RULES:

VOTING:
For votes to count, they need to be bolded and in similar format to this -->

2.
DAY PHASE:
Talk, vote, FOS, HOS, MFOS, etc. There will be a universal deadline of 2 weeks for every day phase. If no one reaches the needed votes for a lynch by the time of deadline, there will be no lynch at all that day.

3.
NIGHT PHASE:
Thread shall be locked tight until the next day begins. This phase will last a maximum of 96 hours. Those of you with night actions can send them to my PM box as early as you want. You can also make a list of players to use an action on, in order, just in case your top choice(s) don't make it to nightfall.

NIGHT TALKING:
Everyone has the ability to speak with a random group of neighbors. You will retain these same neighbors until the end of the game, even if they are eliminated. Maybe in future games I will allow the rotation of neighborhoods. :idea:

4.
PARTICIPATION:
Please inform me of any online access issues that may effect your appearance in the game. If you lurk and miss most or all of a day phase, you will be punished (rule #10). I may feel that your attention is needed in the thread and will prod you, even if you already posted that same day. Dead players are allowed to make one fluff/bah posts. I will replace after more than one failure to appear, such as not reacting to prods. If you are not involved in this game, please do not post in any related threads to the game.

ROLES/CLAIMS:
All forms of claiming are allowed, but you are
not allowed to quote your role PM nor post any links
. Pictures? Sure, post them. Paraphrasing is acceptable. If you have a question about your role, I prefer you PM me about it so I don't reveal much to influence the others' gameplay. In the interest of a flavorful story, I will use any reference I see fitting at the time but it does not (always) indicate anything about the players. I will be writing with characters not even used for roles in this current game, as well as characters you (the players) mention. Characters
may appear in future games
as legit roles, but, in the meantime, I will create scenes for mere enjoyment rather than depending on the relation to your individual roles.

RELEVANCE:
Stay on the topic of the game. No bickering or personal attacks. Joking around is cool, but let's keep it civil. E-beef can ruin a game in an instant, so help keep the spirit up. You
are allowed
to speak about other games as long as either 1) The game is over, or 2) The game is ongoing but the Mod has given you permission to speak about that particular game.

OFFENSES:
Violators, beware. I can tolerate honest mistakes. Howeve; 1st time petty offenders get a warning; 2nd time petty offenders will be made voteless, and can continue playing. 3rd time petty offenders will be penalized in some fashion, and I don't mean Gucci or Prada. Serious offenders, violators, terrorists and rapists alike will be modkilled. Being modkilled means this game is an auto-loss for you, even if your faction won. Better yet, it's a double loss.

The Overworld's natural elements were saved. Around the same time, Hollow Bastion was overrun by a demonic populace. The heroes from the Overworld were transporting via airship after triumphing over the Fiends, deciding to help the warriors at the castle, though outnumbered. No one loses their life other than the minions of evil, largely due to the more threatening entities not engaging the heroes at the moment.

From the Spacial area above, streaks of black lightning produce a void, widening with each progressive second. The gap drops a gray, magnetic sphere that crashes down on the outskirts of Hollow Bastion. The matter, acting as a vacuum, erases the landscape, stretching out into miles over a short period.

The Shadow Lord stares up, looking into the outer realm where he witnesses
Necron
attacked by other supernatural beings. As his newly conquered castle is absorbed by the magnetic orb, the heroes make it back to the airship in time to flee. They experience turbulence as the wind retracts towards the void. Over time, they make it out... barely.

With an agitated engine breaking apart from the ship's hind area and through the exhaust system, the airship doesn't have far to go before making an uncontrolled landing into a cluster of mountains. The ship makes it far enough that it is not in range of the now-disappearing magnetic hole.

The power is out... everything is dark... you all wonder in your heads, "am I alive?" A cough rings out in the far distance; this is when you realize you haven't died (yet). The sound of a spark igniting now echoes from down a familiar corridor. Your eyes still need time to adjust, but you feel in no danger at the moment.

"I need your help. Search for survivors on the other side. I'll make my way towards the deck."

