The line between scummy and anti-town is heavily influenced by perception. It's as blurry as my vision after 10 bottles of vodka. If you think you can clearly separate all scummy things from all anti-town things you are either the God of Mafiascum, or simply fooling yourself.

Everyone knows Jefferson was actually a mafia godfather.
I wouldn't buy anything he said.

Actually, thanks for asking. I've been working on figuring that out.

I still have suspicions of XScorpion, but I agree some of what he's saying in his batch of posts about it being anti-town to hide voting reasons, so for now, I'm getting a slight townie vibe from him. Xite outwardly worries me the most, but I can't tell if that's just how he plays or if he's actually kamikaze scum ><

I don't really get why so many people find Beefster scummy. Well, at least that was true until his most recent post. I ISO'd him, and up until his most recent post, I had a neutral vibe from him, but I've now come across this;

After he voted for Budja, he said;
Beefster wrote:There's a difference between anti-town and scummy.
After d3x voted for XScorpion, he said;
Beefster wrote:The line between scummy and anti-town is sketchy at best and the fact that you're attacking him over such a small semantic bothers me.
FoS: d3x

So the line is distinct enough to warrant a vote on Budja, but the line is not distinct enough to warrant a vote on XScorpion?
Major FoS: Beefster

I'm aware that if I vote for Beefster, he will be at L-1, and I'm also aware that I'm going to be inactive for a few days. I think it would be best if I left my vote off until I come back. (What's the general policy on voting before V/LA's? I've never really gone V/LA before...)

(On that point:
Mod, I might be V/LA until Sunday
: well, I'm definitely not going to be posting on Wedensday, Friday or most of Saturday. I might get on Thursday, so I don't know if that's enough to warrant a V/LA but I wanted to mention it in case I can't actually get on til Sunday.)

Ok noted.

@XS149-
Semantics.
:roll: That's your quote. You are the one making the distinction between AntiTown behavior and scummy behavior. I'm pointing out that you are blurring your own lines of distinction to suit your 'case'.
If it's a verb, then I'm not rolefishing
It is a verb and you are RoleFishing. You even say that {s}he could be a PR. let me show you in my next point...
XS wrote:Now you're putting words in my mouth. How many times do I need to say I think Xite ISN'T a PR, and is actually scum?
Huh. Well, let's check.
In p118, you wrote:If you actually are town, or god forbid a real PR, you just completely screwed yourself by hinting to scum who you are.
In p120, you wrote:If you are a PR, that is insanely anti-town.
How many times must you say it? Well a first would be nice. Aside from that, if you're not suggesting that {s}he is a PR, then you sure are allowing for the possibility.
Beefster got lynched on day 1 in an ongoing game as town for the same reasons you guys are attacking him now.
And you didn't think it worthwhile to bring this up until now because...?
I would like to ask why you suddenly decided to start explaining your votes though. Is there a reason why I'm worthy of making a case but Beefster wasn't?
Well therein lies the difference. I Voted Beefy, I'm building a case on you. As big of a difference between these as there is between AntiTown and scummy behaviors. But don't worry, I haven't forgotten him...

Beefy- Way to come to the rescue of your ScumBuddy once he has come under fire. I love this game... But why the FoS and no Vote? What does Budja have that I don't?

@nocase/XS- On topic plz?

More semantics. Does it really mean that much to you whether or not what he is doing is scummy or anti-town? How about this: Xite's play is BAD. Is that an acceptable term for you? Now, would you care to actually comment on his play or are you just going to tunnel me?
blah blah youre rolefishing
Explain to me how telling Xite that he is horrible if he is a PR is rolefishing.
How many times must you say it? Well a first would be nice. Aside from that, if you're not suggesting that {s}he is a PR, then you sure are allowing for the possibility.
Guess what, it's possible that anyone is a PR. That's how this game is set up. A first? I already said that I thought when I asked everyone to answer my question of whether you thought Xite was more likely to be a PR or scum. You have yet to answer this, btw.
And you didn't think it worthwhile to bring this up until now because...?
Because it's not my responsibility to defend other people.

Wasn't my bolded major FoS enough for you? My top suspect is Beefster for his willingness to change how important he thinks the anti-town/scum distinction is dependent on whether he is attacking or defending.

Oh, hey, I just realised. d3x unvoted Beefster, so if I vote him, he'll be at L-2, not L-1.

Vote: Beefster

Well, given that people seem to love hiding information here, I figured it makes sense to ask questions and get straight answers rather than make assumptions.

Eh, you probably, you big meanie.

No, it's not you. I'm torn whether I think Xite or XScorpion are scum. I think Xite's play is far too dangerous for scum, but it is anti-town, and like I said before, he could just be kamikaze...whereas I'm even less sure about XScorpion. He struck me as pro-town when he was arguing about what was good for town. But apart from that I don't find him particularly townie. So for now I'd say it's a tied place for #2 \o/

Regarding the difference between scummy and anti-town, it's so blurry due to the fact that it's almost entirely based upon opinion. If you're going to attack someone solely on the basis of using "scummy" when you think it should be "anti-town", it's ridiculous. Whereas in my case against Budja, I had many other reasons for attacking him and was merely correcting him to what I considered to be the line and was not basing the case upon it.
On hiatus indefinitely. This was a nice distraction when I was working through my faith transition out of Mormonism, but I need to move on to bigger and better things now.
