Is anyone else wondering about why there have been two claims of night-kill protection abilities?

I woke up with two thoughts in my head today. One was

must... have... coffee.

The other was

why the hell was a survivor doc-fishing?

Questioning two non-doctor protection claims (Bulletproof and Commute) is doc-fishing? Mafuyu doesn't get it. Besides, Mafuyu is fishing for other things. Like a reason to not die today, because Ythill's CommuteLylo weight argument is damning Mafuyu. The best argument that Mafuyu has come up only provides a reason for Mafuyu to live until tomorrow, but it's almost equivalent to switching D1 and D2 around, because scum probably won't target Mafuyu due to A. Being a potential ally and B. The possibility of wasting time due to a commute. Essentially, Mafuyu living today and then getting lynched tomorrow means that Town won't waste time on Mafuyu(unless Mafuyu gets night-killed by town) and the scum definately won't waste time on Mafuyu, which means that the game pretty much progresses overnight as if Mafuyu didn't exist. Really, the only reason town would want Mafuyu to live tonight is if there was a vig to shoot Mafuyu knowing that it would be a 100% not-town death, but Mafuyu's commute throws a wrench in that because, let's face it, Mafuyu doesn't want to die, and will probably commute tonight just for sheer fear of dying. So that plan doesn't work.

Mafuyu isn't seeing a way out of this.

@Ythan: Please don't break ISO. Mafuyu likes being able to catch up on reading without having to cycle through 8-9 pages.

@Ninjapost - Mafuyu would side with whoever doesn't kill Mafuyu soonest. If Mafuyu somehow reaches LyLo, but has already burned up a commute, Mafuyu's stuck siding with scum unless Mafuyu were to gambit. Mafuyu also didn't claim Town Commuter because if Mafuyu kept play going and survived, the possibility of an investigation leading to LynchAllLiars would mean that Mafuyu would die almost immediately, especially considering how Ythill is considering a precautionary lynch on Mafuyu as is on D1. So, Mafuyu thought it would be better to just get the difficult part over with now than risk immediate death just to survive one more day.

Prove that this type of play is inferior to lynching Maf and I'll switch my vote immediatly. Yes, Ythill, I read your justification-hopping but I'll need further enlightment. for example, in only very specific situations would scum claim in Lylo to get Maf on their side, and even if that were the case, she'd just commute, siding with town.

"Very specific situations" == any LYLO with an odd number of players, which is highly likley because we started with an odd number of players. Only one scum needs to claim, not all of them. And there's no way Maf is going to gamble in order to achieve a town win when she can auto-win with scum.

It's fishing because a doc is more likley than anyone else to find the abundance of immunities odd. FWIW, I'd be all for keeping you alive if I could see a way that we could use you to give the town an edge but other than unlikley MYLO insurance (which would mean lynching you anyway), I don't think there is one. There are exactly three ways for you to survive today: if we find extremely high-percentage obv-scum, if someone incurs a day-ending modkill, or if you get the opportunity to quickhammer. Which reminds me...

Maf will hammer anyone placed @ L-1. So don't put anyone @ L-1 goddamnit!

Claims should be called for @ L-2 with another vote waiting. Also, the people piled on MS are losing town cred. Especially Ythan, who is attacking him aggressively @ L-2 for no good reason.

Mafuyu's use would come only if certain roles existed in-game to exploit the fact that Mafuyu only commutes for night kills. Otherwise Mafuyu's essentially an opportunistic douche.