Hearing others converse, you continue to feel safe. As your eyes refocus, you faintly see a few individuals hoisting flares over their eyes and walking around the ship's hangar. Someone gives you a hand, lifting you up to your feet and aiding you in a seat not far away.

The power can be heard coming back on. Gradually, the lights flicker on and the entire hangar becomes visible. Whoever is in the cockpit opens up the boarding ramp. Everyone naturally wants to go outside and get some fresh air until the ship is ready to fly again.

"They're here..."

"What do you mean?"

"I can sense him.. and her.. they must have been on the ship with us ever since we were in the air."

"Who, Aerith?"

Suddenly (it's always suddenly), a scream comes from outside. The body of one of the crewmates is snatched by an entity that is barely seen; moving so fast that the majority of onlookers only saw a blur. More people flood out of the airship and cautiously glance around, asking what the commotion was about. The only ready answer at the moment is that this unknown being means to do harm.

A different group begins to talk:

"Where did that man go?"

"I don't know, son. Something took him. Go back inside and stay close to others."

"What about you?"

"I.. I think it's best if we go look for him. He may need our help."

"What if he isn't alive, father?"

"We... we will find that out ourselves. Now go inside. It isn't safe out here-"

A cackle interrupts the end of his sentence - A feminine voice leads everyone to suspect a woman is out there. The son is soon ushered back aboard the ship by a few others. Staying on the outside, a group of gunmen ready their weapons and stay on the lookout for whatever they may be up against.

"Whatever the hell this is, even if it presents itself in the form of a woman, don't let your guard down."

"What if you're wrong about that judgment call? I mean, we were wrong about Ultros, remember?"

"Shut up, Balthier."

Out of nowhere, the feminine creature rushes out from behind a set of large rocks and flails its limbs at the group. Before they can visualize what this thing looks like, it knocks them all off to the side and leaps on top of the airship. Glass can be heard shattering, signaling that this thing was likely breaking into the vessel.

"Shoot!"

"Shoot? I don't remember hearing us shoot anything! What the hell just happened?!"

"We don't have time to argue. All of you, head back inside and warn the others."

And with that, the pack of gunners all rush back onto the boarding ramp, carefully protecting their rearsides as they enter separate doorways that lead to various parts of the ship.

Balthier finds himself in the west section of the ship. Steadying his firearm, he peeks around every corner after intently listening to detect any possible confrontation. It wasn't until the fifth corridor that he eases up. With the tension gone out of his shoulders, he loosely strolls around the ship looking for the female creature.

A voice spreads down the hall from a darkened area:

"Watch yourself."

Balthier quickly snaps to the side, aiming his weapon before recognizing the voice. He hesitates for a moment, standing in place and waiting as the person walks closer, into the light.

"Stay sharp, Balthier. Letting your guard down will likely cost you your life."

"Do you have to be such a creep, Vinny? There's not much action over here so, pardon me for taking things easy."

"You don't think so, huh? Keep walking further and let me know if you won't consider a reassessment of your ways."

"Alrighty.."

Doing as requested, Balthier heeds his companion's advise and slowly moves past him, walking into the darkened area that Vincent came from. Nothing can be seen; the overhead light is damaged, thus the reason for the dark. Balthier asks:

"What am I about to walk across, exactly?"

"She's been... well..."

A door automatically slides vertically, opening the next room over. Balthier is startled. Not only by the door suddenly opening, but also the female body he finds laying there. From the looks of things, she wasn't killed by the monstrosity from earlier - her throat shows signs of strangulation.

"Who was she?"

Vincent does not give a response. Balthier turns, ready to ask again about the woman's identity, but Vincent has since disappeared, leaving the sky pirate to himself. Well, with the dead body of course.

A crowd of passengers are huddled closely. Balthier returns after a long hour of searching the ship for any signs of the creature. Wondering what they look so concerned about, he moves past them and follows where their eyes are looking. What he sees in the next room is only bits and pieces of what used to be Nautilius.

