In that case no thanks. I'll have mine answered by the mod soon enough and that won't take nearly as much work.

Roger; want to discuss Midnight Sorrow instead?

TheButtonmen is strung up. In plain sight.

But there are no policemen around this time.

Vote Count:

6 to lynch

TheButtonmen (6): havingfitz, Oso, InflatablePie, Midnight's Sorrow, Hoopla, Nikanor

Nikanor (3): q21, Furry, TheButtonmen
Midnight's Sorrow (1): Gwynplaine

TheButtonmen is lynched. Please stand by.

The magician goes right on with his act. He thinks that with all the murmuring, him vomiting up a colorful scarf is the center of the commotion.

When people don't applaud, though, he realizes what's been done. Once TBM is left to dangle, the mob all runs away. One person ventures up to the tree to try to save TheButtonmen, but all TBM does is look at him helplessly from his noose, and then suddenly shuts his eyes for the last time. By the time he's cut down, it's too late.

The 911 calls flood the police station now. Nobody dares to get near to his body until a coroner arrives again. He examines the now dead body. Everyone anxiously looks on to see what he will discover, even the mob returns later to figure out what TBM's true nature was.

"It's always the tough looking guys that are the innocent ones. He's been a Boston family man all his life."

After stressful days, a certain man always liked to go down to Boston Harbor to relax. He'd just sit there and watch all the boats come into port as the Night set in Boston. Everything about the Harbor was calming, from the gentle breeze that came in..... and the boats that came into port. One particularly impressive boat was going by. Why, it was one of the large-
*BANG*

And that boat is the last thing he'll ever see. The seagull sitting idly next to him was the only one that, quite literally, flapped at the sound of the muffled shot. The shooter slinked away with ease.

The mob relocates to the very pier where he was sitting. Too bad tourists are still around to be unwilling spectators, but that hasn't stopped the mob before.

I know you asked Hoopla this but I'll give my opinion as well. With the presence of an SK, I'm thinking 2 mafia is as good a possibility as 3 mafia.

In either case, we need to start hitting mafia with our lynches pretty much starting today. As just about every theory I had got trashed when The Buttonmen flipped town, I am starting over from day 1 with a re-read, perhaps concentrating on what xReckonerx and Furry had to say (maybe even TBM as well). With their deaths, we know they didn't have any ulterior, scum motives for proposing any reads they had.

Has anyone else complained of posts being truncated since the conversion. I'll try and find some specific examples if I can but it seems to me some of the posts in the thread now, aren't as long as used to be. Here:

That's one of my posts and I know it was longer than that when I posted it.

Click here for the old thread in the meantime.

Once my finals week ends, I may deliberate editing the affected posts, depending on how many got truncated, and putting back the words that were stripped away. (there could very well be game mechanics such as flips or player votes that have disappeared. Who knows.)

It's hard to tell without knowing the other roles in the game - I suggest massclaim will help us largely in discovering how many mafia we have left. Let me just say, that 2:1:9's (27 up until Mini 930) are relatively rare compared to 3:1:8's (73 up until Mini 930), so my opinion is rooted largely in this fact.

I'm not sure how much confidence others place in balance-type arguments, but I consider it one of my few areas of expertise. Who thinks massclaim is a worthwhile idea?

I don't think a mass claim is necessarily a bad idea. My first thoughts are for everyone to review first paying attention to any thoughts put forth by Reckoner, Furry and TBM. As I stated earlier, their motivations for posting reads are no longer in doubt. Then decide if a mass claim is something we want/need to do.

Look for who attacked their reasoning, who attacked them (yes, I realize I'm putting myself in the bulls-eye there esp. in regards to The Buttonmen) and if you think their reason(s) for doing so bear scrutiny. That is what I am currently doing.

I would like to reinforce Gwynplaine's question to Nikanor.

TBM said he was going to claim, since no one seemed inclined to rescind their vote until he did, why not give him a last defense?

I agree. A mass claim aint all that bad considering how things have gone. Yet we
should[/b] see if its the right way to go at this point in time.~

I've had a change of heart on Hoopla. I'm assuming there is 3 scum in addition to the SK...which IMO would support a PGO to offset the 33% anti-town element. TBM and Furry on Nikanor (may they rest in peace) coupled with the quick vote on TBM by Nik before TBM could claim...and not providing any case on TBM after waiting for me to provide mine.....has Nikanor atop my scum list.

Vote Nikanor

So it's not a bad idea, but it might not be a good idea, either? Could you be more wishy-washy?

How do you propose that we go about "seeing if it's the right way to go?"

Get out of town Gwyn and stop twisting my words to fit your diabolical needs. I say its a good idea, not a bad one. But it may not be the 'best' time to do it.

I'm not "twisting" anything. Your words are there for all to see.

Okay, you think mass claim is a good idea. Why? How will it help us?

Secondly, you think this may not be the best time to do it. What would be the best time?

Of course its there for all to see, and it means exactly what I said it means.

You of course, tried to make it seem like shadows were ozzing out of the corner of my post

It's a good idea cause it will, like hoopla says, make it easier to determine what exactly we have to deal with, in terms of numbers.

It may not be the 'best' time to do so, cause we can probably do well with out doing such a thing anyways.

TBM had his chance to claim. He didn't. Stalling on claims is scummy in my opinion.

MS, how do you think we should go about doing well without doing a massclaim?
