like a scumtell?" rather than "who is actually scum?". I also dislike NS's play in my argument with him yesterday - his stances were:

StK, it makes no sense that you are 'convinced' that Vas is scum yet you refuse to vote. Clarify, please? You also have a list of "other" scum. Please, which is most likely out of that list to be paired with VV?

So. I found NS's orginal question odd. When I asked him about it, he said he wasn't interested in who VV's buddies were. On further questioning, he told me to shut up and that he was "generating discussion". I wasn't satisfied with that explanation - "generating discussion" is a pretty poor excuse to ask basically irrelevant questions. He responded with the implication that actually his passing interest in VV's scumbuddies

why he asked SK the original question. I feel he's given two poor and contradictory reasons for that question.

Having said all that, Andrius is also on my scumlist. During Day 1, up until he started coming under pressure, he did basically nothing. Nothing that would apply pressure to a player, work towards finding their alignment or lead to a lynch. When he made points he frequently weakened them, and this makes it feel like he was nervous about being called on what he was posting.

He's been very vocal and pretty convincing in his defense, but otherwise posting a lot while doing very little looks like under-the-radar scum to me.

Looking at this game. those who are bidding on the NK should explain who they are and why they are bidding on the item.
The NK should be used by someone we think is town and who they shot should be talked about as well.
There will be someone who will try to get the body armor. I think that, the cop and any other ability should be avoided, but discussing the nk ability is more for the town side then allowing the scum to have it and control it.

what do you propose be done about the fact that mafia may simply stay silent and not mention at all that they have the night kill power?

I'll come out right now and say that I am the one that bid $146 for the Nightkill. I am town, and I borrowed close to the maximum possible without hitting bankruptcy in 3 days to get the scum to blow as much of their money as possible on getting that. If someone wants to wire me their money so I can try to win it for the town, that would be cool but you probably won't believe me, so meh. At least we got the scum to spend as much as possible.

Thats a great idea, to drive up the prices the mafia will have to pay thereby risking bankrupting them earlier or at least making things slower for them, and they'll have each other to bid against as well again making things hopefully more difficult for them. Also worse comes to worse if a town does get a night kill, then it does two things, gives the chance for town to kill scum, and stops mafia from killing town. though this doesn't mean you are town.

If a player doesnt' say they bid on it we assume then (most likely correctly) that scum has the NK.

that makes more sense, though if someone were to claim we'd get massive WIFOM as to whether or not scum would claim the ability in the hopes of being passed off as town

too many holes in this plan.
It would take until day 3 to get two "confirmed" townies (via the cop buy) and it is not guarenteed that scum wont just buy the cop ability
by just trusting a player because they seem townie as the official is a huge risk
the player being sent money could be easily give money over the threshold to force him out of the game thereby losing the town a whole lot of money.

I think everyone but Kerrigan's had the chance to claim NK. So if he/she doesn't have it then I think its safe to say its in the hands of a scum faction.

it was pretty likely to be going into the hands of scum, remember that whoever brought it is effectivly paying 73.5 per kill.

- This gives the ability to set the interest rate on debt. You may set it at 2%, 5%, 10%, or 15% . You must submit this before the night, and it will be in effect the night after you have submitted. Finally, this ability gives the Banker a 20% discount on all abilities being sold because of bankruptcy. For example, if Ability X is put on the market because of bankruptcy, and the Banker ends up purchasing that ability for $100, he will only have to pay $80.