Elsewhere, Vincent is having more luck stumbling across dead bodies. Once again, he finds that he has lost someone close - a fellow gunman that he's been traveling with for quite some time now. Similar to the strangulation, this death does not seem like it came from the monster.

Following a trail of blood, Vincent and a makeshift party walk through various aisles. Creepy noises abound, all of Vincent's followers quiver at any little clinks, clanks and ticks. Clearly shown in the blood trail are footsteps, though it appears something other than shoes had also been dragging behind; the blood is somewhat smeared.

After coming upon the engine room, Vincent stops in his tracks... The others stopped their eyes from frantically wandering, for once, looking at Vincent with the hope he'll tell them soon why he has decided to stand in place. Without warning, he aims his shotgun high at an upper deck within the engine room. The others look, only catching a glimpse of someone busting through a vent to escape.

Vincent is hasty to pursue the person, making it halfway up the stairs before the sound of an object crashing behind him once again causes him to halt. He whips around, aiming his weapon at whatever was behind him without a second thought. What he sees is a familiar entity; attacking the handful of people that followed Vincent here. Impulsively shouting out with gusto, Vincent yells:

"Jenova!"

Shooting at this tall enemy would not be enough to take it down. Vincent leaps in front of Jenova and throws down his gun.

"Hit me!"

The alien smacks Vincent a few times with its limp limbs, but he begs for more. Jenova blasts Vincent a couple of times with a laser beam that materializes from its shoulders... :?

"Come on.. you can do better than that, you ugly-"

A combination of laser-shots shut Vincent up. Everyone that came to the engine room looks to either be killed or defeated. The one who survived Jenova's initial assault begins to crawl off to the side, with the alien now preparing to corner him for one last, fatal blow. Just as the crew member cowers against the wall, fearing this will be his last breath, Vincent miraculously comes back to his feet with his LIMIT bar maxed out. Jenova stops in "her" tracks and turns, perhaps wondering what he was up to. Vincent transforms into his Chaos form, ready to rip Jenova apart... and he does just that.

With the ultimate essence of power at his command, Vincent flies circles around Jenova and shreds the alien's body away, limb by limb. After severing large clumps of Jenova's flesh, he makes sure to take "her" head lastly, as if paying homage to the order of things from their world.

After reverting back to his normal form, Vincent can't help but feel as though defeating Jenova was too easy this go-round. Much easier, in fact, than in the past when he's had to go up against "her" multiple forms.

The cabin was clear. The outer deck was clear. Nearly everywhere Balthier searched, there were no signs of the feminine monster from much earlier. He casually makes his way through another corridor, barely gripping his gun tightly enough...
Casual
, until being startled by what seems like someone approaching from around a corner.

A door can be heard sliding open and shut from the unseen parts where the sky pirate casts his suspicion. Balthier creeps down the hall, ready to unload a few shots into any threat that may come meeting him head-on soon. His heart rate speeds up, possibly even becoming audible as well. With intensity filling up the atmosphere, he decides to hurry up and jump past the bend in order to surprise whatever/whoever was coming.

Thankfully, before he makes the mistake of pumping shots into this incoming person, he discovers it to be Sazh Katzroy - another gunman that's been adventuring with him since the beginning of this omniversal collision. The two gunners let out a bit of small laughter, relieved that they didn't blow holes in each other's faces. After settling their firearms down by their sides, Balthier opens up a conversation by asking Sazh:

"I take it you've had no luck in catching this creature's trace?"

"No, but I'm thinking it's killed at least one person while it's been onboard. Can't say I've witnessed anything. Heck, we didn't exactly get a good look at it to begin with. Where is everyone?"

"They're all in the community room."

""Oh.. huh!? Since when did we have a community room?"

"Since tonight."

"Oh.. well, what are they doing? I keep hearing a lot of noise no matter what part of the ship I'm at."

"Me too, but I have not the slightest idea what could be going on."

"Speaking of noises.. do you hear that? It sounds like rumbling, coming... from... ugh!"

