HI, Zajnet. Welcome! As Haylen said, take your time. I doubt you'll miss much in the time it takes you to read, given the pace that this game has taken to get off the ground.

Hi Zajnet, welcome.

Just a random point. I'm off graduating tomorrow, so will be away for most of the day...not that it'll probably affect the pace too much x]

Cool. I'm appealing against my Universities decision not to let me repeat the year of my Psychology course. I passed the exams with flying colours, would have 1:1 if it was just based on them. But to pass the whole thing, i need to pass the coursework aswell which I failed. And now they wont let me redo the year >.> Bastards.

Owch. It was looking like I was going to have to retake my year, since I missed a good chunk of the last semester with illness, then had gastroentitis during both my exams. Luckily I caught up and did better than expected with a 2:1 so didn't lose out...

Thankfully. And now, sleep as I'm up at 5am to travel back down to Norwich >>; curse the 9.30am graduation.

I'm going to do something I'm generally against doing just to get some discussion. I'd like everybody to answer these questions please.

1. If you had to lynch somebody right now, who would it be?
2. Why would you lynch them?
3. What are your opinions on the lurkers?
4. Does anybody have any FORSEEABLE need to go V/LA between now and the time deadline hits?
5. If you have played mafia being, is lurking usually part of your playstyle?

My answers

1. At the moment, probably Jmurph3.
2. As usual, I find this difficult to explain because I'm very much a gut player. I play mainly by gut and try very hard to back it up using some sort of logic. I feel at the moment that I'm just picking out one of the people my mind views as a lurker. Of course, my opinion is bound to change.
3. My opinion of the lurkers is that they need to come back or be replaced. I don't necessarily see it as scummy, but I see it as a not trying to fulfill your win condition regardless of what alignment the player is.
4. Yes,
My activity tends to be extremely low at the weekends due to work.

5. Lol, actually, I wouldn't call lurking part of my playstyle, it's something that happens if things are getting too much for me. Posting fluff however? Me and another player had a lovely conversation about that once.

Her: "Posting content is painful for you, isn't it. Haylen."
Me: "I would rather chew glass."

Posting logic is very difficult when you are a gut-based player.
Seriously. Read your role PM before playing.
I am sorry if you have to prod me, I have absolutely no concept of time.

1. Earlder1
2. Brought up the same question again, doesn't contribute anything else.
3. Irritating. Unfair if they are townies and haven't done anything.
4. V/LA? I think that's being away? and no, unless I need to go back to hospital again/
5. No, it wouldn't be either.

At this point, I'm very much against this. We've had zero content posted, except involving the millar issue, and that wasn't even content, IMO. We've exited RVS only to go back in following the replacement of millar. Don't get me wrong - I understand what Haylen's trying to do. I just think that this kind of posting, at this stage in the game, isn't going to generate the kind of response needed, because the newbies are going to be unfamiliar with how to approach this, outside of a RV.

That said, I shall do my best to answer these questions.
Haylen wrote:1. If you had to lynch somebody right now, who would it be?
Haylen or Vamparific
Haylen wrote:2. Why would you lynch them?
Haylen voted for me. This is NOT an OMGUS; instead, it's a retaliatory question of why, at this stage in the game, you would pick one of the few people who has been active recently as a person to lynch. She claims that I am a "lurker" to her mind, but I've posted fairly regularly, especially as compared to some of the other players thus far. Scum want to keep lurkers around, as it brings the town down and helps the scum, so by picking me, a player who HAS been active, under the guise of me being a "lurker", she leaves room for real lurkers to slip by. This is bad play, to me, or, at the very least, not particularly pro-town.

Vamparific is standing out to me because, as our original IC (Haylen replaced in on what was originally an SE slot), he's not offered much helpful as far as getting the game going, and has also not posted much of anything at all. ICs, in my mind, should be more active than what he is being. This to me is suspicious.
Haylen wrote:3. What are your opinions on the lurkers?
I don't like 'em. I like discussion.
Haylen wrote:4. Does anybody have any FORSEEABLE need to go V/LA between now and the time deadline hits?
Not that I know of, but I will update if something happens.
Haylen wrote:5. If you have played mafia being, is lurking usually part of your playstyle?
Never intentionally. I work fulltime, so I am the first to admit that I may not be able to post everyday. I try to read as much as I can everyday to keep caught up, but real life sometimes gets in the way. That being said, I am normally not away from the game for more than 36-48 hours without at least responding to explain my absence.

I would also like to point out that my playstyle is the complete opposite of Haylen's. Mine is based almost entirely on logic, as my gut can and will be wrong (in my first game, I led 2 lynches in a row on townies. I was town. Oops). I like content. I dislike fluff.

I'm glad you did. This game isn't going anywhere.

1. I have no idea.
2. I like to wait for more information so I can make an educated decision. My gut doesn't work over the internet.
3. It's anti-town. Not worth voting someone for it alone, but supports scummy behavior.
4. Tuesdays and Thursdays I play D&D with friends, and Sundays I go to church. Don't expect posts in the late morning and early afternoon on those days.
5. I lurk when I see no reason to post- as I have nothing new to bring to the table.
On hiatus indefinitely. This was a nice distraction when I was working through my faith transition out of Mormonism, but I need to move on to bigger and better things now.

Well, I will respond to Haylen's questions as well.

1. A lurker, probably Bag
2. Well he is definitely a lurker, which is anti-town in itself. Also he is new to the game and I've found that most players tend to post a lot in their first game and are usually not lurkers because they are excited about playing it. Of course, there are times when newbies just flake as well. But in general, I think a new player (Nexus is a good example) will post more and try and be active, that is unless they are scum and trying to avoid slipping up.
3. I don't like lurkers. They are anti-town and really hurt the game.
4. Not really. I'm pretty busy day to day but I should be able to post every day or every other day at the very least. I'll keep everyone informed in anything changes.
5. No. I don't intentionally lurk. I try and post often and provide analysis as much as possible. Sometimes, I check the thread and I don't find anything in particular to respond to, so I don't and check later, but I'm not lurking on purpose. I just need to have something to say, or I won't post. My posts are never meaningless.

In terms of Jmurph's response top Haylen, I like it. I tend to be a more logical player myself and avoid gut feelings. His answer seems fair, and a decent one. I'm intyerested to see what Haylen has to say to this.

@ Nexus
Has anyone (besides maybe Haylen) really contributed anything else? There are lurkers who haven't posted anything substantial. Is my double question really that suspicious to you? I'm just asking because I want you to analyze yourself. It's a good habit to get into.

Not really, but I was asked to point a finger, so I did.

It's also the fact that you go quiet for ages, and only post to repeat things.

Other than that, it was a hunch. Nothing more.