Just then, someone/something goes rushing past the two, knocking them down before they could even get a look at who/what it is. Whatever it is, it bursts through the doorway Sazh came from and finds its way into the community room after a while. It intently selects someone amongst the crowd to pound to a pulp, leaving an echo of screams coming out of the room as a flock of passengers rush out.

"What the fuq!?!?"

The room clears out as all hell breaks loose inside. Sazh and Balthier try to pull themselves up on their feet, but the stampeding crowd that exit the room won't give them the proper chance. By the time the passengers have passed, Balthier and Sazh are stomped and worn out to the point of exhaustion. They crawl their way into the community room, looking around to see who got killed - Or, more accurately, who got turned to orange juice.

Everyone has finally left the ship, it seems. Vincent stays perched atop an immense stone near the foot of Mt. Gagazet, carefully inspecting those that exit the vessel.

Most of the pack separates into small groups of 5 or 6 people; Sazh of course taking his son with him. Balthier prides himself in leading his group through the landscape, being one of the first to abandon the dangerous environment. Rather than do as the others, Vincent decides to stay posted as he awaits the creature's appearance, expecting it to leave the airship soon enough.

Half a mile away, Balthier's group encounters a few feral fiends here and there. Distracted, the sky pirate doesn't notice one of his own members raising their weapon behind him - a large man with a uniquely crafted axe. After defeating the fiend, Balthier blows the smoke from his gun, putting on a cheeky smile as he just about turns around.

"Ergh!"

With that... the "traitor" slumps down - the result of someone striking him from behind with a fatal blow. Balthier thanks his lucky stars that he was saved, quickly pointing his firearm down at the large man to make sure he can anticipate any more hostility. Looking at the man who saved him, Balthier speaks:

"Thanks for that one, Rush. I'm not sure what this guy's deal is.. or was.."

Rush and Balthier gaze down at the large man, noticing his skin loses color and suddenly fades into a pale gray. The group are unsure what to make of the traitor's changing appearance, but their thoughts are interupted as, back at the site of the crash, Vincent fires a shot...

Working their way up the mountain still, the group rarely encounter any more stray fiends. Rush and Balthier seem to be buddying up rather nicely on the trail. The two see a cave not too far ahead. They want to enter, but one of their party members begins to convulse directly behind them.

"What's going on, big fella?," asks Balthier. He looks a bit closer, remembering that he's seen this "big fella" earlier on the ship. "Hey.. you were the one who pushed me down-"

While trying to utter another word, Balthier sees the big, furry "fella" explode right before his very eyes - Definitely not the prettiest sight. Balthier takes a few steps forward to examine the body, unnoticing of the scene behind him now. Rush gets snatched up and put in a headlock. Whoever has him knows some good choking maneuvers - Rush is silenced!

With a blue face and limp body, Rush is far beyond dead by the time Balthier finishes rambling on about the combusted body. Turning around while muttering a bit (speculating), Balthier is met with a stiff set of knuckles across his jaw. Woozily, he attempts to regain his composure while the attacker hovers over him...

A shot rings out...

Balthier's skin is saved once more - this time by Vincent. In pursuit of the attacker, Vincent doesn't chase him too far; stopping right by Balthier to help him up. The aggressor runs into an entrance to the caverns, hiding out there until he is inevitably hunted down. He's got some time to run further, with Vincent more occupied as he observes the two slain heroes.

Balthier & Vincent head into the cave as planned. The mysterious assailant stays hidden; perched between a groove above the gunmen. Not long afterward, the attacker leaps down onto Vincent, crashing down on his head with a stomp before pouncing over to Balthier. The man locks in a flying armbar - some real deal military jujutsu.

Balthier cries out while his arm is tugged on, nearly snapped in half. The one thing that saves him is a kick to the attacker's face - from a chocobo, of all things. The creature pops up off its feet and scurries away, leaving all of the men to stand in their fatigued states. They all come up, looking in the direction the chocobo went, then realizing they still had a fight to be settled.

A quick potshot from Balthier is dodged by the unknown man, with the bullet barely whizzing by Vincent's face. Of course, this makes the caped hero shout with frustration, "Easy with that shooting!"

"Oops," escapes Balthier's mouth while he simultaneously tries to tackle the man. The best he can do is grab ahold of the attacker's leg while Vincent knocks him unconscious with an elbow. The heroes come side-to-side, aiming their weapons down at the other man like this was a scene from Pulp Fiction.

"Wait.. are we about to kill him?"

But before Balthier's question earns a reply, someone else gives an answer: the man's body convulses violently, roughly a few seconds until his head explodes. The rest of his flesh melts down inexplicably, leaving the gunmen puzzled.

"I believe this man was killed by the same 'thing' that killed Sanae & Umaro. This monster seems to possess some kind of power that can make other organisms explode."

"Does that mean this thing is nearby..?"

Sazh & son walk up the floating mountain with a group of ship technicians following. They're currently distanced a mile away from Balthier, Vincent and the other groups. When they reach an outlet to a tunnel, they come across the body of someone who had been killed two times over. Question is: who killed her first?

The small chocobo hides underneath Sazh's signature 'fro, obviously disturbed by the sight. Dajh doesn't mind it much, though.

Night 4 was no fun. Everyone was counting on vezokpiraka to help them boogie; a good distraction from the depressing events that kept occuring. Since he wouldn't dance and put on a show, everyone begins to suspect he's up to no good.

Finding it hard to concentrate, vezokpiraka's skin begins to change to the same gray color as Balbagan. By looks alone, everyone knows he's either been converted, non-human, possessed, infected, or has a really bad flu. But, with it being Summer-esque out here, there's no way he could have caught something.

The others beat the puss out of vezokpiraka to earn 6722 EXP points & 20,000 gil. xRECKONERx levels up due to hammering!!!

"Dude.. where is the sun?"

The night was old, and blacker than a minstrelsy performer's face. Everyone was still waiting on top of the mountain, trying their best to flag down a passing airship so they could be taken away from the current environment. No pilot could ever see the group below as long as the darkness was present to shroud them. It takes Sazh summoning his fiery companion to attract the crew of the next airship, finally.

Smiles and cheers had come now. Everyone had reason, as they were long overdue something to be joyful about. Thankfully no one starved to death during this extended period of night, but, than again, no one ever eats in these games anyway. There is one camper who did not share the happiness of others.

MoS, under the guise of Dr. Melfi, smashes me over the head with a rock before tying my body up with Duck-brand duct tape. I wake up just in time to see her (him) strike a match across the rock, slowly moving behind me with a wicked grin planted on her face. I feel a bit uncomfortable at the moment, but not for the obvious beating I suffered. There was something shoved up my rearside and it felt like a 6-pack of hotdogs.

Dr. Melfi ignites whatever it is that's behind me and I have to kiss my ass goodbye... literally. The last thing she says before I blow up:

My eyes would reopen in what felt like days later, but perhaps it's still the fifth night. I see an orange bird, levitating above me with flaming wings. Could this be the Phoenix that is said to revive lifeforms by using its mere essence? I would think so. I don't remember equipping any materia for this creature, but I'm thankful it was around.

Speaking of 'around', I wake up to find two bodies not too far ahead of me. Sadly, I was not alive to record how their deaths happened. Hopefully someone fills me in later.

"It's coming!"

There is a strain of fright in this man's voice. He yells up the mountain trail to those other 'shipwrecked' survivors. Those at the forefront scramble into the airship that has come to their fortunate rescue.

"Hurry! Hurry!"

The creature that they've been evading for this entire episode seemingly has them cornered, once and for all. Sazh makes sure his son gets aboard the airship, staying back himself with his two most-favored firearms aiming down the mountain side.

Other warriors prepare for the monster, no longer wanting to run after the rest of their group is safely on the aircraft. They all have a worried expression on their faces; from their hanging jaws to those terror-filled eyes.

Bodies begin to fling from around the other side of an unseen path. Now smeared across the trail is the blood of these recently slaughtered people. Preparing themselves for this encounter are, recognizeably, Sazh, Mythe, Riku, Kiefer, Kou Leifoh and Sigmund.

"Today's a bad day to learn swordfighting," remarks Kou, possessing a longsword he picked up along the way.

Everyone can sense that the monstrosity was inching closer to appearing from around the bend, likely stalling this long to intentionally toy with them. Kou's nerves get the best of him; panicking somewhat, he discards the weapon and stances himself in a bareknuckle style.

He comments:

"Screw it.. I'll go with what I know.."

And then, it appears... HE appears... the false danger, yet still posing a threat, is a silver-haired katana-wielder suited in a black coat with metal shoulder pads. His long, flowing hair accents his dark, trademark visage.

Sazh exclaims:

"This isn't it! That's not the creature!"

Mythe questions him:

"Are you sure he's not the one that's been following us?"

"Yeah, I'm sure. That beast from earlier was most definitely a female, and it was far from human."

After Sazh's reply, Kiefer cuts in:

"How do we know this guy is human as well?"

"Good question," says Sigmund.

The airship's pilot has finally managed to lift the vessel up and into the air. Sazh looks back, praying that he will be able to reunite with his son, Dajh. Riku places a hand on Sazh's back, giving a small sign of comfort. The men all look towards the silver-haired swordsman, ready to engage him.

Kou and Mythe dash first, hoping their fists would meet their foe's face. The party makes a surprise attack now, with the two brawlers providing a distraction for Sigmund and Kiefer, who both jump over the previous two with vertical-slashes coming down. Their target, however, is nowhere to be seen at the moment.

Sazh is shocked:

"What.. where the hell-"

The mysterious man's katana emerges from the other end of Riku's body. The man lifts Riku up with raw strength, tossing him into the previous four fighters to then focus his killing-intent onto Sazh.

A section of Sazh's afro is shaved as a result of the attacker swiping at him, planning to decapitate the gunman who luckily crouched in time. The man's knee hits Sazh on the chin, nearly followed up by a downward-stab that Kou interupts - he tackles the swordsman and pins him against a large stone.

The killer is quick to flip forward, consequently throwing Leifoh to the side; nearly off the mountain's ledge. Springing up, the menace breaks through the other swordbearer's - Kiefer and Sigmund - incoming charge, knocking them back with a horizontal slash that meets their blades. Continually lashing through the air, the killer makes his way towards Mythe, cutting off the gauntlets worn by the blonde male.

Sazh fires off more than a few shots in defense of Mythe, but each bullet is sidestepped and deflected back at him. A few of the deflected shots hit Sazh's left thigh, immobilizing him for the time being. With his back still turned to Mythe, the mysterious man thrusts his weapon into the blonde fighter's sternum, penetrating through his heart. Instantaneously, Mythe's life fades away from his body.

Now taking his time, the malicious man uses magic of some kind to conjure up a series of blazing meteorites that materialize from within the spacial plane. The combination of meteors striking down on the other heroes is enough to put them all on the brink of death. Flames from the meteorites wither off of the men's bodies, sizzling their flesh.

The unknown man scoffs at the weakened group, speaking to his downed opponents:

"I refuse to believe mother lost to any of these men.."

"Good guess!," shouts the caped hero, Vincent, finally able to challenge the silver-haired man. Vincent lounges upward at the opponent from the lower-region of Mt. Gagazet, transforming into his Devil form and proving to be a formidable match for the killer.

Wearily, Sazh and Riku watch as the two demonic foes clash off of the mountain side. They crawl over to the ledge, interested in the outcome of these two men's power struggle. Kiefer, Sigmund and Kou are still counting sheep...

At the candy store? Image I guess.. um.. basically that one guy with the sword kills Eve and the airship picks everyone up and Vincent is still fighting that person. He probably dies. Who knows.

I have terrible time management since, most of the time, I only have 1 day off before it's time to work (e.g. I'll work 2 days, then have off, then work 3 days, then have off, and from there my work schedule is repeated - plus I live up the street so I tell them to call me if they need me and I end up pulling doubles & extra shifts here and there). Activity at my hotel should begin to get real slow (or so I hear based on previous years) during this November and the Winter season.
